All my mates ran flats and everybody I spoke to said SPDs are a terrible idea. I got a pair the other day just to try. What a game changer! Why did I not do this before?!

I tried to look for something blue on my ride. Found nothing. Felt disheartened so just drew something blue instead.. Poor attempt through strava.

I sold my Charge Blender a few years ago but I used it for everything hooligan. Use to ride 4x track, pump track, street, park and some DH stuff. I sold it to get a 29er for XC. No where near as playful and really missed how easy the blender was to chuck around. Recently bought a 650b explosif. Best bike I’ve owned to date! I’m back to playing more but equally I can ride 50 milers. Perfect for me.

Kona Explosif 650B. Ignore the wheel size. Go test it. Great geometry for all day riding but also fun descending. Happily done 50 mile rides and then the next day some DH runs at Gawton.

I’ve got a set of 650b revelations in black. I’d be happy to swap plus some cash my end. They are on my Kona Explosif at the moment. Spec on the Kona site.

Well, you bought my yelli which I didn’t get on with. I’m buying the burner so it obviously won’t suit you! I think they look great. Just need to save up the pennies.

My mates brother had the RS Cosworth. I remember how crazy fast that thing was. Only car I remember from my younger childhood. Unbelievably fast.

    tpbiker- yes. SL version.
Fitted the headset and was waiting to build it up but now looking at another MTB instead.

Sounds exactly like what I want. Can’t go to far here without including substantial amount of road. This would be perfect for linking all the offroad loops together. It’s only about 20km. (Plus, winter is only a few months away).

Notmyrealname- thanks for the offer but I won’t be heading to swinley for sometime.

Sounds good! Thinking of getting the rolling frame package.
Have you noticed how much slower you are riding on flat?

    Sorry, thread resurrection.
Just wondering how people are getting on with these?

I live in Colchester where everything is pretty flat. Only about 200m climb over 20km. How are these for just cycling on flat-ish stuff? Trying to work out how much slower i’ll ride. Not bothered about racing. Just want to have fun and ride for a couple hours a day. Is 30km of xc/singletrack comfortable on these bikes?

    Builds are looking great!
If anybody is looking for a 54cm, let me know.
I’ve got a new one unused sitting in the garage.

How far is it and how long did it take?

Looks great. The story line is so much better!
I got really bored of the last few- one character just killing everything. This looks awesome. I always end up ‘exploring’ and messing about half the time so I like the fact it has all the other stuff. Plus, ONLINE!!

Easton, Rock Shox, Charge saddles, maxxis, endura & HT pedals.
Everything else varies but on all my new bikes/builds I always revert to fitting thee above.

    Edit: all accidental!

I was waiting for a tesco router. They sent it via Hermes.
Brilliant service. Missed them twice as I was moving house.
Phone the mobile number on the card and arranged a hour slot when convenient for me. Was fantastic. No extra charge either.

All my bikes have had proII hubs and squeaky brakes as well as rattling from normal mechs and rubbing. Never bothered me.

Bought my new kona explosif. Revelation! Love how silent it is. Unbelievable really. Silent drivetrain, silent brakes, silent dropper & silent hub. Lovely. No way am I going back to a pro 2.

When I was a kid I got a new bike. I started taking off all the reflectors (because they are dead uncool). Ripped one off the wheel. The thing shattered sending plastic everywhere. One shard ended up in my eye so I was carted off to A&E at 11 at night (on a school day!!). Scratched eye and it was bloody painful for a long time.

    Haha, love it.
For those confused. Gwin was having a moan about the length of his bike. He felt cramped on his medium so moved to a large. One of his excuses.

1-4 hours a day. Doing my dissertation at the moment so it’s perfect time to procrastinate and just think about my work. Don’t want a real job!

    Hmm. I’ll phone DVLA monday.
Passed my driving test 4 years ago so it sounds like I need a new license.

    Cheers for the help!

I’d go Chameleon personally. Lighter and has the adjustable dropouts. I also love the tennis ball yellow.. The sizing suits me better too.

I did it with water on 2 pairs. No problem.
Water works to get them off too.

(Royal) blue is probably my favourite colour to twin with white. Raw would be my second choice..

Brant, any news on a fat front package? (sent an email).

Have you looked at the Turner Czar? Solid warranty and a great frame. Lots of money though and the DW platform isn’t for everyone.

Hmm, I’m a student. Swapped from Eon to Southern Electric and saved over £15 a month, making our bill half price. Was easy and we saved near enough £200 this year, which payed for our water. Job done.

Also saved £10 a month swapping internet provider. Easy change, same speed and package.

Not sure why it would be difficult?

I’d go for that kona. Great deal! Gives you £250 for a nice set of race wheels- Crests on ProIIs ?

I use to ride shimano. My old bike had an XTR drivetrain but I bought a new bike that came with X9/X7 bits and x9 type 2 mech. I really rate it. Not had any issues with shifting and the drivetrain is silent despite being a long cage on a 2×10- on par silence with my road bike and no chain slap. Covered a few hundred miles and not needed to adjust it, etc. Just fit and forget at the moment. the X7 shifter feels a bit plasticy so might change that at some point. Lovely setup though. Very happy.

    Mine worked fine yesterday afternoon..
BUT it keeps recording me as riding 10m from my actual route resulting in lost KOMs and generally annoying me.
