Cool. wondered how they were doing as I hadn’t seen one in a while (in Chilterns). Everyone laughed at me for ages when I said I’d seen one.

Time for a stealth solo ride.

Thanks all. No reply from YHA but I found a place called Hikers and Bikers in Hadfield that should fit the bill.

Yes, but heard mixed reviews. Well someone saying it wasn’t great on the building site (let’s dust etc in). Have you used one when cycling?

Thanks all. Ah Forecast to be a nice day and not sure I’ll be up too early either.
Think i’ll take bike and maybe give it a go. Doubt I’ll be riding too fast.

Thanks people thats been really helpful. Going to go van hunting tomorrow hopefully.

Really don’t need any more (expensive) gearbox issues. Hoping to get an automatic.

Ah, the Toureno could be good actually, thanks. My previous transits have always been reliable.

Never been attracted to Renaults before, but interested to hear of anyones experiences.

    edit thanks Northwind.

only replace mine when they are unfashionable, rather than ‘they may have deteriorated’.

Give it another year and just make sure you don’t fall off.

lovely thanks, great news. Thought I remembered it being closed briefly.

Thanks. Think he’ll live with it then as it is springy enough. I hate doing maintenance it always gets stressy and I cock it up.

hmmm, thats what I feared. To be honest he isn’t going to ride it hard or much, so it doesn’t really seem worth sending it off and I’m giving him the whole bike for £400 so I don’t want to foot the cost though and he’s at the top end of his (wifes) budget.

oh and that meant to read, service Brain rear shock (and fox forks…)

Minton batch isn’t massively long. Ridegeway is wide track along that part.

Which one is the wife? I know many trails and I thought their names too until this.
The labyrinth at swinley feels like it gets longer every time.

Doethie valley is long but doesn’t feel like St all the way and is broken by gates and getting lost in the bog. Still good though.

Thanks. I’m trying to whittle it down. Being indecisive and not able to test ride easily isn’t helping. Nor is adding more options to my list ;-) does look nice though.

Shaggy surely, he’s ss’d it too. Didn’t know his beard had gone white though.

I’m thinking about getting one after I work out how to justify another bike in an already full shed. Krampus, on one or mukluk. Any opinions?

I’m taking the CX bike (joke)

160 would be cheating. Short travel full sus at the most (so the hardtail).

Do we get to put in our own fastest lap at the end to see how we would fare against the big boys?

I thought the course was going to stay the same (as it was in the Olympics) with more chicken runs added – is that not the case (again)?

Hope to get down for one of these days anyway – how long will they run for – not until the weather gets better I fear?

ah hadn’t see the firefly ones before. Look a little light but possibly ok. Thanks.

Yeah I like the look of the Rapha stuff, just so expensive. Suppose, if it lasts you don’t buy twice (or more), and they have better features. Not totally sure about the pink flashes, but otherwise their stuff looks great.

are you not just trying to block the way of the others coming by, or at least get tangled and snag a lift for a bit :-)

yeah I was just thinking the same. oh and I see another advertising banner from them, above this reply, just saying… yep you guessed it 10% off.
