Sadly not many helmets, but its the volume of cyclists that’s impressive.
    Why is it sad?

purely down to this forum and the arguement that could have arised from posting a video of people riding bikes without helmets, nothing to do with cyclists in the video.

Looks a nightmare for those of us that commute
    Yep.

That many cyclists would be a PITA for motorists & people cycling at a reasonable speed.

One of the great things about my commute is that I can cruise along at my own pace without having to worry about overtaking all the nodders bumbling along at 12mph.

I can’t see more people riding bikes as a problem in any way really.

More cyclists hopefully = More facilities + less cars

Like said above. You just avoid busier times. Or overtake.

Looks great, I have a swift frame I wish I could use for fixed. I’m now contemplating selling/swapping it.

You can get these thumbies and some sram bar end shifters. then some avid levers I think the Fd-5 work with caliper brakes.

I use 2.35 rampage’s on my rigid 29ers for all but super dry conditions. Give that extra bit of cushioning and plenty of grip.

Compare and contrast Hope and Pace.
Few have good things to say about Pace
Few have bad things to say about Hope
    Which is the most successful!?

I can sort of see your point, BUT Hope do make parts that are more widely sourced after, brakes, hubs, lights etc.. Stuff that you can put on any bike. Pace are pretty much just a small frame and bike manufacturer. Frames just don’t have the mass appeal that the parts Hope make regardless of brand.

Look very similar to some ones I had years ago on a FSA powerpro chainset (cheapo I’m afraid)

Id be happy to go ride stuff in the area – yes.
I dont need to be led around
and looking at the cable car descent Id have sessioned that for the rest of the day.
In fact I hope that is what we do in December.

    So not a problem.

They why not just rent a place on your own and save the money on paying someone else to tell you something you already know.

Nice to know “Cycleactive (and Rich Barnard)” are so good , friend of yours is he?

I’ve been on courses with Cycleactive and they ARE excellent, professional and ultimately offered a great serivce.

I’m sure any professional organisation that offered holidays based around “guided cycling” would be gutted if their customers only got a hour or so’s riding while a member of staff who they are paying just sat in a cafe.

A reply to a customer who is disputing that your service is far from good should never contain anything that makes you look unprofessional:

Ouch! That hurt! Maybe you could have said something during the week?

bet you never offered them the choice of going first.

Nice to know “Cycleactive (and Rich Barnard)” are so good , friend of yours is he?

avoidable problems will be reviewed and err.. avoided.

Loved all the other companies jumping on the bandwagon!

Probably because they are disgusted by the actions of a business operating in their industry.

Also if I booked a holiday with my friends and we where split up because of ability i’d be gutted. I’ve gone on holiday with them not some randoms.

I dunno – I see riding across a beach as the dullest possible form of cycling. At least on a road you get corners Riding in the snow is fun, sure, but for the majority of the time, a really heavy hardtail that doesn’t climb doesn’t strike me as much fun at all.

    Are all beaches straight lines?
They aren’t designed to be a performance machine. but they are incredibly practical in ideal conditions.

Riding it in normal uk conditions will slow you down, put a smile on your face and make you look at a trail in a different way.

But i suppose each to their own. I love trying different style and bike and don’t knock it till i’ve tried it. As long as it has two wheels and pedals i’ll enjoy riding it.

So is it fair to say that outside of riding on snow and beaches, they’re not really of much use?

That don’t mean there not fun though. 😆

Wheels and shifters are the big two to change in my eyes on a road bike. They would change the feel and ride of the bike the most without ditching the frame.

don’t most of the On-Ones come with swapouts?

I’d personally never buy one direct off ebay, It may look the same but that only means they have used the same mold/jig. You have no idea how much is fibreglass and how much is carbon and also no comeback if it goes bang.

There are lots of roadies out there who buy pinarello lookilikes that are the same shape with the whole your just paying £2k for stickers but all you need to do is look inside the frame to see the difference.

Saddle height doesn’t look to bad, its the low top tube that makes it look out of per portion.

    But I like it.

Evans usually have good deals or foldingbikes.biz (whites)

Unless you have any hills a simple 2 speed will do.

Ideally you’d want a flat bar as they are the stiffest but the “m” bars do flex to give you some more comfort.

I’ve had a couple and really enjoyed riding them, more than I thought i would.
