Why don’t you want to ream the seattube out??

18 bikes do seatpost reaming and i’m sure plenty others do.

I’d rather lose 0.2mm of metal than carbon.

Cheers all. Looking forward to it all really. Was fine waiting till the due date.

    Singlespeed_shep, still waiting?

    Yep still waiting.

Managed a couple of runs, and a couple of bike rides lapping the village. 🙂

I have a good idea, why don’t you follow him round on your bike. That way when he stops at the traffic lights you can shout threatening abuse through his window!

    I Lol’d at that 🙂

Your rear mech will sort tension.

You’ll need a top-only style device up front to stop the chain coming off.

So in future, if a car breaks the highway code, nearly runs someone over, we should let it go. No one should tell them they’re wrong, so they can continue driving like a prick. Till they kill someone…

There is telling someone they have done something wrong and then there is screaming offensive language through a window.

It’s not great that physical abuse of cyclists is so prevalent and neither is it so great that victims of such aggression seem to be frequently blamed for their own mistreatment – by police, public, other cyclists.

I don’t believe the black, gay or female communities won their battles by blaming their own members for their mistreatment. Not being a member of any of them, I don’t know but it does sadden me that when a cyclist appears to be standing up to someone who has quite definitely broken the law (moving into the ASL) that other members of the same community suggest it’s his own fault for getting hit..

The cyclist wasn’t assaulted because he was a cyclist he was assaulted for confronting the driver/passenger.

    Are you running triple? singlespeed?

Could it be possible to get a longer BB, the flip the chainring round or space it out to get to your chainline, or play with anything hub end?

But by the time you’ve spent the money sorting it you might as well just get a new arm off the bay or similar.

Call a supplier of one of the brands and ask them.

A lot of what they stock is from yellow, chicken or windwave.

Could you fit a bigger cassette with the rear mech you have?

If not i’d go with above and get the right chainset.

Can you not get the spare internals for a 15mm/20mm crosstrail hub and build them into yours?

If not your probably better selling the wheel and starting from scratch as a 15mm/20mm disc hub with 24h isn’t going to be cheap.

I used to go to Ape skatepark also.

Loads of happy memories from there. Loved the dirt, the foam pit (rat house) was also good fun. I friend lost a shoe in there 🙂

Yes more than fair I think. Once you start a dispute the seller gets an email to offer his side of events. If he’s genuine no problem.

It’ll either get you your money back or hurry them up.

IMHO you lose any moral high ground being confrontational

like say entering a zone illegally and aggressively in a 2 ton box and then hitting someone who shouts at you? Neither is great but it is obvious which is worse and illegal.

Both used intimidation. I’m not saying either are in the right.

The driver should get penalized for the motoring offense and assault. Both should go on separate anger management courses.

Got a customer wanting to take us to court over a dispute of the colour name of his running shoes. Despite our website showing an actual photo of the shoes and the name/description clearly stating the colours.

    £60 FFS.

He has been offered a full refund and we’ll collect them. He can also keep the free t-shirt that came with them.

    That’s not good enough apparently.

I haven’t read many of the responses here, due to the high amount of arseholes on the forum.

After watching the video, it is clear that the man who got out of the car committed an act of force against the cyclist. This is not acceptable.

The cyclist chose to chase down the car and swear and shout at the driver. This is also not acceptable.

The whole situation cou7ld have been avoided if the cyclist had just ignored the car. He chose to remonstrate the driver, then chose to chase after him and become aggressive.

They are as bad as each other, but most conflict can be avoided.

+1 the only thing I could to add to this is he could have reported it to police rather than going after the driver. IMHO you lose any moral high ground being confrontational

I went last year, it was full of hipsters. Everywhere I went – Hipsters,

Rode up the coast, more hipsters. Went to square and compass queed for ages behind hipsters for a beer.

Had a crap time till I found some vikings having a fight at corfe castle.

    Great value, all you need:

    deore 9 speed chainset

Upgrade to Middleburn RS7 and Square Taper BB

Coincidentally I too did this, 20 years ago!

    +1 they work a treat

I built a Dawes Discovery tandem on a budget, The only tandem specific parts I used where:

    Rear Wheel
    Rear Brake Hose
    Stoker Stem

Everything else was from parts bin. Using as many standard mtb parts helped a great deal with keeping costs down.

I’m now upgrading the parts now myself and the wife love using it. We currently have a little one on the way so looking forward to sticking a trailer on the back.

I’m confident in saying its the best cycling related investment I’ve made.

    Mines due today 😯

Isofix base ready in car, Hospital bag also in there.

Turbo trainer in the workshop will be the only riding I’ll see for a while. (Sadly poor phone signal near me so not risking a ride)

One thing i would add, is that if you are any good as cook, do some batch cooking chilli, spag bol, shepherds pies anything that you can grab from freezer and cook easily once little ‘un arrives, they are amazing, but you’ll both be tired and it is nice to eat some home cooked food.

Good idea! i’ll be on with that right away.

I ran a surly for a while with a WI freewheel and it didn’t weight a great deal more than the hope trials hub i have now.

Less than a hundred grams all in IIRC. I probably could have dropped that putting a lighter axle in.

At that price I’d sacrifice a little weight and get the more reliable option. Simple hub with freewheel like the DMR you suggested.

I currently have a bricklane bikes freewheel on one of my bikes and its an excellent budget option instead of WI.

    Salsa Vaya 3.

Steel is def more comfortable, also if your running racks double check which is most suitable.

yet here many of you are deriding the cyclist for being angry stating that you would have simply hopped up on the curb and cycled happily away.

How many actual cyclists use this forum?

I said I’d ride past and forget about it. Not because of who i believe is in the right or wrong but because I have more important things to worry about in my life.

    I’m a cyclist btw,

i was doing up in Dalby. I broke my forks pre-riding the course on saturday but bizarely had a spare pair with me, drove over to Ribble

😯 Drove to ribble from dalby to get some forks cut? is there another Dalby other than Dalby Forest?

Sounds fair. Do you really expect a business (run for profit, the primary reason for any business existing) to give money back on trust that a customer will return goods?

I can’t see the problem here other than a shipping error which will inevitably happen time to time.

+1 mistakes happen, its a shame but this could happen anywhere. They offered to refund you. A lot of places will give you a lot of hassle to give you money back. Did you ask them to sort it? or just take what they said?

You might be fit enough just not experienced. Take time to learn how to race. That along with plenty of training with get you there.

There is no real time frame. Just make sure your enjoying yourself and not beating yourself up about it.

Love mine, my bike has been hammered over the last 18 months through crap and good weather and no issues,

The only improvement I can think they could make would be for all the bolts to be the same size, rather than needing 3 dif ones.

Seen a few Kona’s come up every now and again pretty cheap on CRC and similar.

The Kula Primo and Deluxe are both scandium and Kiluea I think is carbon.

I’ve had a Deluxe in the past and it was excellent.

    I have both the M324 and A600.

    Link to wiggle

M324 Only use them on long jaunts or on the tandem. One side standard spd with platform either side for support and work with my shoes. Other side a flat if I fancy a change

A600 on my road bike. great pedals but will be swapping them for something double spd sided when they die.

    Singlespeed_Shep

Because that would be dull, and is already covered by CRC and Wiggle’s websites (amongst others). Or you can just ask here – loads of people have real experience of 40€ tyres, but how many have had a chance to compare 4000€ bikes?

    +1

MBR’s Bike of the year was a cheap hardtail. They said it was an amzing ride for the money, The next months letters section was how that was a load of crap and that no one cares about cheap bikes.
