Indoor pics weren’t great but it was pretty robust and took some good pictures out and about as mr a says. Some good deals on line too.

I still shy away from the subject when my wife (keeps) asking me when I’m going to have it done. Makes we wince. Good luck.

hmm ok, sounds best of both worlds (as I quite want to ride some new trails). Has anyone got any route ideas (GPX’s) or anything for over the Stipperstones way please?

Thanks. Long mynd was my first thought and/as I know it, but what’s the new trail like at ludlow?

I’ve got large with size 44 (Shimano) shoes and they are pretty tight. Stretch them too much and you will start to get tears I’d think so would have thought the size up.

Same as fbk says. Might stick the xl on the back as a pivots& shock protector.

I find the increased traction of the 29er helps me get up the hills faster.

I looove my Howies ones. Also had/have an Endura Baa Baa which is pretty good too, but if you want cheap, Decathlon have got some great bargains at the moment.

Thanks I’ll have a look into all those mentioned (although my short list of phones just keeps growing). I was expecting something chunky and probably bright yellow like the http://www.jcbphone.co.uk/handset-range but they all look very normal.

    what is 10GBP?
I’ve got the voucher for a further £10 off too :-)

Northwave do look better with the Velcro tucked out of sight.

yeah the northwaves are nice and light and look good, but they are quite narrow and CRC have the Shimanos at £105

Love mine. I ride it all over: Chilterns, peaks & Wales. Fast bike, but happy doing the techy stuff. Replaced my epic, but it is definitely better on the rougher stuff than the epic was.

I keep one of these in my bag for mtb’ing http://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/Lock.html
stops opportunist thieves, but of course won;t hold off anyone properly prepared, but then most things won’t or will weigh more.

    these are awesome http://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/off-road-mtb-light-pack.html

they won the bike light test in MBUK this month. Budget (if you can call over £100 that), but great performance. Had to turn my down last week as I was casting a shadow for the riders in front of me with their Hope and Exposure lights.

Mine have been fine (also got 808’s which are 3+ years old with no problems), but I would think Hope, Exposure, etc should last longer though. Bulbs will have changed again to something better by then though too.

I’m looking to change my Vito & was tempted by the vivario. Gets mixed reviews though. Vito is starting to go rusty now but I’ve liked the drive – I did come from a long, and high top transit van though. What are the newer transits like?

Transporters are nicest if you have the dosh.

weldtite external repair (sticky strips) are great. Used same style on car punctures too and its great. Used as permanent fixes for me.

true, i’m not too fussed with weight but the battery is very bulky.
Previous batteries were tidier, but I’d prefer bulk and long life (seemed short on its first run though, so maybe needs a couple of runs and good charges). Well sealed and easily mounted though.

I used it last night, with an 872 on the helmet. Bloody awesome.

Cars kept stopping down the lanes, which I thought was very polite, until I saw them shielding their eyes. Whoops.

Had to turn it right down when not riding at the front though as I was casting massive shadows for the rider in front.

Not run it for very long, but it does seem pretty robust and is amazing for the money.

Its only a few quid and well worth the time saving for most people faffing around making their own bodged version, which looks ugly.

Marsh Guard – how did they get away copying the Muckynutz design – or have they?

won’t be long until we see them going around 24hr races…solo :?

I need OS maps too. Pretty easy to navigate though as not too many choices and numbers on marker posts.

There was a route guide in MBUK recently.

I use (bought) Anquet mapping – who always seem to have some ‘special’ deal on.

Subscribed from the start here too, but just recently gave them away or recycled them, except for issue 1 (I hope).

yes, it was a sweeping statement, hence ‘in short’.
ridden/test quite a few bikes and thats my overall opinion (not everyone’s, and not definitive) :-)

agree with that. In short, 29ers are faster but less fun.

MJ880 won the test in MBUK mag last month. Looks very similar to the mtbbaterries one.

sweet, thanks guys. I was in the (Dark) Peak doing another event that weekend – not the 3 Peaks though.

Dartmoor is great. I was down there earlier this year and so eager to get back down. Hopefully I’ll be able to do it next year.

Did you CX or mtb it?
