They are great! Not run a front guide since fitting. No dropped chains.
I’ve noticed that the thin teeth are wearing faster. Lets see what winter does to it.

    What aracer said.
It was cheaper for me to be a named driver on a 59 touran than a 51 clio.

Went out for a ride in the poring rain the other day. Only realised halfway round that everything I had on was black apart from my helmet. Not good. Ordering some bright stuff shortly.

You should check out the Derby carbon rims. Cheap (reasonably) and 40mm wide. Seem to be getting some good reviews over on MTBR.

    The bloody oven/hob.
Started when I was moving out of my old flat. I was the last one there. Cleaned everything and locked up. As soon as I start walking down the road.. ‘You’ve left the oven/hob on, haven’t you’. Keys already handed in. It actually kept me up a few nights in my new house. I was convinced it was on and it would burn the house down. Turned it it was okay and I had turned the whole flat off by the switchboard.

Now I started doing it with my new flat and when visiting the parents. I’ve had to check a couple times before leaving the flat. Even coming back in after locking the door.

Must kick it. I’m usually very chilled and don’t worry about these things but this weird oven/hob thing is annoying me.

Just go for your usual ride and if there happens to be a nice set rolling in then ride the dunes and paddle in.

Only just posted this in another thread but..
The cycle to the pub via the creek path is much faster than driving by car. Takes 25 minutes by bike and close to 40 by car. Even with taking the photos I was faster. Very satisfying.

Took a lovely long ride down the creek path to a pub and back. I’ve been riding the fat bike a lot recently so getting back on this was a pleasant change. Lots of ‘pop’, faster rolling and so much fun. Felt like cheating! (Sorry about the poor phone pictures)

    Dream bike right there!
    You’re just missing a dropper..
Do you use pro pedal/lockout much on the shock?

Not noticed a massive change in speed on the trails I ride. I’ve actually stolen a few KOMs and a couple PBs.

^ How do you get the scooters/motorbikes out of that? Do you have to go up the escalator?

I remember seeing this is in Munich

They’re fantastic! Haven’t ridden my other bikes since building this up. Not sure why either. I also managed to steal a KOM on it the other day.

Bought the On one rolling chassis and then bolted bits on from bargain finds. Spec includes XT/SLX drivetrain, Truvative cranks, Avid BB7 brakes and Kona finishing kit. Cheaper and better than the stock build.

I’ve just built my fatty up for £700.
Good spec and reliable. Mine weighs just under 34lbs.
I can’t see how the nicolai could be 3x better but it will be more bling and maybe slightly lighter.

Popped into Asda to get dinner for one.. came out spotted this. Double niche! 36” unicycle meets fatty.

Kingdom bikes do a nice flat 730mm Ti bar for sub £100..

Sounds like the Santa Cruz Solo or Bantam. They can both take 130-140mm fork. Alternatively there is the Turner Burner, Kona Process and the new Treks.

My student house last year was awful. It was an upstairs flat. When you took a shower the neighbours kitchen (below) would always flood. Went on for months. When a house mate had a bath it brought the ceiling down. Apparently it was our fault for flooding the bathroom floor (never happened). Turns out that when you stepped into the bath it would compress and leave a small gap in the pipes for water to pour out.

My old Foia has to be up there, especially with the DT forks.

I ride a HT out of choice. I’ve had a huge range of FS bikes but I always turn back to HTs. I just find FS bikes boring and sterile. I’ve found it faster on the trails I ride. FS does have its place though.

Love Dartmoor! Those pictures look great.
Reminds me of a dissertation I did a couple of summers ago. Took 2,300 measurements across 70 Tors/clitter fields. Took the bike along for most of them. Would love to spend a few nights wild camping like that.

Couldn’t get my bike in the picture as the sign was to high.
    I ride a Kona ??????? 650b.

Edit: Topic for next could be something like ‘forgotten things’

Can they really be that bad? Tesco use them. Received various bits from them, including fragile stuff with minimal packaging, with no issues.

Shimano need to team up with Canfield to get a 9-42t cassette. Would be a great range and still substantially cheaper than the sram stuff.

I’d just buy a new BB. Not worth risking your frame threads for that.. Keep it for spares.

A recent bike I had. Hit every branch on the way down..
Weighed next to nothing and was a great ride. Couldn’t tell you what it was made from from its ride characteristics though.
