If the rest is still ok why not buy a chain splitter from park? Call me cautious but I prefer having a proper chain tool if I break a chain.

This sounds like the rheinigdeal route and yes it is good fun. not particularly long and there is a very steep hill to climb from the beach. and also a 12% road climb too. If you get a good day though it is beautiful.

Its a nice ride from inverness to glen affric, did it last summer and wrote it up in the mag. The bit of kintail from The glen affric youth hostel to shiel bridge is very nice. Worth having to do a bit of road riding when you get to shiel bridge I reckon. Just my 2p

Oh and not having a map handy not sure how you’d get to torridon from their. Want a picture?
    Riding towards shirl bridge.

this would be after selling my simple. I want a lighter and shorter 29er really.

Sleepingbag, mat and bivvy o the bars, Clothes and pans in the rear, and wash kit, andfood and waterproofs in the back pack or strapped to the top of the rear bag.
Still need to make a harness for the front bag to stop holes gettting rubed in the dry bag and to attach the map to.

Got in Last saturday in aberdeen, Was bloody freezing but glassy and head to chest. Moon rising in a clear sky and a mist about a foot off the water. Beautiful. 😀
Thin merino socks under your booties are a big help walking through the snow to the beach. and help keep you warm in the water too.

Thought this one would appeal to some of the I.T. bods on here.

1.Looking over the log book kept by the computer support staff at my office, I noticed several entries stating the problem was PICNIC. I asked one of the technicians what PICNIC meant. He laughed as he told me it meant “Problem In Chair, Not In Computer”
    2. Trip down the west coast similar to 13thfloormonk but opposite direction
    3. Waking up ext to my wife.
    4. Opening a packet of good coffee
    5. Tollah Stu and Cheezy (and respective other halves)are nice folks. Thanks for the dinner and generla hospitality.

Possibly in slightly bad taste but….
    I
asked my missus if we could try the Chilean Miner position the other
night. She asked if it was the one where she goes deep down my shaft and
… stays there until she needs to come up for air? I told her no, its the one where she **** off and I don’t see her for 4 months.

I went to Aberdeen, studied French. ( i use the word studied very loosely) Aberdeen is a good uni and I enjoyed the social life alot, some might say too much and I probably should have done something other than go to uni straight after school. Went Back last year and did a PGCE primary qualification which I wouldn’t have been able to do without m first degree.
