Another dirt-roadie here. I ride a bike and ignore the trail surface as much as possible. Road, track, trail or scramble up/through stuff…its all good.

As to thrill seeking, I would say I prefer personal challenge and a healthy dose of suffering (ie out of the comfort zone that many people, me included, spend most of their life in)

Just been out and I can say that the snow has made bu66er all diference to the driving stds of the students. Once I got the car out of the gap two spotty oiks had left for me (about 6″ either end…my 2.2l Vectra WILL shunt a Renault 5 if I have to so don’t make me!) I was greeted on every corner by a yourg lad trying to drift round narrow residential streets coming the other way…t0ssers.

And breathe….

Or Chocolate Fish which are made in the old IB factory as they moved all production to China and still call it NZ Merino! CF ones are cheaper, last longer (by a factor of about 12 so far in my experience!) and feel softer as they are “super fine” merino which is 18micron or smaller fibres.

Get some reccomendations for an instructor. I used the same one as my sister did 10years ago!
Don’t do one lesson a week, take a week off and do 2hrs a day to get a good base.
Get out and practice as much as possible.
Try different footwear…made a difference to me on the clutch control.
Take the theory test now and get it out the way.

I was disappointed not to wake up to a full busy beard this morning

I was just disapointed to wake up! Damn that Becks beer! Not much stubble let alone beard to show!

Time ATAC since about 1996 ish. I did try Eggys and kept breaking cleats in half with my bulk (all 140lbs of it!) Bushes wore out too.

My current Time Aliums are 5 years old and going strong, I have greased them once (drilled a small hole in the end cap and went to work with a grease gun) and thats it. Cleats last a year of average riding and don’t snap!

I missed it the first time but it cheered me up no end today!

I have just had a shave; Merkur HD razor with Feather blades and Taylor’s soap…damn near bled to death! 3 pass shave (with, across and against the grain) so now I am baby-butt smooth and ready to start growing my face-warmer.

Only spanner in the works is the Mrs demanding that I shave it off if I start to look like a tramp!
