would work no problems, bu you may need washers to make sure the chainline is right,

All explained on the velosolo site, I’ve done it and it works a treat.

I have a black one of these:

Very good, i find the arms long enough. I’m just over 6′ and size large in altura/craft. There’s also a green one on that site too.

Use it as a road DH bike,

Find a big hill and ride it down it, 🙂

I have three bikes with shimano spd pedals on them,

    2x cheapo ones
    1x xt

The cleats wear out quicker than the jaw’s on the pedals, but the lifespan of the xt’s is about half the cheaper ones.

This is the exact symptom i get when the xt jaws wear out:

I have noticed that on my current SPD’s my foot seems to be lifting out easily/unintentionally detaching from pedal

So try your shoes in some other pedals first as your cleats may be fine.

As a rule I change things when they die now. So use the cleats as long as you can.

Why couldnt i find them. Oh well. These are very expensive compared to the post to IS adapters. Its cheaper to buy a 140mm rotor

It depends on how good his rotors are. I’d rather have a £12 adapter than a £12 disc.

I could be wrong but a 160mm to 180mm should give you the extra height you would need. which is easily available.

    Another mail order worker here.

We have packets(Jiffy Bags) and 2 sizes of boxes. This is the most efficient way of us shipping out items fast. We have hundreds of items at different sizes and weights to have suitable packaging for all would cost a fortune and cause havoc through the packing stations.

Its not the most C02 friendly i agree but considering how fast consumers want their products, speed is more important than being friendly to the environment.

The 650b Carrera I saw in Halfords at the weekend had a square taper BB and most boardmans come with Truvativ cranks.

Am I the only one with a great LBS?

No i have a great one also, they also experience delays etc. But the difference with the OP is they tell me and keep me updated.

90% of the stuff i ask for they have to order in, usually takes a week (from me going in on saturday to collecting it the following saturday) I get 10% for being part of the local cycling club and don’t mind paying extra as they have helped me out in the past (lent a wheel whilst waiting for a warranty) plus many other things.

I try to always have a bell on my mtb, most of the bridleways etc near me go past the NYM Park centre so loads of walkers about.

I always try to be polite slow down but occasionally people do move towards me by accident, so its hard not skim past someone occasionally they might want a bout of fisticuffs over it but i’m generally 20 yards away by then enjoying my ride and ain’t gonna stop.

    Same, the orange looks fine..

I think its a taste/components issue, Lack of front brake, seat/seatpost choice, those forks on a xc frame, to name but a few, I wouldn’t ride either.

Look up the likes of betd, they might do new rocker plates to increase travel.

Cytech 2 is the one to go for and worth doing. Bikebiz will have loads of info.

It’ll teach you how to fix customers bikes not your bike and mates bikes, There is a huge difference.

home mechanics/man with a van are 10 a penny now so make you know how well the business will work and how to make your self stand out.

27 1/4″ wheels will make the road feel alive and are all the rage.

But in all seriousness, unless your dead set on Nigeria, Kenya’s Rift Valley Odyssey looks like a trip and a half. They may also do an Nigerian version.

if its dark or getting dark I wear stuff that’s reflective/hi-vis and go out for a ride. I do it with out thinking. I’m going to make every effort to be seen.

If you don’t, that’ your choice and I’m fine with that.

I don’t think we need right to roam, just footpaths/bridleways to be reclassified as one available to all trail.

As people above have said there are places people just don’t need to go.

Ripon Saturday for me and York on the Sunday,

Did have a look at moving about and trying to catching it twice but not practical for me.

I’d certainly look at parking as far away from the route as possible and riding to a hill (riders moving slowly). The country lanes will be a nightmare with all the traffic and everywhere will be rammed.

I’ve seen sign posts going up marking the route so go do a scout round.

what this forum needs is more wheel size threads

I think its funny that a group of blokes who think its perfectly normal to spend £2k plus on a “push bike” are jumping up and down over an inch or so on wheels.

Personally i shall continue to use the wheels I have, rather than the wheels I don’t, because I find imaginary wheels don’t work as well as real ones.

    +1

and when it comes to buying a new bike, I’ll still just buy the best one I can afford regardless of what size wheels it has.

    Singlespeed_Shep

But one thing that doesn’t change is people thinking their wheel choice is better than the others.
    I still find it amusing

Have you seen the nsmb.com “how to be a mountain biker” video thats doing the rounds its number 19 i think

All Fixie ridersHipsters seem to wear the same gear,

Its just fashionable in their circles to ride a fixed gear bike.

Cyclists who ride fixed gear bike IMHO just wear cycling gear.

What’s Dalby like? A bit of internet searching suggests it’s a bit of a mile muncher without too many interesting bits

Its worth going to, but 9 out 10 reviews are from the “never ride a trail center its not mountain biking you should stick to golf, brigade”

There has been a few new features put in, and if you mix the bits of black it’ll be a good ride. I also think its in pretty good condition at the moment.

I think its one of the better northern England trail centers, but i personally enjoy Whinlatter more. A lot more climbing there. There are plenty of climbs at Dalby but all pretty short.
