Yeah – He is going to be ok. There is a businessman who has said he will donate the money that the 21 year old cyclist needs to have a new prosthetic arm fitted so that was a nice act of kindness. Lots of cyclists got together and did actually try and find the arm in order to see if it could be saved.

This is actually going to be for a live corporate training game where pen and paper will not be too much use!

Now this this is working, I realise that I need an AND type thing as well.

Did the entrant do this section, and do they have an X? If so, they get these points.

Would anyone wish to offer the best advice for this?

    Hi – I did a typo.

It seems to be working now!

many thanks for all you help. I couldn’t have done this on my own.

    Many thanks!

    Hi Simply Oil

Yes, I have not explained the rules very well as it is a complex game.

Players can either win points on that section or not win points. So some will have an x and some not.

I am struggling as Apple help does not seem to say how to look things up on other sheets.

I have two sheets, POINTS and SCORECARD. I guess I need something like

If (A3=x, add (value in POINTS, B3), anything else, add 0)

Do you know the syntax for this?

Hi – Apple Mac Numbers. I did say Numbers in the title but I guess it is an ambiguous name.

    Thanks

I think I read that Beckham himself is not paying for the room but the club are. I also read that there is some business relation ship between the hotel and PSG, maybe there is the same ultimate owner. So ultimately this is a business deal that makes sense for everyone concerned, including the huge publicity as others have mentioned.

We’re kind of underwater right now in São Paulo so think yourself lucky. We’re running at 2000 lightning strikes a day just in the city :-)

I thought as far as trail centres go it was really excellent with some cracking downhill. Maybe save the blue to last in case you are either tired, the weather really changes or you are short on time?

I watched the 1952 version on tv a couple of nights ago and thought it was excellent.

    Great news.

What version do I choose if I want a high quality version for Apple iTunes and iPod? There seem to be different digital versions.

To be honest that blue bike stand kind of puts you off a bit – I think I would need to see your bike against a neutral background to really comprehend its visual gastalt in all its totality.

I think I buy and sell too much maybe. Someone doesn’t do well and I sell, someone does well and I buy and then the next few games they do nothing.

Plumber – with all due respect I couldn’t disagree more :-)

What you need is apes, lots of apes for the establishing shots. And if your mid 1990s deep house track lasts 8:38 then so be it :D

So yeah kendonagasaki – get yourself some apes for your next masterpiece and you’ll be fine.

Great video – really enjoyed seeing where you ride, and the river shots were great.

Again, hopefully this is gentle. The video takes a bit of time to get going. Maybe instead of seeing you and the car, maybe try and get some shots introducing Scooby. That would have been interesting. And yeah, maybe think about the same at the end. Once you have done two or three rides you will have more footage for a fuller video.

And yeah, the black around the edges wasn’t great, even in expanded mode the screen was small. But I am sure you will get that sorted out in time with the settings.

But well done. Good music choice too. It’s always fun to see rides with dogs.

You’re a star – it was most certainly “The Magnificent Race”

Many thanks to everyone for helping

Ok, maybe it was set in say the 1900s!

Thanks B.A. Nana – I have had a look and that is not it. I can almost see the visual style, and I am sure it was quite cartoon like.

Brazilian commentary is great and enjoying both players.

Shame they don’t scream “gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” every game though :-)

    Goes something like this

Psychologist for BT in their Human Factors department (user centred design and evaluation)
Business development manager at BT Cellnet responsible for smart phones (pre-wap so was involved in developing those standards)
Head of Music and Games at Genie Internet (mobile portal owned by BT Cellnet)
Business development manager at a small mobile games company
    Gap year aged 34
Internet casino manager for William Hill (inc. 2 years in Gibraltar)
MSc in Holistic Science (economics, ecology and complexity theory)
Since graduating in 2010 I have not been in employment, but just doing a little freelance work while developing contacts in Brazil. I now have a work visa so things are beginning to look up this year. I generally say I am a teacher and consultant in chaos and complexity theory, sustainability and creativity. My blog is doing quite well too which I started writing on in 2010.

Well folks Reginaldo has emailed me again and again is really grateful for all your help.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good videos of all these places mentioned? I am now back in Brazil and didn’t get too much of a chance to ride over Christmas, so I’d like to see them too.

    Hi Trekster

They have plenty of photos of mine already so they can see the south of Scotland. However, I thought it may be a little out of the way for a first trip which also takes in the mountains and highlands?

    Oi Reginaldo

Welcome to Singletrackworld. It is a very friendly community and if you have any more questions I am sure people will be willing to help, especially as Scotland is the greatest mountain biking country in the world!

    Um grande abraço

    Thanks again for these suggestions.

Druidh – when you say the WHW “gets booked up” what exactly does this mean? Do you need tickets to do it, ie. numbers are limited to stop too much environmental damage?

    Cheers

    Absolutely tmb.

I have been offered rides already in Brazil with people who are just friends of friends – there is a pretty healthy MTB scene developing there now.

I’ll check about how much gear they have and do some more googling of the WHW.

I will also invite them to join this thread but just thought I would get it started so they could have some initial information to think about.

    Wow – that’s quite a sight.

I assume it is pretty scenic along the way?

    Thanks again folks.

What is the canal like? Is it mainly tow path or does the track vary at all?

    Hi Druid

I am not too sure about accommodation but I am sure bike friendly B&Bs with some clothes washing facilities would be good.

They are bringing their own bikes.

If any of you have links to info about these routes that would be great. I thought that I would suggest buying one or two books on biking in Scotland too, so if you know of any good ones that would be great too.

I ride a 2005 Kona Caldera. It has new Rebeh front forks. Other bits have been replaced as and when they have worn out.

Cheers – that’s a great tip as I have never been off piste at Ae.

    simonralli2

    Cheers for that

I have now found my old Ae map and think I can see where you are. It only shows a single fireroad from the end of Granny Green Luv back to post 51 where the blue meets the red. I am pretty out of shape so I may just do the first part of the red and then on to the blue. The green also seems to take to up to the blue so I may look out for that to see if I can get another run on the blue bit on the way back, or heck, even throw in The Shredder which I’ve done a couple of times : )

It’s just not possible for me to slow down for the simple reason that if I did my riding is so chilled and not fast I’d end up travelling backwards. :-)

My friend Lucy is the lead singer in a new-ish folk band Pilgrim’s Way. They list all their gigs here, which should be be a pretty good reference for venues with other similar bands:
