I really do find it offensive.

To the un initiated its kind of like if someone was dissing yo mamma. – It just gets to you.

TBH lots of people have dissed my mamma and it has never got to me and she's real and everything. I guess that if you are a strong enought believer in the fact that you Mum is a great person it really does not matter what people say about her.

No bow down and worship my mum (she really can read your mind!)

I find it ofensive when people say I will burn in hell for not thinking like them. Because I don't have an imaginary friend I don't have the cover it seems.

Mind if I tag along? I have the excuse of 2months off "proper" biking and, err, how can I put this…gears on my bike ;)

Went out today and some trails (ie all those Becca chose) were pretty muddy AND frozen..special FoD mud to do that!

I still like the great bands form the early 90's when I was a teenager (Slayer, Entombed, At the Gates, NoFX, etc) but it has expended to include other stuff (ambient electronica, post rock)

Thank you both for your shared views on terrorism and attacks upon aircraft. I expect you have sent your findings to MI5?

I am sure they are watching him unless he remembered to put on his tin-foil hat :)

hopefully lacks the unfortunate levels of seriousness and grumpiness seen at some races.

I hear that they are promising 20% less cock-end content than other races in 2010.

Perhaps take a leaf out of the customs and excise channels at the arrivials gate and have a "not a terrorist" and "Terrorist" green and red channels to go through?

I am happy to be searched at the airport and have not had an issue having my bags opened (including bike bag in Colorado 2 weeks after 9/11)

As to airport screening "because of all this kind of grist to the security service's mill, I refuse to fly anymore"? WTF? You think that all of MI5 and 6 are sitting in the departure lounge watching for people "looking funny"?

I am sure Sheldon will be along shortly (or when he is sober) to let you know if there are any places left or a waiting-list.

All Iain M Banks – Use of Weapons and Excession are great :)

Greg Bear – Queen of Angesl or the Forge of God / Anvil of Stars linked books. Darwins Radio is also pretty good byt damn depressing (makes Children of Men look like Playschool!)

    JG Ballard – Millenium People

Wow, that is one hell of a humbling post. I wish you all the best with the trial and your treatment.

If you can get a link for donations (I guess "justgiving.com"?) I will post it at work as there are quite a few people there keen on supporting the forces ;)

I would go for a slightly slower LEJOG and get a couple of publicity stops along the way (arranged with local press / BBC / ITV local) would maximise the £££ and awareness raised.

Keep us informed and I am sure we can all help raise money for this important work.

Just checked here: Shelter RATM donation page

£33k! How much was Cowell going to donate from his single?

Spend £0.79p on the download, then donate £3 to Shelter. Everyones happy…except Simon :)

Minimum labour charge. Add insurnace to that list from Project.

Funny how everyone goes on about what a villain Simon Cowell is though, yet 19 million people watched the final – that's not far off a 1/3 of the population with 10 million people voting. Those sort of viewing figures are pretty much unheard of these days.

Stalin would have loved Cowell on his side….opiate of the masses indeed. Heads down, don't question, keep quiet.

Grab a pen / guitar / sampler….make your own music and publish on the web for free :)

I have bought a copy and dontaed some £££ to Shelter…they were at £17k last night!

I once had 150+ kids bikes* with the "ANGEL" decals applied upside down…well TBH I would not know which way up oriental characters should go!

Nice job to unbox, partially unwrap, peel, replace and re-package / box up. Thankfully not mine :)

Generally if its a really good product get it prototyped, release a copy of the idea / specs / projected RRP to the mags who will pretty much re-print any half descent press release.

Have the item tested (ISO / EN whatever) and then look at getting into production in a small way.

Release to mags for testing and review.

Have idea stolen by mega-corp who are happy to fight the legal battle knowing that they have enough $$$ to drag it out for years.

Give up and have a nice quiet life.

No neither can I. His version of NIN Hurt is mumbled dirge. There I said it.

9 day race in the Indian Himalayas. Great as you could race the competitive stage then kick back and chat / stop at the Dhaba on the transport stages.

Its an amazing country and I really need to get back there and tour :) Race entry and flight / insurance was not much more than the "gold" entry to the Trans Wales!

    All good info so far:

lightly sand and then degrease (with isoproal alcohol or disc cleaner) the rotor.

    Check all bolts are tight.

Sand pads, dab of copperslip on the non friction side and pop back in.

Check the caliper mount is faced and pop a little copper slip on the caliper mounting spherical washers.

Re-set the brake as per Avid instructions, look them up on line and don't rely on what you thought you did.

    Ride :)

Bob's website with lots of photos and info Hope you don't mind me posting this Bob!

I have used / sold both the Phil Wood and Paragon sliders as well as quite a few trackend / canti / slotted disc mounts.

As has been said, done well they all work fine. The EBB in my BlackBuck frame is a super close fit and has 2 pinch bolts and has never slipped, creaked or played up.

We can then leave the various tribal groupings in Afghanistan to go back to killing each other – it doesn't seem like the people in Afghanistan have the will / desire to change things.

The Afgan way of "having a war" between themselves used to be wait until after lunch, meet in a flat field and have a bit of a shout and wave the AK47 in the air and shoot at clouds before going home for tea feeling all the better for it. They have since found that this does not work hence the increase in IEDs because they were getting slaughtered. Now they are shooting the guys training them…

Eldridge – Godwins law. I don't think that mindless support for the armed forces was part of Hitlers rise to power. Scapegoating of certain minorities and the establishments belief that this stupid little man should be given his 5mins of fame then he would go away….sound like recent events?
