THE BIKE INDUSTRY IS Purely a money making sales driven pitch, try to convince what you have is shit so you spend your money on something no better than what you’ve got……..

If you paid the bike shop to fix and they didn’t, I’d take it back to them.
Its pretty much given superstar a get out of jail card. As a third party has been involved.

true, but typically the dealer will try on behalf of the customer as a lot of companies dont deal with the public directly.

I think in the previous thread, he was told to jog on.

    edit: (Quote from other thread)

Spoke to the shop and they told me it’s my own fault for having the chain too short and that you should be able to use any gear combination on the bike.

To the OP, ditch the Brand and shop. Sounds like you have a good offer from Brant. Those Ti frames are nice.

32-19 for me in North Yorkshire.

But also have a 20 and 18 and do play about. Buy 3 cheap cogs, start with the biggest and work your way down.

Lets see what the current picture is..

Front page poll.. What size wheels do you have on your main MTB?

I think its a good representation. It would be good to compare with “How long do you keep a bike for?”

If the average person keeps a bike for 4-5 years then that how long it will take for 29/650 to become the dominate wheel size if it happens.

I personally feel 29″ has established itself in the global market and is unlikely to dwindle. 26″ and 650b are likely to shuffle for the next couple of years. It’ll be interested to see how it pans out.

The economic climate is playing more of a part in determining what bikes people buy than new technology and is likely to for years to come.

We as us the main players within the industry
Trust me I know my thing in the market thus being that we in the know are more than certain its going the way we did not want it to!!

I had a F700 with a similar fork. I had it serviced through Chevin Cycles in otley. (A few years ago)

Its was about £60 and transformed the ride. Since then i’ve been a big fan of headshox.

Is it just me or do the scruffs seem to be riding bikes with left side drive all of a sudden.

I mean whoever wins is probably just the best tactical drug user

I would watch a “dopers” tour, let them have it, Alp D’heuz, big ring 11mins, would be awesome to watch.

Is there an allen key adjuster in the lever hinge?

My elixir 7’s where the same until I adjusted the reach.

If its on and I’m not doing anything else I’ll watch it.

Don’t see the point in making an effort not to watch something. Cycling on TV is good.

I’ve started using a decent rear flashing light all the time when i’m on the road just to help a little.

Also we’ll always see a cyclist before your average driver does because we are looking out for them more.

The driving tests need to include more about other users of the road, cyclists, horses etc.

    Get a custom seatpost.

mines from Matt at 18bikes, He’ll also sort your frame to a better size, seen it done on a few Cove frames.

    What tyres for…..

    and

    How nice the world is.

    i go in inchs/cm,

measure your medium and compare it to their geometry. Not all mediums are the same size.

COuld you get a 1.5″ cannondale style stem that works and get a shim, like the ones that came with road stems when they went from 1″ to 1 1/8″

You’d be one of them. To say it’s the perfect road is utter nonsense.
I live next to the A19 a few miles north of the accident and I’m surprised there aren’t more killed in these TT’s.

I can see the road right now from my house. the accident site with a telescope.

The road its self is spot on, dead straight, smooth tarmac.

If you had read my post just past the part you highlighted you’d have seen my point that its the other users that’s the problem, A road doesn’t kill people, morons driving to fast without due care do.

Might be worth looking at some dirt jumping hi-rise bars. NS bikes used to do a 3″ rise one so did gussett.

saves the hassle of looking at new stems,

Contact them, but don’t mention the ‘not fit for purpose’ bit. You’ll sound like a bellend.

Starting a conversation with “not fit for purpose” puts you at the back of the queue. Especially when damaged. To many people are throwing this claim around without understanding it.

A lot of people talking sh!t about a road they have only seen on google earth or at best driven down once.

In terms of a 10 mile TT it is a perfect road for it, as said above its the other road users that cause problems. The death/injury rate of that road is incredibly low compared to the centre of york some 20 miles away or the A170 which come from this road and heads over to scarborough.

I personally wouldn’t ride on any road where people are doing 80mph, but thats me, for those that want to do that sort of thing fair enough.

IS this the plastic you talking about??

I have a couple of helmets where the plastic can be dented but the polystyrene remains fine because it is a few MM’s off the polystyrene. Apparently to help deflect some of the impact like a crumple zone. The dent shouldn’t compromise the preformance of the helmet as the plastic is only really there for cosmetic.

Similar to pushing hard onto the bonnet of a car. your going to put a dent in it.

Your first helmet sounds like it was a fault, the others, just you being awkward.

I also hope you spoke to the shop.

This happened about 4 miles from my house, and I commute on the A19 everyday up to Teesside.

You never see a cyclist on this road apart from the odd TT, There are quiet a few, evenings and sunday mornings.

To be fair it is a wide dual carriage and the times they are using it, it gets pretty quiet. But personally a road where in reality people are driving 80mph. no chance.
