Agreed with what you said completely! I almost thought it was carbon at first. I guess ive just been looking for a hardcore carbon 29er HT. Nothing seems to exist.. I’d like this in carbon or something like the chameleon in carbon.

Funnily enough I was checking that out earlier!
Its very nice. Really like the build BUT its disappointing that its not carbon. Especially for that price. £2000 !

25mm seems to be the best size for my riding. Handles the rough roads of the city but is still comfy and fast. Unless your racing or have smooth roads stick with 25mm. Only 2p though.

Junkyard- Im new to road riding. ive been covering about 150-200 miles a week over summer. Will probably drop to 100 over winter. I was comparing replacment rate to what I do to the MTB after a harsh Christmas..

Im having the same debate with myself.

But all that really needs replacing is:
Cassette, chain and rings ?! No?
Maybe a new bb and wheel bearings?

Thats all I can think of on a road bike?

Surely the feedback system is there for issues like this? Dont really understand how the OP could get in trouble for using the system as intended.

Its a common issue with them. Ive seen it on several frame.
Contact the seller or NP and they should give you a replacement.
Let me know if you want an example from another rider.

Is this a NP mega by any chance?

Everything I own fits in the boot of a golf (except bikes). I am a student though.

I saw it on some ones blog and I love it. Thought I should share the idea. Think I’ll get it printed.

Makes me feel bad for pursuing a career in oil and gas but I may try and follow the EM side of it. Im still at Uni and I am so grateful that I dont have to pay taxes and other costs to the same extent as an ‘adult’. Still burying my head in the sand somewhat.

I assume you are just making the deck?
Theres a few guides on google that are pretty good.
Looks like you just layer wood and glue with a bit of shaping.

Im running the Halo wheelset. Managed to get them on discount for £160 for the wheelset. Really cant complain. Staid true and tough. Ive abused them plenty. Only gripe I have is the weight but its not noticeable. Ive done some long XC rides.

I ran over a slow worm on the road bike on a descent. It had been raining and my eyes were pretty watery. I only saw it last second. Turned around and went back but it managed to squirm away into the bush. Felt pretty bad.

Well, I was the one who sent the email(s) to the OP and a few other officers on STW. Ive done a undergraduate and am currently doing a masters. Always fancied joining up but this thread is certainly food for thought. (not that I can find any one recruiting anyway)

How many officers are there in here?
That show was an eye opener..

hmm. My climb was 23.39% according to that website. Rather happy with that!

How do you work out the gradient ? Im trying to compare a hill locally to me to what you guys are mentioning so I can get my head around the difference.

    My steep hill: 1.05 m @ 165 ft climb

Yes. POC stuff is lovely. Like the rapha of the mtb world.
    Also good safety ratings.

Im 22 btw. Feel young in here :-) ! I suppose I did do Geography at Uni so that automatically means I should be a map reading (and colouring in) god.

I love maps. Im also a mountain leader. Very satisfying reaching your destination after xx miles without going wrong once. Helps a lot with cycling too. I seem to have a built in compass. Makes me very confused when people haven’t the slightest idea were things are..

Jambo- the course is 1 year long. I’ve been advised to start job hunting in January. I would therfore like to have a plan prior to this date (its only 3 months away). Hardly a long way.

Trail rat- thanks again for all the info! May need to conact you in the future.

Wallop- Ive also got a MSc in Building Surveying so it would down the charted building surveying route. thanks.

Thanks Trail_rat ! Exact response im after. I presume you have degree of some sort? I like the idea of doing something similar to what you do. Sounds like you get plenty of variation and project work.

Jambo- why? I took the MSc because it suits my interests and career aspirations. The construction job is just something ive been offered on the side.

Great price from Si at progressive cycles but when I ordered some flows from him and he sent me crests. Spoke to him and it turns out he had sold out of flows so ordered some more whilst I returned my crests. Coincidence or did he want to keep a sale? He also left the list of hope trade price receipt in the box so I know how much he made.

This also happend when I ordered a chumba HX2 frame. Took an additional 2 weeks for him to get a box?

Hes great if he actually has it in stock. Phone first.

Yes, sold an Enduro and built up a Canfield YS. Best choice I’ve made for a while. Great bike and its so much more fun. Every ride beats you up a bit more but you get more response on the trail and much more fun popping off bits and manualing. Easier to climb too. Bad parts are feeling a bit more roughed up (not really a bad thing personally) and on some trails your not able to ride as fast (but its still fun). I wont be going FS for sometime.

My duster was a great bike! Took a heck of a lot of abuse. Surprised how well it rode with just 100mm. Ended up as my hack bike. Never experienced the nervousness/twichyness that you described though..

^^ Really? I dont find it the same as having to get off my bike and undo the QR and choose the right height for the post before tightening it back up and get ridding again. Could be wrong ?!

To be honest I quiet like it. Think i’ll go for this over the reverb. If its designed like other thomson products I dont see there being a problem.

Trail looks good. Like a bandit..
I wish manufacturers would post weights up. Pet hate.
