I don’t think I’ve ever met a true mountain biker single speeder. The one gear bike riders ive met seem to spend a lot of time changing gears and complaining about the world between rides rather than during them enjoying themselves. What a waste of time!

only to get stuck behind one halfway up a climb when they decide to dismount and walk

    That’s not a real singlespeeder.

Not as angry as people who ride 26ers 😉

    Not a bad read really.

If said pair was around £60 I’d have said yes, but £11 looks to much like a typo.

Aye ups! He’s here!! Ole shep has come to save the day!

    I like that 🙂

I would love to come down to Dorset, show you southerners how to ride a bike properly

I’m North Yorkshire Born and Bread.

Well that will simply be cos u singlespeed boys can’t ride hard enough to appreciate what a good set up is!

I’m not a middle class audi driver so can’t afford all the fancy gizmos.

but really it gives u the excuse to ride so shit…

I am shit at riding a bike, so bad you wouldn’t believe.

I think u and simpleStu are the same troll yeah?? Am I right sweetie?

No but I aspire to be him, one day I think I might make it.

Anyway.. Can we forget about all this nastiness towards each other??

I hadn’t been nasty at all, just flirty My Sweets. Trying to pull myself a richboy. 😉 XXX

    You coming to Dorset?

Surely the point is that the new bikes29ers were not significantly faster

    fixed it for you.

However how do you feel about the inbred s? This is because price wise I would be having Hope Hoops, if that makes sense.

Personally, I’d go with the better frame. Wheels wear out or can be updated at a later date.

I have a feeling the single speed boys are upset!

Sweetheart, never heard a fellow singlespeeder complain about technology or wheelsize being pushed.

I have an El Mariachi, really pleased with it. Although now everyone seems to be getting one I may need to look elsewhere.

The surly and Singulars are excellent bikes also.

I only look at times when last orders are in question.

But if i was working out buying a bike like above I’d sacrifice a minute or two for one that’s fun to ride and doesn’t kill my back.

You stick with yer own fancy niche bikes but when the industry is trying to force clown bikes on us who ride properly then I’m not a happy chap!

Aw treacle have you had too much monster energy the freeride boys are forcing you to drink.

I have previously allways just got away with waterproof shorts, but as they where mucky last night i too out some waterproof trousers, miles better, No muck on my legs, clean getting in the car and warmer.

Looking at getting a cycling specific set you can tighten at the bottom.

Just a quick question, if I ride a singlespeed (32:16) and a ‘gearie’, should I expect to be shunned or embraced?

This lot may embrace you: 😆

A pure soul is hard to find.

Ahh I see. Apparently I was told by someone that had them that 29 inch wheels really smooth out the trail and take all the bumps away, he seemed really keen.I couldn’t help thinking that very smooth trails sound a bit like roads?

Not as much as suspension 😉

Singlespeed_Shep – could you give me some examples where you’ve ridden before?

I live in North Yorkshire, so a regular on the Moors or into the Dales, but my bike has taken me all over the UK singlespeeding from South Downs to Fort William.

I ride a 29er with 35-19 (Tazzy Wonky ring which is excellent)

I have ride with a guy who often comes out with a 32-18 on the Moors, Last one down the hills and on the flat but first up.

stick a 20t on the back and man up, More people use an easier gear than you. 2-1 is a benchmark but seen and ridden with loads of people that run easier. They are fine on the flat as they have learn to carry their speed better.

But in all honesty your questioning your own ability, not good 🙁

you could always buy the alloy ones:

I had some noirs on my singlespeed, they where great. I put a strip of helitape (as i do with most cranks) on the arms for a little extra protection from heel rub. You can also get these, from raceface to protect the bottom.

But really if your not happy with the idea, sell em and get some alloy ones. Tis your bike after all. I always get shot of any part i’m not happy with.

It all hinges on whether she had this condition diagnosed before the accident….. and if she did was she told to stop driving?

If she wasn’t told to stop driving then I think that defence will stand!

my brother in law (28) has epilepsy and has to go a year without a seizure before he can think about driving again. He’s been without a license for years, because of above.

They’re all just manufacturers’ press releases presented as product reviews.

I agree on that part, I haven’t looked at a review properly for years.

I’m liking the new singletrack, the articles i really enjoy are ones either about multi-day rides or riding somewhere exotic.

She has a special defence of automatism. The document lodged in court claims she was unconscious at the time.

I don’t really use a lot of lube, just a bit here and there. A bottle seems to last ages.

In the grand scheme of things riding a £2K plus bike with no gears or suspension is a bit more of a rip off than a £6 bottle of lube.

I liked this one, which is a concept madone, with jplin levers for brakes

I wouldn’t leave a pump with a stranger, but an inner tube/gel something I have stacks of not a problem in my eyes. Unless its the last one my group has.

I bet a lot of people who demand reimbursement, bin ones with a hole in anyway rather than repairing.

Unless you want to place in elite then worrying about wheel size is an utter waste of time.

Cheers for the info I’ll keep looking through the different ones, It was only a cheap 2nd hand one i was looking at until my sim only contract runs out and I begrudge paying for tinternet and not being able to use it.

any road front wheel will fit but you’l need a track rear wheel with either fixed or freewheel. freshtripe is also good shop. Just google what you need loads of shops out there. Charlie and Velo are the most popular.

fixed + flat pedals with no straps = gonna have a bad day.
freewheel with no brakes = gonna have a bad day.

but its your bike and your face, do what you want and try not to run into anyone else.

It’s all in jest so you needed be so touchy about your precious fat bike scene.

I wasn’t I just said it didn’t make sense, without the deleted post it does come across as random mumbling to yourself.

Does your DeLorean have a bike rack too?

It was a joke, refering to you needing a time machine to go buy them that cheap.
