Downs Link actually starts due east at Martha's Hill. Can follow the Pilgrim's Way to it or follow the Wey South Path, (south) alongside the river to black footbridge going over the river, near Peasmarsh and go left. Downs Link starts over the A281 – where it is all flat and easy going (Martha Hill section to Bramley has rougher and steeper trails).

Choice of pubs etc in Cranleigh and Southwater or the pub in Partridge Green looked ok.

    Thanks for that.

yeah you can just stop the DD through the bank.

Also set a reminder in Outlook with the address. Easy enough.

yeah I have reservations about typing any key words into google (or the like).

What about speaking to family about the idea – is that allowed before applying for the patent!?

I'm thinking long term for this as after all the design, manufacturing hassle etc) it wouldn't be worth it.

I've got a NDA written up but kinda feel I need to get the Patent rolling before I start talking to manufacturers etc.

Next step is getting a professional search done I reckon, then if all clear, getting a Patent written up (again by a professional) – Agree/Disagree, advice where to go?

thanks Brant, I might do that.

just worried I would be too slow to get it 'out' everywhere myself.

They have a Patent pending on the Neoguard I discovered.

hmm think I need to get a professional patent search done next then (any recommendations appreciated).

will do – you can have a free one.

Great i'll get a NDA sorted out and a patent in time if necessary.

    thanks VERY much.

    1. Yes it can be made (but not by myself very well)
    2. Yes it is new I believe. I can't find anything on the market and the esp search showed nothing.
    3. Um. Its a simple design but wouldn't say its obvious or I am sure someone would have done it.

Yeah I'm positive the manufacturer would make the most £'s.

Reason for Patenting it is that sorting out the manufacturing of it myself would be a big (new) job, so having someone copy the idea could leave me screwed. Kinda want someone already in the business to take it on and I get a cut – so presumed I'd need to protect my idea or they could just use it and leave me high and dry.

ha – good advert palcement at side of this thread for 'making your ideas into products' with Davison.

is something like the Neoguard (RRP mud guard) patentable?

I know its Trademarked, but that doesn't mean people can't copy their product…does it!

I think my idea has some similarities (not is what it does etc) but in the simplicity of the design, etc.

    anyone tried the banana?

    singletracksurfer

yeah ok. sometimes some of these things are disgusting i.e. fake banana, sweet crappy cola, etc.

think i'll stick with the citrus ones.

can you use slime meant for inner tubes in tubeless tyres?

where is the best (cheapest) place to get Mr Stan's juice?

I've had some pinch flats from hammering downhill, but otherwise been ok.
Go with slime. Less to carry on your back.

Got those ergo grips (with bar ends). Great for long rides – much comfier. Not so good for technical riding sometimes, but that won;t be an issue on the SDW.

tyres will depend on the weather as it can get very slippy.
If you liked the SK I'd get more of them from here
    http://www.on-one.co.uk/c/q/tyres-and-tubes Bargainous.

I quite like slime tubes when on big rides and don't want to be fixing punctures, but would have thought you'd be ok without on the SDW and you won't have the extra weight of them.

Mr A. Yup, got couple of changes that need to be checked, honest, 😉

OK. will keep a look out for riders here http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=463335&y=177550&z=120&sv=463335,177550&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=691&ax=463335&ay=177550&lm=0 'til shortly past 9am if anyone fancies it.

First did the whole Ridgeway yeeaaars ago on a Zasker. Rally looking forward to it and modern technology this year. First half is kinda like the SDW (gets the miles and climbing in) but the last half is great fun.

i'm in Reading but cycle out to meet at Whitchurch (Pangbourne) for 9am.
steady day of riding, taking it as it comes. will cut it shorter if ground is hard work.

*checks where I am* Off route of course!

It is raining now but I am hoping the dry dry ground is soaking it all up.
(it just means all the dust will be gone – honest)

multi – more/esier release points – for beginners
single – more secure (ones which most people ride – although I've not asked everyone).

ebay or Chainreactioncycles are always a good bet as no postage.

got some but haven't ridden that bike much.

fast, seem better under higher pressure, bit sketchy in loose or wet corners, clear well .

no trouble with sidewalls yet but ripped a knobble off on a very fast flinty descent which was annoying 👿

thanks. like the look of the Omega.

Our current tent is big and difficult to put up so I definately need a new little one thats easy to manage.

ASDA it is as a back up though – there is one on route.

thanks, thats the one I was thinking of.
Is it proper right of way (for cyclists) now or still technically a footpath?
