Fantastic riding I live about 2 miles from it and i’m constantly finding new routes, especially if linked up with parts of the cleveland way and some of the decents from sutton bank and white horse, worth just riding out and picking bridleways, paths and trails.

Orange swift owner here too, so there must be at least two.

these two should do the job, but if you look around you may find cheaper. euro bb is the same as mtb.

Very deep and a lot of drag round rosedale way yesterday, take some seat covers for your car, 😆

    Not sure,

But you could use a 19mm Euro BMX bb, would be cheaper, make sure you have spacers like profiles to make up the difference on the external cups.

if the hubs use easily sourced bearings then you could be onto a winner. I have a pair of formula hubs that where dead cheap, I bought a box of 25 for around £20 from a local bearing supplier. Should last years. It takes about 5mins a hub to replace em, done it twice in four years.

I could have got very high grade for a bit more but they didn’t have any at the time.

I had one with a 120mm fork in it and loved it,

Not sure what the difference is between XC and single track, But it rode great on everything I tried it on.

    Usually a bit of a struggle with a dent/kink

    Any photos or more info?

I’ve had an inbred replaced due to a dodgey disc mount and it was done very quickly

    they will be much harsher

Nah, you won’t really notice any difference. I’ve got straight forks on my cross bike and it’s really no harsher than one with curves.

It really does depend on what material it is, A straight carbon fork will be more compliant than a curved Alloy one, BUT, Carbon straight Vs Carbon Curved or Steel Straight Vs Steel Curved, Then the Curved ones will always win due to the curve both reducing the amount of “buzz” and also flexing to add a degree of suspension.

It’s not the road bike that’s loathsome but the shaven-legged fetishitic roadie cliquemongering of some of the more onanistic riders

Batman will shave his legs after all he’s always in tights and you don’t want hairs to be creaping through.

Well said midnighthour. Its a people forum, if you don’t like how its done or whats in the threads, there is always elsewhere.

Funny it was only a couple of days ago when I was wondering when a far right movement in cycling would form.

    🙂

You’ll struggle because of how worn they are, never mind then losing the receipt.

but its still worth a try. if not get a new arm. or 2nd hand one off here or the bay.

not so much with Pinarellos as Sky have changed the colours, which is a PITA for Pina Dealers who stocked up on replicas.

I’m honestly not bothered. i ride a mtb and a road bike and I like this forum so don’t see the point of going elsewhere.

If the thread doesn’t look interesting generally don’t read or post in it.

Not at all, probs about just over 1.2k i think, had some of the parts for ages,

Carbon campy ain’t cheap, neither is the chainset. but i reckon you could do something similar for 800ish from the classifieds and the Bay.

I also have a swift with drops, It rides beutifully across moorland and is more than happy in a trail centre. It just feels right for me,

The access situation in Ireland in general seems to heavily favour landowners. Why?

    They “own” it 😆

But seriously there needs to a lot more cooperation from all parties involved. The more people that can use a trail/path the more funds will be available.

Yep all the time. But sensibly. I know which footpaths (and bridleways) locally are busy at certain times and which are sustainable and avoid when nessicary.

Oli at Trailkings in Great Ayton is a good lad and does pretty cheap 1 2 1 around the North Yorks moors, but i’m sure he’ll travel about.

I’ve had my swift out on a few rides now with drops and 2.35 tyres. After plenty of moorland riding and a lap of Dalbys red. It is better suited to the long moorland rides but its me that limits me on the techy stuff of Dalby. I was slower through it than on other bikes but got through it. Long fast decents where fine on the drops and gave me big smiles 😆 especially if any of you know Black Hambleton on the North Yorks mooors.

Could be full of water as seals are crap on forks like that,

Unscrew if possible the topcaps on stations and turn upside down.

But probally will be best taken to your local shop

Singular, lovely bikes. Love my swift, (even though i tried selling it to fund a gryphon)

I have also used bb7 road calipers on a few road sti’s and found them to work better than mini v’s

    weightweenies is a racer site.

You don’t want it too high it will cause injury.

Get it high enough that you put good leg stretch but with out rocking your hips.

Buy a goniometer and get set up yourself. Thats a tool that measures the angle of your leg at the knee and will give you the correct length.
