I’ve got a Witter one which is good. Proper 4 bike one with tilt function so you can get in the boot still. Around £450. zx404 or something like that.

Some poor/brave/foolish girl had borrowed her brothers downhill bike last year (with downhill tyres still on). She still managed to finish though. Semi slicks should be okay if it’s very dry.

aha they look good, thanks 🙂

    How stiff are they?
I’m used to carbon soles, so want something fairly rigid if possible.

or newer, brighter, better (and cheaper than the 872 you linked to) http://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/off-road-mtb-light-pack.html

    or I’ve got an 872 and 2 x 828’s I want to sell (now I’ve upgraded to the 880).

I’m a subscriber from the very start (issue 1) and never had a freebie 🙁

Don’t want to cancel then re-subscribe just to get one, but thats the way it works.

bugger, thought that might be the case. Thanks very much.

    Freeview pvr would suffice. Thanks.

Another without helmets here. We are usually off road though.
Helmets make them hot and uncomfortable (so whingy).

Always liked topeak the best. Current one has everything and it all works.
Only annoying thing is 8mm hex key cap fits on the 5mm key so you have to keep taking it on and off

I thought i did, but now he’s a bit older he is less cute and more cheeky.

traffic was an utter ‘mare getting home, but the kids were still so high, they stayed awake all the way home 😯

Loved that kids face when they won the balance bike, then they just took off on it.

My 7yr old lad is desperate to do the lake jump after learning to jump in the mulch pit. We couldn’t get him away from it all weekend. He ran up over 40 jumps. Dad was too chicken to do 1.

I like them and even short people seem to like them now 😉
    Suck it and see.

I find it great for fast singletrack stuff, not so much the tight, slow twisty singletrack.

The DB route is good if you want to get across the country quickly and this route is great if you want more challenging trails http://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/mtbike/2012/06/new-welsh-coast-to-coast/

Got the SatMap and teh Garmin 800. Much prefer the SatMap for navigation. Bigger and rattles around a bit more, but great screen and more than enough stats for me. Garmin neater, lighter and good for training.

You should get a Genesis iO for under £200 (I sold mine for £120).
Fun bike (if a little bumpy).

the main Olympic venue was the same – LOOOOADS of very happy, polite, funny volunteers made it a great experience (even though the food ran out as a late delivery couldn’t get through in time, in case it had a bomb in).
