I know these new SC are expensive.. but there are a suprising amount of them out there, and other bikes of simular price.
At Recent Steel City downhill race in Sheffield, I counted six carbon santa cruz bikes, Nomads, TRc, Tallboys (Ok one was Peatys).
On top of that there were so many other Ibis etc etc…

There was a guy selling Ti 11-36 9 speed on Ebay.. i bought one.. it was utter utter shite.. and I wont hold my words back.

He got a lot of flack over on US MTBR forum… and I chipped in.

Basically the big ring snapped at one of the joints after three rides, and they didnt fit free hub very well.. there is a long list of issues.

Just in case you bump into him. Lucky Nino was his name..

Cheers Jo, so you still have to run the alfine cable entry horizontal to the chain stay ? some of the pomp pics show it running diagonal up the seat stay..but I cant appear to set the alfine in that position.

Well north of hadrians wall we look at the map, pick a route and ride…

South I do too… thats how I discovered a miles of great trails near my house, however, given I’m away for three days, I thought It wouldnt be too bad to ask a comunity of riders, some of which who are local to Filey, who in a community minded way, may share a little of there knowledge so that I may have a nice ride, on a trail thats OK and not try a trail thats especially sensative or a certain NO NO.
Via email to protect said trail, as I have done for others on here.

Don’t see any harm in that….

Is that two DH first in this race ?
First win at a DH race for a 29er and first podium at a DH race for 650b wheels ?

What a FANTASTIC Day it was, loved beeing there and er trying to race. We have a GREAT MTB community in Sheffield and really celebrate having a World Champ riding amongst us.
I didnt realise POOK and Hora were there, would love to have seen who your were.

Steve, well done to you and the team, everything worked like clockwork.

I wont hesitate to Race and Sponsor the prize again next year, unless your find a more bike orientatned sponsor this time 😉

BTW, Pinhead is just a wind up(I know who you are) -Rob told me yesterday 😉 Shame its tarnished the thread a little though.

Glad I pluckup up courage to do the drop this year.

FFS Dan just bloody ride and stop pontificating. I wish I had the free time you have to ride, and yet I still find time to ride 100 miles a month.
Your in a fantastic location to just ride out of your door on your own at night, morning, even weekends ! Rivelin, Houndkirk.. and now the Peak.

Pick yerself up and ride before you have kids and you have fek all time 😉

The 2.1″ SB8s when on the MTB though are surprisingly draggy I think.
No your not alone, I agree, I think my Ardents 2.2 are less draggy on road than SB8 2.1s

    simonm

SB8 are pretty draggy on the road..suprisingly.

    What about Shwalbe Silento..
    http://www.ukbikestore.co.uk/wl.aspx?3&req=0-TYS29-7038

Can get them upto 1.75″ in size
