Yeah – am feeling the need for some tapas there! Cheers. Am well stocked in paracetomol but tried not to have any so I can have later this evening.

BTW – spoke to my boss today and last day at work will be June 5th, so i am thinking we could do the monastery ride the previous saturday assuming the removal people come after and I sort out a very rusty chain on the Kona!

Blimey – if you’re a pro how much pressue is now on us amateurs who only have a fleeting aquaintance with anything approaching musical ability? 🙂

Some people do have jobs to do you know and can’t be hanging out on STW and making music all day!!

I have to say it is a highly polished backing track!

Will give it my best shot tonight, although I am not too sure if 90s acidicy housey vibes will mix in 🙂 Will just find a few bars to noodle around to and give everyone else plenty of time and space heh

I miss my band! Right now it’s just me and my friend Lucy when we manage to meet up and do something.

I put together a loose collective and we had an amazing dance troupe as well – it’s hard to explain, but we just rocked something silly when it all came together

I had a quick practice this morning. I am thinking horns via my keyboard as my other stuff didn’t really fit the blues.

Will email the video clip over tonight 🙂

Ah right – well that’s one stop off sorted on my way up north. I’m not working in June so will have time to take it easy and enjoy the scenery and other local places of interest.

I kind of like the idea of playing things by ear and seeing where i end up each night too.

I think I’ll I’ll stick with my buffalo drum for this one. I know my guitar and singing suck big time, but my shamanic drumming video on youtube has had 13,873 views which is alright 🙂

I take it they are all quite close to each other? I’d need a B&B for a couple of days.

Ah right – some time then. I suppose I could stop along the way somewhere. I have wanted to do a mini tour for a while now and maybe I could somewhere on the way up and somewhere on the way back to break it up. We shall see as I am also going to be in Wales for a bit too.

Any idea how long it would take and how many miles in a car to that region from Dumfries? Am thinking of doing a few days north of the Boarders, but haven’t quite got a plan or routes or anything sorted mid June. It is still dependent on budget and timings with a few other things I have on.

Great photos and looks fab up there.

Cool – well I am deffo going to be riding Inners mid June, probably mid week if anyone is going to be around as I have never ridden it. I’ve not done GT Black so may do that too if i am feeling fit. Am sure it will be even less crowded mid week even if schools are out.

Cool – I have no audio software. Do we just record say off a video camera and then send that to you? I assume we have your track playing on the computer but with headphones or something?

I have a buffalo drum, bongos, rattle, tamborine, shaker, flute, jews harp, guitar and Roland EG101 Groovekeyboard at my disposal, assuming we get this done in the next 2 weeks before everything has to get packed up and shipped out!

I’ll get Roper round my house for a rehersal before the final cut too 😀

I’ve just bought one and was googling under “rear mech hanger” – hence my confusion!

Is there an element of quality control involved? Can anyone join in or are you going to do a Simon Cowell and reject some people due to their merely subjective assessment of a total lack of musical talent?

Ah sorry folks, I meant the hanger thingy, not the big thing with cogs and all.

I think it’s the kind of thing that once it has happened, you realise that since they are small parts, it’s not a problem carrying a spare! If it’s never happened, then you don’t realise what a pain it is.

I do it all by eye. And if it’s out a tad i just get off and make a small adjustment. I tend to only need one re-adjustment rather than mark the stem like a half drunk carton of milk in a fridge in a house full of milk-stealing flatmates.

    That’s unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Er – can someone tell me why? And what does non o/s mean?

Do always carry a spare rear mech.

Dont forget your own cycling shoes, especially the brand new ones you bought just after Christmas, but accidently leave in your Big Yellow Storage lock up in Leeds, especially when you live in Gibraltar.

This is one thing I may be better than you at. When i went to Kirroughtree on my own, I managed to get lost. Maybe an hour in, you come down some singletrack onto a fireroad. The other side side of the fireroad you dip into some trees and the singletrack continues. But as it was on a junction with another fireroad, i went down the fireroad, then carried on into thick gorse and a hillock and then when I hit a farm wall with nowhere to go I decided I may have gone slightly awry. I was thinking that the singletrack wasnt well maintained and pretty hard at that point too 🙂

However, I seem to get lost for no more than half to 3/4 of an hour at a time, so I am sure others have been lost for longer.

Is that too far for N,S or W Leeds riders to get to then? 😀

I’d like to have been offered a ride in Barbarella’s spaceship. Can’t find too many pics that won’t result in a banning so not going to post one.

    This looks pretty ridable huh?

It’s a firebreak, and is part of a local ride as mentioned in a Campo de Gibraltar mountain bike book written by the bloke who runs the LBS in Algecieras.

Except I fail to see how even the riding Gods and Goddesses of STW could do this descent. Just on the horizon, it get’s both steep and any visible path dissapears. It’s ultra rocky, and any kind of track seems way too narrow to get pedals through, i.e. you just end up cycling for a metre or so then you cant budge as your pedals are up against rocks.

And then to make matters worse, 3/4 of the way down, you just run into major undergrowth and there seems no discernable pathway out. I had to climb over barbed wire, and then through thick undergrowth, cutting my legs to shreds, and then through a farm yard and what seemed to be a private driveway.

Excellent – can’t wait to get there! I’ve just put the North Dartmoor and South Dartmoor maps together and yeah, it’s not that far at all huh?

Cheers, Can’t find Canna Park but I’ve located Combe Down, jay’s Grave and Easdon Tor. It’s probably a car drive for me to get there but not too far from Dartington which is great. I just need to hope for an Indian Summer now 🙂
