thanks. i've already got a couple of the fenix torches too but need something else – might just get 2 p7 torches then.

which is the one to get as there seem to be a few 900(!) lumen ones on the website?

hmmmm, or do I go for a couple of the P7 flashlights?

    2 P7 lights + 4 batteries + charger + mounts = $99 (v's $80 for bike light)

is it just me or do others not rate the Jacobs Ladder route too highly (in relation to other trails around – I'm not dissing the Peaks).
    :D
If you do do it I think its better to come down it i.e north to south.

Teh fall guys route link is good – but the other way around (well it is an MBR route).

My wife might think I'm trying to tell her something if I get bathroom scales.

best to dismantle if at all possible – its a size thing not weight (as long as its under 25kg). Get the wheels, bars etc off and ask again.

Parcel 2 Go (who use DHL) might be worth a shot.

its for weighing (bike) luggage to go on plane.

not fussed about my bikes weight – I'm a much bigger (weight) problem.

thanks. yeah my thinking was more towards option 2 for techy off road.

I've used trailers before when doing long & mostly non technical days, but hope to be light (hence bivvy not tent) as this will be technical & hilly so like the idea of a lighter bike.

ok need to rethink things maybe. i'm riding off-road for 3 days on technical trails so don't want to take the trailer – whats the best way to pack – minimum stuff on my back & load the bike up?

I've got a rack & panniers but thought something like this might be better instead:

Surrey Hills are excellent, but don't overlook the Chilterns.

Lucky 13! Bloody hawthorn hedge had been cut and distributed generously on a downhill section.

Another time a barbed wire fence was hidden on the ground – made a mess of both tyres, tubes and me. Much more effective than disc brakes.

had a thermorest in peru when I walked the inca trail – bloody thing was flat as a pancake – stupidly I hadn't checked it beforehand. Rough few days.

Got a Alpkit one – seems very nice, but haven't used it lots……yet.

I'd ask Alpkit about yours – they seem very nice guys and probably happy to help.

B@stards. i'll keep a look out – exactly the bike i'm looking for.

Might get myself a bargain in flea-bay ;0)

Hopefully it'll get spotted you don't see (m)any around 2nd hand.
    What colour, etc?

    anyone?

thought mine felt quite fast, including on the road. not felt too unstable either (have the wider 2.3 – which are like 2.1's really).

What MTB recommended them a while back, but recently slated them & i've seen other bad reviews – wonder if i've got too used to them and would actually be better on something else. hmmm

    think all food needs them.

    thanks.

I have no knowledge of road tyres so was unsure of what was 'worth' spending.

got some old 'training' tyres but wanted something bit faster for long / group rides. happy to spend a around £20 odd a tyre so might see if I can find a deal on any mich pro race or conti gp4000s

wingnut, but they are hard to find and expensive.

I like my Vaude with mesh back, but it has developed an annoying squeak near my ear which is very annoying.

old n trusted camelbak. i've still got one which has been going strong for aaages.

oh good I like the sound of non competitive.

I was slightly worried as to what I'd just entered in for.

As long as there are other novices like me there I should be able to blend in.

    thats the one robbo.

thats good news. I saw reference to timing matts & target times plus people talking about PB's.

oh its a sportive, so maybe it won't be so horrible. Are they less competitive or something?

Roadies always seem very serious to me, so I was imagining it'd be quite intimidating.

Better clean my CX bike I suppose.
