All city Gorilla Monsoon, but not 700cc. However also expensive, even more so than soma. Surly straggler as in the previously mentioned threads. Are you dead set on the horizontal toptube?

You could look at Crust bikes, but again these’ll be expensive.

I should further add I quite fancy a randonneur front bag but don’t want to restrict myself on luggage capacity of I need it.

Trailrat has a rove which he likes though it’s a tank. Have a look at the Raleigh mustangs. They look suitable and can sometimes be had on sale. I’d second getting a dynamo. My Busch and muller IQ-X is brilliant.

For reference the pic below is my old light.

iPhone pics but you get the idea.

The pics I’ve seen of the 2016 32mm gravel kings have a file tread but those with a more knobbly profile seem to have been name with an sk this year.

Firestarter, how fast is mid paced? Do you find yourself lagging on the hills on a club run?

That is lovely fire starter. Greg, unlikely to be doing puffer this time round. Were you camped next to us the year before last?

Maybe some big fat slicks like schwalbe big apples or similar would give plenty comfort and much more speed. It’s what I intend to do for my 29er when I commute on it. Also you could probably fit a trekking crankset, they tend to have a larger front ring to help top end speed if you have the legs.

I would second Ballater. PLenty to do around and about, both walking and riding.
Also nice: Alford – Houghton park is pretty nice though less riding near by.

respray my 29er inbred and maybe buy a a set of suspension forks for it.

New long Gilles berthoud mudguards without dents for my singular osprey.

Maybe do cycle to work for a new ss cross bike or something. 😀

And hopefully once my baby daughter is bigger around this time next year santa might build a scoot bike 😀

West coast wandering, a wee solo tour in the summer. The view over the summer isles in the sunshine will be forever etched in my memory.
    Riding towards Durness

Looking towards Suilven from north of Lochinver, that coast road is very hilly

I have been a little recently though more through sheer bloody mindedness about not covering the same bit of road twice on a ride and getting lost.
    Kirkhill funpark was an experience.

Slippy slope on the coastal path near Aberdeen

    Tyrebagger forest.

This summer’s tour round the west and north of scotland, I didn’t use my waterproof jacket! 😮
More of an anomaly than anything I suspect. But I did need and didn’t have an emergency spoke, which I will now purchase and never need ever again.

We went in April this year. We camped but it was pretty cold. We took road bikes and did a ride that is organised by the washingmachinepost mannie. Debbie’s cafe does indeed provide fine caffeine based refreshments and is quite near bruichladdich if you are fond of that too. We just pottered about on the beaches and ate nice food and rode bikes but didn’t make it to Jura as we couldn’t see it through the cloud and we really wanted to see the scenery.

mine were ok though the rear kept breaking spokes, front has been fine.

Surely Cynic-al will be able to fix that with a teaspoon and some carbon fibre? 😯

Aye it sure made exciting viewing whilst at work, my house is just out of shot to the left. Fortunately the torrential rain we’ve had for most of teh afternoon has washed it all away. Pity, i was going to let the cats play in it. 😀

I did a few years ago. Lush longboards used to sell big sheets of ply for making a deck. Mine has got no concave. seems to go alright. I made a cardboard template for nose and tail shapes but only for one side so I could flip it along the centrline for symmetry.

My current MTB was a present from my wife just before we got married and accompanied me on our honeymoon. It is very unlikely to be got rid of. ever.

Rab vapour rise would get my vote but one of the lite ones. If you get cold the ordinary weight ones are good but make sure you try them on.

    Primary or secondary?

There will, I’m sure be lots of ‘what if’ scenarios. And also If for a DHT/HT position I would guess a presentation.
If its for a department/faculty head then, make sure you know the experiences and outcomes relevant to your department and ensure that any management experience is firm in your mind. Similarly how are you going to get the cross cutting Healtha dn wellbeing/literacy and numeracy strands into your curricular area. Also what are you going to do to bring about the changes that they require/want. Similarly how far along with curriculum for excellence are they as each authority is at a different stage, read the inspection report and if you can get hold of it any follow through visits from QIO’s.
