I ran one for a week while waiting the next day delivery of a 10-speed. Not the slickest shifting but was able to engage the full range of a 2×10 set up and I`m still here to tell the tale.

Not all parts are available here. Some retailers say “in stock” but the reality is somewhat different.I sent mine back via Royal Mail. It was away(posted, fixed, returned) in 8 days… Great service from them…direct!

It`s mostly quiet tarmac backroads with spells of landrover track and field edge thrown in.Sign posting includes, stickers on grit bins, and on overgrown fence posts.Full suss would be overkill.
It passes our road end.Good Luck 😀

The carriageway up at Gimmerknowe’s utterly beautiful but fairy unexciting technically.

But if you venture away from the obvious, you may just find something that is a bit more interesting. PUBLIC FORUM
I can’t see this because there’s a hill in the way… but Tuesday is still free 😉

There’s some built trails in the woods above Great Tosson

Im pretty local so should be able to get an idea of conditions too

Ahem, the Forestry Commission harvested in “that area” and pretty much mashed everything.
The footpaths look to be getting reinstated at the moment but will take a while to settle.
I can view this from my window 😉 Just saying..

Bikes on the Simonside ridge between Saturday morning and Sunday tea time is pretty much frowned upon as it is a public footpath. NNP rangers are aware that it is now a stravafest and are doing their utmost to prevent this. Apart from a Wednesday (local walking group) its not too bad to ride.
Rothbury does have more than its fair share of cheeky trails but as you’d expect, cheeky and public internet, don`t go together 😉
A week on Tuesday if you fancy 🙂
Oh Hepple Whitefield, if you “ride” it it is brilliant,if you bimble its boring, but there are quite a few locals that do ride up it so be careful.

It passes the end of our lane, the sign posting is somewhat random to put it mildly, stickers on grit bins being a very popular one. Why have they not used something a bit more permanent and obvious?

There`s a short loop from near Belford in the “Derek Purdy Northumberland MTB” guide nothing too technical, mostly fireroad/bridleway tracks. Weather can make it interesting 😉

Whats exciting about the map of Otterburn range roads… unless you are a fan of road riding its 95%tarmac 😀
Picture 1 is now a scar track that is “quadbike wide, tarmac smooth”
Picture 5 is now an ex-harvesting area. It is passable with care but still a useable trail
Try Derek Purdeys Northumberland MTB guide. A few good ideas, a cheap book and itll make you keep coming back…

T-Mars/Icelift have a piss poor lever to pull the cable. GD have a better thought out system that works well and won`t fail when attached correctly 😉
I`ve run a 31.6 shim on a 27.2 post for 2 years now, without any problems.

Depending on how you use it a bulkhead can be an added bonus. My Transporter came with one and it has been well worth having, the main being overnight security when sleeping in it.Also keeps the contents more hidden from prying eyes

I know somebody who ran 26″ wheels with mud tyres as there was a dearth of suitable rubber in the larger size. Worked perfectly well as was required.

“potter” does not compute 😉 Its very relaxed to ride either flat out or not so flat out… Came with a 80mm stem but changed to a 50 and a bar with a slight rise rather than the flat. Love it…..
