No idea as my Bikefax Wales book is in The Big Yellow in Leeds and I am some considerable distance away. Will try and remember to dig it out when I pop over next week as i am sure the route is in there.

Do you really need that info dasnut. I am unfit as heck, have a back full of stitches and not been able to ride, but just saw a photo and thought that looks quite high but one heck of a ride so thought I’d give it a whirl. Not even too sure I’ll get to the top but you have to at least try huh?

Yep – I guess a good recovery ride huh? The STW posse will be pleased to know I am not drinking in June due to a strict detox diet so no silly late night posts, just nice photos of Scotland and Wales 🙂

Just checked the on-line map and the route I am talking about is the big loop. Am just wondering if that green/blue singletrack loop is new?

Yeah, I am actually not too sure I am fit enough to get to the summit, but am well up for having a go.

That’s a shame – I am pretty out of shape right now as I have not been able to ride at all so will need some company to help get me to the summit! Looking at those photos a week or two ago it looks pretty major.

Well in July I am going to be eaten alive by mozzies and much worse in the rain forests when I camp out in the middle of nowhere so this would make good preparation 🙂

I remain to be convinced of this! I’ll be riding all Stanes next month, so will have to do some reviews and see how they are not having ridden them or Drumlanrig for a couple of years 🙂

Some great photos here folks. Right now I have a back full of stitches, and I havent been out and about much, so as my May daily photos are not looking too good so far I wont post any. I suppose I have one or two ok ish karaoke ones, but I am looking forward to my May 22nd photo when I give a certain young lady her Spain footie top which i know she is looking forward to as her older brother got given a Cyprus footie top and she didnt get one so I am going to make up for that 😀

Well seems I’ll probably miss you as I get back home to Dumfries on 6th June(finally got my flight booked today) but I am sure you are more than likely to meet a good few STW bods up there and will have tons of fun. I’ll be doing the same routes but luckily will be having plenty of rest days in between the rides too : )

Oh and for the record I really like Ae but havent ridden it for a couple of years so not too sure which bits are currently open and which have weathered. But I am sure it is still a cracking ride.

Great stuff – I can’t wait to spend a day or two there next month. I’ve just been once in the wet and i was all over the shop, so hopefully it will be dry and i wont be slip sliding all over the shop : ) Nice pics too.

Well yes indeed. It’s a shame there isnt a window of opportunity to edit when you wake up in the morning huh? I did actually trawl through the whole thread again to read the original bit about the video and then I realised the error of my ways.

Well right now I will probably have only done one ride in May, and that is a downhill using a lift from a friend to get me to the sumit near Ronda. So what with dates and not knowing I will have my bike means anything mid June is a bit uncertain.

Cool – those should be perfect dates if you are out riding and dont mind me being in a trying to get bike fit again mode.

I am going to be posting up about a Caider Idris (spelling?) ride on 20th as I am in Wales for the Solstice, then may post up a pre-Peru STW Stanes weekender. I was thinking something like 27th Kirroughtree and 28th Dalbeattie?

Yeah sorry for asking about the rally car and ostriches. I know from previous incidents I shouldn’t be on STW when lagered up and mis-reading threads or when tired and emotional. Please accept humble apologies for my confusion and I realise now it was all a creative visualisation and the video doesnt actually exist, although anyone googling “rally car ostrich” will now flippin get my post which is not a legacy one wishes to leave the world huh?

Trekster – mini hijack but I don’t have a date yet from when I will be getting access to my bike and gear back in the UK. Am aiming to be in Dumfries, with bike from 12th June onwards. Look forward to a few local rides and maybe with other STWers too.

I think it would be ironic if IWH used this thread as evidence of threats against him and his family and people here as a result did not get their money back. Obviously it’s good to try and use humour as people are cheesed off, but I think comments here have now overstepped the mark and people maybe shouldn’t sink to the same lows as the people they are complaining about? Maybe time to take this thread down now I feel. 🙁

Although it does seem some of the worse comments have already gone which I think is a good thing overall.

It’s not really the Spanish rocks that will get you. It’s the Spanish thorns as well. In Spain I have been running re-inforced 2.4 Michelin from Decathlon, but then access to a wide range of tyres is limited here and they cost a fortune to import via CRC or Wiggle etc.

I’ve never quite understood what the EOS is – is it the convertible golf but with a different name? I think I missed the launch so never heard all about it.

Not too sure who the guitarists are who are playing during my little 5 seconds of noodle but it really gels, and gels as a whole piece too.
