I have dually rims, tubeless chronicles and 1×10 XT which still feels heavy. Feel there is a fair bit of weight to lose in the f&f.

Ohh a Chinese carbon f&f could be just the ticket, where would one look to get one from? Slightly wary so any recommendations would be good. Thanks.

Get people tipsy and/or buzzing with a coffee and then sell them expensive bike kit (which they of course need).

If it’s a good location I would definitely go personally (although not to Leeds, I live miles away). Depends on all the extra red tape of doing so, but it sounds great as a potential punter.

    For that reason ‘I’m in’.

    oh I like that, thanks.

Plenty more to add to it though – can Joe Bloggs add to it?

    Now wheres one for pubs…

I rarely used the drops until I changed the bars for something (Cowbells) with a bit more flare which made them soooo much nicer to use and now I use them a lot more.

They’ll be shorter than you were once used to, but it does sound like you’d definitely be best on a medium, not large. Vitus & Canyon are both good value for money but thats because you buy direct, something which sounds like it’s not best suited to you at the moment tbh, you’d be better to sling your leg over some bikes at a local bike shop. They’ve both got a lot of travel, something I think new riders are drawn into getting too much of. Saying that I’m sure you’ll enjoy whatever you get – I’d personally go with the Canyon, in a medium.

Brilliant, thanks people I’ll order a Bialetti.

Getting annoyed with the variability of my current stove top.

Yeah it’s quite a jump from the green to the blue and perhaps needs a suggested shortcut on the blue.

We always do our best to get out of the way of riders approaching but sometimes can’t move out the way fast enough for some strava ****ts who act like complete toss pots. Really, trying to race there on a Saturday or Sunday morning is not the time to set you pb, and swearing at kids!

You’re not allowed to use it on the assessment, but they’re fair game when leading. You’ve got to show you’d be ok if it isn’t working you see.

Sat map is the easiest to use and see clearly, especially when on the move. Other screens are pretty small although the new garmin 1000 is good.

Doesn’t sound like it does anymore tbh – they’re living it up, riding bikes and using your (and many others) money to fund it on all accounts.

My bag arrived many moons (years) ago but not many people in the meantime seem to have received anything. Not even an e-mail response.

Does anyone knows where they got the bags made?

Mine work. Kind of. Fine for riding but they are sometimes a little soft after being left a while, or flat after a long while – which I’ve just discovered after being away a few weeks.

I had one exactly like that for sale. Sold it. Sorry.

When looking about for ideas on price to sell I saw some in the USA who would post.

The lollipop route is my favourite version of Torridon too.

There are still Tuesday night riders left from the Mtn High group who arrange rides here: http://goodrideguide.com/ Mostly starting north & west of Reading.

haha I knew i’d get more (than usual) silly answers with this topic.

Found a couple of places that don’t mind it going in a meeting room if its available. Didn’t know about the new bike storage at the station though but that could be very handy.

Brighton is very open minded place, unlike you prudes.

Over towards the Hove end is fine.

    No offence taken.

Basically the date change has caused some concerns.

Whoops, I love/hate the way things can be taken out of context. So sorry I’ll backtrack, I was uncomfortable using the word sinister.

Just wondering why they don’t mind an event going up there in March. Yes some bits could do with being improved and I think this might be being used as a catalyst. Good or bad.

    I won’t post for a while next time ;-)

It is the park that has requested the event uses this specific area (so effectively those trails).

The date was then changed/brought forward significantly (don’t know why exactly) and the park Ok’d it.

I don’t know the park reasons for this tbh and wonder if they are just misguided or more sinister. I’m hoping and advising the bhf to make changes.

Also, I think there is a limit of around 200-250 cyclists for events in the dark peak now.

Anytime is dodgy – The country is water logged now, in August!

What has happened is that the park wanted the route to be within the derwent Valley area, so those routes were about the only ones possible. Then the date of the event was later moved.

I’m trying to persuade everyone involved that it should be changed. Route or date.

I have a feeling the park is directing or happy for it to happen like this so they can resurface cut gate or something.

This is quite interesting (if you’re interested in it) … http://oldglorymtb.com/round-up-alternative-or-alt-mountain-bike-handlebars/

Got some Jones and really like them, but could do with some the same but cheaper to fit on all my other bikes now.

Can’t get any response from that company at all re the BBS02 motors – anyone know where else I can get them?

    Thanks.

Nice. I love my Jones loop bars and want them on my other bikes now, but they are expensive – so what are the bars on this?

    singletracksurfer

Yeah appreciate it really won’t be much different in weight. I’m looking for excuses for a change though so humour me ;-)

He wasn’t on the BHF event but I sent the event medics to him (as they were just along the trail) and they kept him stable until the ambulance and airlift could get to him. He was in a bad way but I haven’t heard any more news after he left in the chopper though.

I didn’t swap the cable locking bolt over, just don’t use it and pull a bit of extra cable through so its more responsive. Also the stock pads are useless if its at all wet and you need good compressionless cable outer (like Jagwire).

    Great brakes though.

I have the same issue. Some cables are for charging only and some for data (and charging) I believe.

Brilliant, thanks. BBS02 looks like it could be just the ticket.
Not fussed about being road legal (I’ll be off-road).

    Thanks very much.

Time to move the branches around repeatedly on the guys head then… in the forest of course ;-)

Yep a rather underrated location with lots of fast singletrack. Good on all bikes, just get to go faster with suspension.

Grim’s Ditch near Wallingford is a great example that you don’t have to have lots of height gain to make a great trail.

I got caught by one few weeks back. Neck height. I was going fast and only just saw it last second and just managed to get my shoulder in the way. Stopped me dead and cut through my top and pretty deep into my shoulder – would have made easy work of a neck.

OK I wasn’t on a bridleway, but it is a wood on the edge of a village which everyone has walked and cycled through for many years. Popular place for kids to ride too.

    Wasn’t impressed with Spyre’s.

Hy-Rd’s on the other hand are ace, especially once the (unless dry) stock pads were changed and compressionless outers added.

The lollipop route does it for me. The climb from Annat is a good challenge.
Ok, a very hard challenge, but you get to look at the view while catching your breath between attempts.
