Got the 3″ ones on Dually rims, run tubeless, no issues and loving them.
Only tried the Knards otherwise but much prefer the Chronicles, grippier but still roll well.

Just bought a cage off the ads, which I’m probably not likely to use tbh, so would sell it if you’re interested. It didn’t come with the straps, but any compression straps fit. £6 posted.

Great, thanks I’ve decided to stay unemotionally detached and honor the e-mail but non-thread response.

All buyers have been perfect gentlemen/gentlewomen about it tbf.

    Cheers.

    Cash on collection confuses.

Thanks, I thought e-mail should count, just the other buyer(s) can’t see that, so I feel a bit bad.

220mm steerer length, nude carbon colour, standard QR, few scratches but nothing serious, pictures available on request. Unsure of exact model, had it a while though, just not used that much anymore. £200 delivered.

Bluetooth headphones are the answer to tangled cables. Dance tunes make me ride faster so I don’t usually get people riding and shouting behind me (I think) ;-)

Usually pop one ear off if there are people around or on the road.

Do it properly, leave the car behind and do a Welsh off road trip, ;-)

Got my boy a 24″ as didn’t want an Isla hybrid and the mtb’s are pricey. Very impressed and it’s very light. Better price than Isla too. Evans have got some ex-demo going cheap now too (£245).

Oh man that sounds very interesting Sam. Oh dare I? How much are the new blue Swift forks?

Ah, he’s already bought a fork for the wheel so he’s keen.
I’ll let you know if anything different happens though.

It doesn’t fit in the blue Swift fork (same as I have), but I had a carbon Niner fork on it. Probably selling the both now (and putting the Swift back to its original set-up as I have the Krampus) but I think a friend has bagsied the wheel as he saw me having too much fun so wants it.

The grip (of which there is a lot) makes it so much fun.

    see fatlads post.

I have a Rabbit hole with 3″ Knard front wheel I’ll be selling now (as I’m converting the Swift back to it’s former glory) but think it’s sold already to a mate as he saw me having lots of fun on it.

Really good fun though. Just fat front is quite a good compromise tbh, but I wanted a bike for bike Adventure rides.

I tried a 3″ front wheel on my Singular Swift and loved it. I’m in the Chilterns, so not very technical riding just fast singletrack, and it seems ideal for the trails here. Loads of grip and rumbles over roots and horse churned trails. Feels nicer and more fun than having a suspension fork in my opinion (maybe still in the honeymoon period though).

So I then bought a Krampus. It’s slower to accelerate than the Swift and harder/draggier on the climbs now I have a fat back tyre too, which is probably due to the extra weight too. Moving from fat front to fat front & back is much like you’d expect the changes to be from hardtail to full-sus.

It’s not very draggy but the steering feels slightly odd/pully on the tarmac when turning. It’s just fun just blatting over things as the tyres just soak it up more than a standard tyre and suspension would at times too and the grip is AMAZING.

Keep the family to the blue route and it’ll be fine. There is a playground and pumptrack too.

The red is pretty tricky (for red) in places and the black downright scary at times. You can’t see the trail/whats coming up at times too but it really is a good idea to check what your about to go down. Annoying as it really interrupts the flow of the ride.

The linking trail is wiiide and hardpack with loose tones on, like an NCN trail, so fast but then slow right down for the techy parts and then back off racing along the cycle path again which is all a bit odd.

Nice location, facilities will be great and good for a training type of ride. Not somewhere I’d keep going for a fun days riding though.

Pay for parking and ride for free.

    Thanks.

Hmm need to change my settings or something as I didn’t see any finished ebay listings in the UK.

Prefer to sell off of e-bay tbh.

Will take them off the bike this weekend (if I don’t get a chance before) take pictures and measure up, but they are on a large frame so steerer is fairly long still and they are the black/natural carbon colour.

Wouldn’t mind but I’m not sure I have the technical ability to wipe and reload. Wipe yes, reload no. Might try it after I have a replacement ready (defeats the purpose I know, but it could be my back up then).

Are there any recommended accessories I should get for the One+ if I buy from the linky? such as data cable as it doesn’t come with one, screen protector, etc.

    Cheers

Ah yes the Z1, thanks, it does look good.

However I hadn’t heard of the one plus at all and it looks like it could be just the ticket, thanks very much I’ll go read up on that.

    Cheers.

smooth cycle path all the way to Forges Les Eaux then it’s a mix of roads and cyclepaths.

You should do the British Heart Foundation London to Paris off-road. It is over 3 days but what you can do is aim to be riding/on the bike for under 24hrs. It obviously avoids some road then and uses off-road trails but they are doable on a CX bike. Oh, or do you want it all smooth?

Looks amazing. I’m going in June. You’d better not have used up the quota of good weather! ha, definitely all used up ;-)

Ah yes remember seeing your seat post bodge, great stuff. Yeah reckon I’ll get alpkit.

You’re never far from needing to be rescued there.

Nice. Did it last year. Will have to do it again this year it was so good.

What bags are you using there?

That be the only pub in the village (i believe) – it’s in the old factory immediately on the left as you drive into the village. Entrance tricky to find on the nearest end, opposite side, through big solid door (we thought we may get not come back through again).

Had the same initially very scary but then very pleasant experience there.

Yep you’re avoiding it (the top part) with that route. Trouble we had last time was that it was so overgrown as the sheep (and cyclists) hadn’t been along it keeping it clear.

The good news is that BOA have a lifelong warranty.

The bad news is that it’s needed, mine died VERY quickly.

I have HyRd. They need something like Jagwire compressionless housing and then they are really rather good.

Tempted to go full hydro now they’re available but not sure it’s worth the extra £ from what I currently have now tbh.

Thanks. Yeah I just went alongside it, just wondering they had or were doing anything to it.

They need to get Derbyshire council involved (as long as they don’t touch anything else), they love filling up trails.

Wingnut 2.5 is ace and just sits on the lower back, sorry very breathable. Side pockets are accessible while riding too which is sooo useful too.

Just having a big compartment allows more storage than you’d think too.
