Loco- really nice that! Is that 650b? The new black pikes would look fantastic on that.

My dad told me that when he was a kid they had one of the first cars in the village. One day they when to town as a family. A dog walker was heading home along the road with the dog on a lead. As my Grandads car drove past, the dog ran in front of the car and the poor thing got run over and killed. Probably happened because it had never seen a car.
Just reminds me to be very weary of animals everything whilst driving/riding.

I got a day off school back in 2003 to see the last flight of Concord. Don’t think I’ll ever forget. Was very cool seeing it come in. The speech was great too.

Recently driving home at night, country lanes, at about 2 in the morning. I suddenly feel the car shake and make an awful noise. This got worse and worse so I stopped. Next thing a Chinook flies over me. Unbelievably low. Swear the fuselage touched the hedgerow. Scared the life out of me and then smiled.

I read an article a while back that said something along the lines of Apple being apple to freeze your camera in certain areas- e.g. around important government buildings or sensitive areas.

    Edit: Here it is.. http://www.infowars.com/apple-granted-patent-to-disable-cameras-according-to-location/

Should add that it dosen’t bother me, whether its true or not.

Awesome bike! Just one question- how do you seat the tyre correctly. Feels like I have heavily bucked wheels. I cant work out how to do it on these big tyres. I’ve always seated ‘normal’ tyres easily but not sure where to start with these..

I can confirm that the new 650b Explosif is an incredible bike. Just completed 1000km offroad in the last 2 months. I have to carry it over at least 10 stiles/gates every ride and I’ve never noticed the cable routing. 26” will fit fine. Especially with the sliding dropouts. Get one!

    Will nip into Timpson tomorrow.

I have.. did it in my first year. Used a Charge Blender with 710mm bars. It’s the widest you can use. The top (round the corner) and the lower bit was easy. The middle is very sketchy. Never did it again.

The Pandora Inn, Mylor, Cornwall. Had many birthday parties, celebrations and a graduation there..

Chainlocker, Falmouth, Cornwall. Special spot in the harbour. Lovely place.

Jacob’s Ladder, Falmouth, Cornwall. I lived next door so got mates rates, an annual tab, home delivery and lock ins. Awesome hippy spot.

It was at the top of these steps from town.. Lethal after a few Old Rosies at the pub on a winters night.

Edit: I use to work at the Old Bell, Aldworth. Wonder how many of you I’ve served 😯

Well, I can fit 29” wheels into my 650b frame… interesting results.

    That qualifying list is great!
Smith, Hart, Gwin & Hill are all up top. Sunday should be great.

    Haha, best commentary to date!

Bryceland did the route and conditions couldn’t be more different- wet, cold & foggy. Sunday should be good 😆

The UK has/will always be several steps behind the big EU countries.
Step in the right direction though.

”Also to be considered is that the vehicle that collided with you was the second vehicle following a hearse and limousine as part of a funeral cortege. Whilst you had the right of way in accordance with the Highway Code and Road Traffic Act a road user should be aware of traffic conditions around him/her. This would include any emergency vehicles at junctions that have an exemption in law regarding speed limits and traffic signs that whilst they still have to be prepared to stop at red lights for example, the drivers depend on the courtesy of other road users to allow precedence.

In the same manner, I would personally expect that if I were to see a hearse being driven with a coffin in the rear that there would be other vehicles following and I would allow the cortege to proceed by giving way even though I actually had the right of way. This is also something that the court would consider as mitigation were we to prosecute the driver in your case.”

Odd conclusion by the Cops, yet again.
Wonder what would happen if I took Boris (or some other MP) out with my car. Apparently nothing?

also rode straight out at junction onto main road.

Perfectly legal. No STOP sign there and the road was clear.

I’ve been fine. Running my chumba with xt long cage clutch and it has yet to drop a chain. I’m not a smooth rider either. My 2×10 setup on the kona has also been faultless.

I’d say just go for it. It’s worth testing it out for your setup. Worst comes to worst its east to put back on the chainring.

    Use something bigger.
When they finally come undone revel in your success for a split second before ripping your hand apart against the frame, cogs, chain or floor.

I’ve worked out that I need to earn £600 a month to break even- pay rent, bills, food, council tax, NI & student loan (with £30 disposable income).

I think that’s very cheap. £7,200 a year! You could make that on a part time minimum wage job. You won’t be living a life of luxury but you’d get by just fine.

I did something similar a few years ago.
It was for a hack bike. Worked fine for me for over 2 years before I sold it. It was an LX crank.

£5 is the most I’ve ever paid and that was for specialized (26”, 29”). Fairly annoyed with that to be honest. Found some online for £2.56 and they last just as long (funnily enough).

It took me years to realise that you can’t upgrade a bike that doesn’t feel right.

    So true 🙁

Yes, Kona Explosif 650b in 17”
First bike I’ve ever ridden that has clicked 100%.
How do you improve perfect? Add a dropper.

VW Touran? Lovely car, lots of space and I can get 55+mpg on the 10 mile run (half country side/half town). We had the 1.9 which was great and then moved up to 2.0 which is much more powerful but lose about 10% efficient.

My setup up; On-one rims with 4” floaters.
The tyres are so lose, I don’t see how they would run tubeless without burping all the time?! Any hints/tips?

I chose 18” and am the same height as well.
With the standover so low you get the added benefit of a longer TT on the 18” size so you can run a shorter stem.

It actually comes up smaller in all aspects apart from the seat tube size in comparison to my 17” Kona.
