I guess it depends on what the event is. Is everyone there going to be on 'transmit' mode and looking for opportunities, or is it an event where people are actually looking for people to fulfil situations and projects etc? It certainly can work, but perhaps not often, and maybe you have to choose your networking events wisely. Obviously, a huge amount of business is based on networking, I guess you just need to build your own one up bit by bit, as I am doing now.

Often new technologies are created with little understanding of how they will be utlised in reality. Text messaging is one such case in point, and when it first was launched neither BT Cellnet or Vodafone in the UK for example foresaw just how popular it would become with younger mobile phone users.

So yeah, you may not get it and that is fine – no need to use it. But it is a very flexible technology which enables a lot of creative uses depending on the creativity and the intelligence of the user.

Oh – on facebook I have maybe 100 friends but there are settings where you only read about those friends you really want to : )

I used to do a thing called Boxercise which was circuit training mixed with the occasional boxing gloves and pads. Strength and stamina in a single session. Very good indeed.

In the early 90s I was following the DiY and Smokescreen soundsystems at free parties across the Midlands. I remember thinking that Glastonbury seemed a bit too commercial compared to the free party scene, but maybe that was a tad elitist. By the mid 90s, some friends and I started going to the Big Chill, and I loved that as it was not that large.

When I see Glastonbury on tv, it does seem fantastic, but I would probably feel that it is just a bit too large for me, and I would probably feel a bit to claustrophobic and would not want to stand in a crowd for a long time. At O2, as head of music and games in the later 90s, I went to the V festival which we were sponsoring, so that was good – I had a hotel and a chauffer (i.e. someone in their golf from the marketing agency). Great days the 90s, whatever scene you were into. 😀

Well that's one perforated eardrum and the loss of a good pair of undies after a firecracker was set off a few metres away from me 😯 Brazil seems pretty happy but the crowd were a bit tense for the game and not their normal up for it selves.

Been off my bike a while due to travelling but I also have a dodgy knee which shows no signs of healing. This is as good as my bike photography gets right now.

At that time I will be back in Dumfries and will not be working. Thing is I have a bit of a dodgy knee right now so that may not have healed, but if I am up and riding I could well be up for a few rides. Get in touch nearer the time. Whatever happens I am sure you will have a great time.
