Which would you recommend then Ben?

She’ll be car-less and there for 1 week. Davy looks good for days when not going to Disneyland with lots of stuff for the kids, but says it doesn’t have transport to the park.

And then I realised that clean is actually how British attractions should be. haha love it.

    Ah yes, mumsnet.

DezB – I’m not going, not my cup of tea, or my 2 boys, but my sister and her 4 girls will love it.

Will mention the Dragon to her.

    Thanks TP that looks nice.

Ha funny you say that about the booking – on the French site it came out at Euro 1,700, then when I went back in another way, all translated into English, it was £1,900!

Haha yeah a 1:4 child/adult ratio is not my idea of a good holiday!

Thanks, that’s the kind of alternative I was looking for. Hopefully it includes entry to Disneyland as it came out at £1300. It seemed to but annoyingly Google translate fails me when it gets through to the last part. I found a nice hotel with pool etc (without tickets) at £700, so this would be comparable, and as you say, nicer. Thanks.

or an alternative to a hotel would be good.

I have those hooks which didn’t fit a 3″ tyres. Vice and mallet means it does now.

A few flavours, available in single packs, and below RRP here http://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/Nuun-tablets—various-flavours

You can stash so much in the zipped and mesh pockets of the Wingnut, it’s soooo useful and the weight sits really low so they are super comfy. I hate and can’t get on with the feel of standard backpack position now.

Can’t find Gravity Dropper anywhere though.

How much was the eTen from Italy?

A friend has a Thompson which he had issues with but he discovered storing it with it down/compressed has helped.

Yeah Reverb’s haven’t lasted all that well for me.
The Giant cable one has actually done pretty well though.

jekkyl – afraid I don’t know what’s wrong with your e-mail address in the profile, it’s bounced back twice. Doh.

Thanks people. E-mailed people with addresses in profile.

I’m north of Reading (Emmer Green) I’m afraid oceandweller. If postage isn’t too much hassle I’ll happily pay or try and meet sometime but that usually proves pretty tricky tbh as I work most weekends.

I’m using old bike parts to do some ‘bike art’ with the kids.

yeah I was hoping for old worn out ones which were beyond selling tbh as I appreciate you can get a few quid for them otherwise.

hmm, looks resounding so far. Darn, I just ordered the Thompson off off CRC thinking it was my only/best choice until I just came across the KS now.

    Thanks.

Never really use Fb, but managed to find the group, thanks.

I have the OPS, which still lacks mounts though. What frame bag do you use/recommend out of interest? I have a large seat pack and bar bag already, but wanted the pannier option for other (non bikepacking) duties.

What 29+ did/do you have? I love my krampus and not ridden a fat extensively but although fun and masses more grip I’m still not sure I need to get fully fat. Please convince me (my wife) otherwise.

I really fancy a Jones plus or something which will run 29+ and fat tyre options, like a Lamere.

I find height measurements change often vary and they might well have used mapping software to calculate the stats.

Open your (gpx) file elsewhere and you’ll probably get different stats again.

Yep you do get a few riders who like to tell kids and anyone to get out there @#+& way, while on the blue route. They must be ever so fast and breaking records. On a weekend morning too

We always get out the way as soon as we can but one time my boy fell off when someone was buzzing his wheel and he swore and shouted at him for falling in his way and slowing him down. Nice intro to mtb’ing that was.

On One merino. Wear once merino. Thin socks shrink immediately, t-shirts become quite stiff/rough and thick tops shrunk to miniature felt tops. Thick socks have been ok though.

Bugger just seen this (and need to replace my 5.10’s), but none of the codes work – anyone have a new one that does?

    Thanks.

Got a krampus and love it, so much fun and versatile. 29+ works best for me I think.

Krampus is a tad heavy though for fast racy type riding, so I’m planning to sell it (size large if anyone is interested) and import a carbon lamere frame & fork. Taking a while to make the plunge though as the krampus is so much fun and a LOT cheaper.

Great thanks. Thought it was dirt trails, so would be muddy, so hardpack is good news.

Forgot about Genesis. Be interested to hear about this German one.

Er pretty average/accurate I’d say. I have them as a rear with a knobblier tyre up front and really like the combo (unless it’s pretty slippery mud).

As mentioned it drains off well, apart from across the moors on the top. Don’t attempt them and try to minimise water crossings as the stepping stones might be under the water.

Plenty of other non mtb brands about too.

Haibike are good. Use bosch motors which are the best. Yamaha also meant to be good. Around 5kg for the motor and another 3kg for the battery. Only an issue when lifting the bike tbh.

Great idea, and fun. Sure he’ll love it.

I’m pretty sure you can’t get gpx files off Viewranger. It’s just for use on their App.

Haha I had to come on here to vent my anger about wendyball behaviour from Sexton. Glad to see others feel the same. Commentators didn’t say anything.

So our new place was previously the last abode for a very old couple… It had a keysafe near the front door for carers etc etc.

Same here, but we don’t know the code to get into it. So locks have all been changed now and we’re left with a useless little grey box on our wall.

Heard lots of people sign the praises of Wingnut bags when suffering any back or shoulder issues (as the weight is taken on the hips instead).
