If we look way back, Kestral had a 2 shock bike at one time didn’t they? Was it the Rubicon?

@eddiebaby not sure it would be test in the mag, but I don’t see why not on the site ;)

@Rubber_Buccaneer I had a Google about and there are a few YouTube videos showing this and similar bikes after a few upgrades. Actually, look ok for trail center duties.

@tomhoward I didn’t speak to them about it simply because we have a story on the brew about Sick which Hannah is working on now. Her plan is to interview people at Sick to see what they have to say, I didn’t want to sour her chances of getting that arranged and published as it’s a pretty important story.

FYI we know of a contributor who has been messed about by Sick too, which is where Hannah’s story actually stemmed from. So keep your eyes peeled for that.

Also, someone called me a “Fanboi” of Sick’s because I posted a photo from their stand. The bike is actually owned by someone I know and who happens to be a rather cool guy. It’s not his fault he owns a Sick branded (actually Marino) frame ;)

@sharkattack the good news is that because it’s a Shimano motor any Shimano service center in the UK will be able to do any work. As for the battery, the current deal is YT would need to complete any work/warranty on it, but they hope Shimano service centers will soon be able to handle those in the near future.

I reviewed the Calibre Sentry here: https://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/review-calibre-sentry-review-an-ews-racer-for-2000/

Nobody was given the Sentry Pro to review and Pink Bike hasn’t tested one… @trumpton

Nope, I haven’t actually, but I’ll try and get out on it before it goes back. The reach on the Cotic is considerably longer than the Sonder, around 30mm difference on the medium. It will be interesting to see if it is as playful. I own a Shan GT, and would say the Sonder is more comfortable on the rough stuff but can’t be sure if that’s due to the ti frame or the big tyres as I only had a single ride on the Sonder.

I’ve ridden one. It was a medium I’m 178cm. It was shorter than my personal bike but so much fun!! Fast and poppy

I was a backer of the Zerotech Dobby when the launched it for crowdfunding in China (long story) It’s a pretty advanced piece of kit running a Snapdragon 800 series chipset. I’ve not used mine in a while but the last update I had brought with it face tracking and object tracking.

Object tracking worked well and allows you to follow someone at low-ish speed. Tested with my son cycling up and down the road. It wouldn’t work on the trails as it can’t keep up.

The camera on it is fixed so you have to get it where you want it (think there are 3 positions) before flying. Takes good photos, nothing stellar, but good enough.

Battery life is only about 10 minutes (if that). I’ll have to dig mine out again and see what new features it’s been given.

My son and daughter had a Ramones 20 in the past. Good bike and nice geo but heavy.

managing to guess at head angles and reach

Nope, just commenting that it looks long and slack. And yes, a bike that uses cutting-edge materials from a UK manufacturer is news…

    Hi chaps,

I’ve got a Shan No.5. Mine weighs in at 35lbs with pedals which sounds a bit much when I’m coming from lighter alloy and carbon bikes, but you only really notice the weight when lugging it about.

Considering this is the first full sus bike from them they have done a really good job of the quality of the travel. It has the usual “unlimited” suspension feel you get from other designs but remains playful and happy to hop off the trail with ease.

The steel construction really does seem to offer a bit more grip and it certainly is more comfortable over rocky stuff when compared to an alloy single pivot bike. Speaking with the guys at PP it does seem that the Shan No5 was designed for really long tough downhills and they used steel as it would be more comfortable so I do need to get it out to some monster trails and give it a proper testing.

Compared to other Shan’s the No.5 is much longer. I would normally ride an L in most other brands but went for the M/L with this and am more than happy with the length.

As I was in Fort Bill last weekend and heading to Tweedlove today, I won’t be able to ride it again until next week.

I will try and get first ride impressions up on STW in the next week or so.

Hi, we actually have the Bike Yoke “Revive” dropper on review here at Singletrack towers. So far it has been reliable and has a super smooth action. The Revive system works as advertised too. I’ll try and get a few words together and published with pics soon. Any questions in the meantime feel free to ask :D

Hi, good choice on the Session I’ve a few of them and they are great. They have a very wide angle lens so getting it in the correct position is pretty simple.

I have mine mounted on the side of my helmet and usually have the camera in line with my vision. Just pop your helmet on and ask a friend to line it up.

As for the app, yes it has live streaming so you can use the phone screen to help position it too. Hope that helps :D
