do you have nhs24 where you live. I had a similar problem but phoned them and they pointed me in the direction of getting an emergency appointment. 1.15 today and not really looking forward to it.

Get a suspension fork instead. I dont ride rigid though i have, and I can keep up with the club i ride with and i have no gears.

At the moment very windy. loads of good biking on deeside, and also some not too far out of town. Looks lovely when the sun shines, less so when it is all grey, but the clocks go forward soon and evening riding without lights always cheers me up. Drop us an email also if you are heading up.

It just makes me smile, I get a lot of pleasure out of churning out the same gear up down and along. Maybe its coz i’m thrawn, can’t explain it better than that. I like the fact that i don’t hit my derailleur off rocks and bend it. (i did have a geared bike for a while but it became SS) I don’t ride rigid though i might get a fork to use when the suspension is getting serviced/through the winter. And quite close to me there are some hills called the cairngorms which are excellent for experiencing the disadvantages of singlespeeding.

On the way home the other night went round a corner in the wet and dark a bit too fast, (always forget how fast a road bike is) and front wheel slipped out from under me. Mainly bruised knees but did slide along on me helmet, shoulder and face.Could have ben a lot worse as ther are often lorries and forklifts coming and going as it is near the docks.

Mrs singelspeeddan got one of these for a smidge under 600. Forks need to be changedfor lighter springs but it seems pretty sound generally and a good frame. They are prety short on the tt. If you can get one of last years models from somewhere the spec is very good for te money.

we got an agreement in principle from our lender. Tis basically told us how much we could borrow and started looking for a house within that price range. Make sure oyu speak to at least a couple of mortgage advisors before you decide on one as some are willing to help than others.

also had both. See the show me your singlespeed thread for pics.

The inbred was a bit flexier around the bottom bracket but mine was getting on a bit by that point and also i am quite big so that probably didn’t help. the head and seat tube angles are slacker on the inbred so i feel that the simple climbs better. However the price of a simple frame is almost the same as most of a fully rigid inbred so as they say, you pays your money and you takes your choice. you wouldn’t be dissappointed with either IMO.
