I;ve had both. The memory map unit was awfull compared to the Garmin 800.
The only upside was better quality maps/bigger display. But I’d go Garmin anytime.

Yes, the third set(that’s right, the third set!) had this problem.

At that point I got a refund.

mmmm, think I may stick with the refund and go back to good ol safe work well revs.

Wish I”d seen this thread sooner.

I had a bad deville, returned to Bos, first ride out felt amazing, then towards end of the ride went back to feeling like a pogo stick.

let the air out and it sinks down, but, the rebound damping does NOTHING to feel of the fork. Tried another Deville in LBS and rebound damping and a massive effect.

Anyone else had that issue ?

Ive got a fully converted Bongo, 95 with about 80k on the clock. I’ve been given a price of £5000 for part ex against new. Its a fantastic van. So I bet you can get one for £6k to £7k on ebay ?

Plenty or room around the mech, was just a normal XT front mech. a good couple of cm from memory

Yeh, The Nics are awfull to be honest. Very squirmy.. I guess there is just better out there now and I’m used to better tyres

    Hi I have one.

I built it up back in June, so one of the first around. First setup with 100mm Rebas, now I have 120mm Revelation. The 120mm Rev has made all the difference to the bike.

I also have a TRc, and actually, its suprising how close to the TRc this bike rides.

The 100mm travel bottom is found from time to time.. at which point you bend your legs, I’ve had no brake jack etc expected with a single pivot, and to be honest feels almost as plush as VPP on TRc.

I have had issues with the pivot bolts coming loose after the last couple of rides despite being previously tightend. That issue I’m monitoring.

Built up it weighs 28lbs with Reverb post, hope hoops, some XT kit. I’ve recently setup as 1×10 and gives me plenty of range.

Its best with a flat bar, I have Kore Torsion Bars 710 Flat with 9 degree back sweep. Briefly had some riser bars which didnt feel nice

Its better than the TRc in the expected areas for large wheels. Climbing, especially technical is better. Easier going over longer rides, not that the TRc is displeasurable. Descending is pretty good fun. On my local loops around Sheffield / Peak, the only descernable difference in my Strava times between the two bikes are what the trails are like and how I’m feeling…not the bikes which is a suprise.

Its actually more easy to push around corners than you would expect.

I rode the same trail recently over Derwent edge on Superlight 29, then two weeks later on TRc. Times were simular, except the flagged section where the Superlight was MUCH faster and easier to pedal. The Climb was better on the Superlight, the descent as much fun on both.
When the going got very rocky the TRc was better.

I wish I could find some 29er tyres as good as RQ 2.2 Black chilis on TRc

    I’m riding a small and I’m 5’6″, apparently to short to ride a 29er !

Hope that helps some. If you have any questions fire away.

I think this pic was before The Revs and 1×10 went on.

same opinion as mboy. XR4 a ok all rounder, nothing to write home about. RQ 2.2 BC rune tubeless (not UST version) best all round tyre ever. Fast, gripps realyl well off camber and on roots, love them.

Flats. On-one fleegle. Thinking about Midges, but Bike also has to suite the Mrs when she’s riding it on disused railways, so not sure she’d be happy with road brakes. So prefering to leave as flats.

Ski village location has always worried me, went up there the other day, and some of its pretty remote / isolated for this kind of thing to happen

I hope the police are treating this with the seriousness it deserves.
Its always been one of my feers as scum realise the value of bikes, besides a car, what else do you carry around that’s worth 3, 4, 6k ?

Other night on a local estate near me I went a long way out of my way to avoid a group ahead in the road that I just didn’t trust.

Britains a great place to live now isn’t it !

The RQ are not black chili.

Actually, I have a couple of 2.4 Ardents I ran for a while… I was put off by the terrible performance of 26″ 2.2’s in anything wettish… will give them a go.

To the People reccomending Hans Dampfs, where are you riding ?

Thats great, He can ride really well. I just can’t think of anywhere for novices in the Peak where my daughter could ride singletrack. (when she starts to pedal).

The only issue we have with Tapes is that were not quite the size to have a full time IT person, so our IT is supported by outside company, and no one in office is quite up to / knowledgeable enough to perform it.

Although I’m thinking of just getting another set of HD’s and rotating the backup hard drives once a month off site.
