Good on the banks for not conceding to this. If they had lost, each and everyone of us would end up paying for the people who have let there fees get up to thousands, there was one women on TV the other day who had objected to pay the fees over 4 years ago, she owed something like £150 then, now she owes over £3500k !
This has been another case of many memebers of the public thinking they can get away with paying whats rightly due at everyone elses cost….

Great to see the banks dropping charges…. but were do you think they have recouped these losses ?

I've found endless trails from Stannington (where I live), Mostly footpaths (so night rides). Ride something different each week in Loxely or Rivelin valley, and even now still finding new great bits of singletrack. Get an OS map, plan a route and give it a go…. that's what I do. Sometimes you get a cracker, but more often than not you have to expect to go a bit oldskool and accept a good bit of Tarmac to get to the nice sections. Last week found a real gem descending to a certain reservoir in the Loxley Valley.

I'm doing the same research. They are BRAD Harrison connectors. Brad do two sizes, M12 or M8.. Thats about as far as I've got so far.

RSWWW Stock some of them, but re-wirable only appear to be in M12 size, thats listed as 5cm long connetor, far to big to be usefull.

RE-READ, I've got VISION HID's, so no idea if there the same as LED connectors.

My bro in law lives out that way Dan, and a couple of my mates ended up there in the mid 90s when all the housing estates were built… Given the choice, Penis tone is a much nicer rural location. That whole valley, Stocksbridge etc, is getting regeneration money.

Whichever location Dan, there all a looooong way from the lifestyle of eccy road. Move to Penistone, have a sprog, then you wont miss all the convenient bars, shops, takeaways, travel links, nightlife etc.. I still miss eccy road, took a long time to adjust, but I love where I live now, given my current lifestyle.

Ive gone from Float 32s to Revs (2009), I wanted travel adjust but couldnt afford the Talas. I've also got a pair of 36 Talas on my other bike. To be honest, as someone said above, the RS are not a patch on the Talas or Floats. The damping is in another league on Fox's.. I've found the revs divey just when your doing slow tech stuff compared to fox, then harsh when your going fast over stutter bumps compared to Foxs. I've found the same in the past with RS.. fox's are just sooooo much plusher and behave as you want them to at the right time.

Regarding the stiffness thing, from 15mm Floats I ran to the 20mm Revs… I've not noticed the difference, and the worse damping of the RS I've certainly noticed.

Regarding travel adjust, the 3 position Talas is far superior to RS adjust, a quick flick, which you can do while riding. much better of Foxs.

All that said, you have to put the effort / cost into maintaining fox forks.. but to keep perfection, its a small price to pay. Over only a few years I've had Fox Vanilla 32s 05, Fox 36 Talas, Fox 36 Vans, Fox 32 floats, RS Revs 07, Revs 09, Pikes 08 and each time the Foxs have felt better. The only RS exception I've had is Boxxers… which are fantastic, but then I've never had a pair of Fox 40's

Have those students chased you that far out of town ?

Long way to ride to work Dan, although they are improving the TPT through Oughtibridge to Town, with plans to make it better up to Stocksbridge…

Also consider Wharncliffe side, Oughtibridge, Stocksbridge, Grenoside if your looking out that way.

As Above Lex's is a great little shop, owners are V helpfull and hold regular night rides. Wharncliffe is a mere step away down the TPT.

so Jamie, your going to get a load of blokes emailing you to see if they have 5 or 6 inches ?………

    simonm
    Free Member

Dan, Could this bit that Jamie mentions, "The 2:1 5" & 6" frames were the same apart from a modification inside the shock to limit stroke." mean that the shock could still have the same amount of shaft externally, but be limited in its travel. Therefore both the 5" and 6" have the same amount of shaft showing.. That way all the linkages stay at 2:1, and the mounts would be the same for the frame ?

Thats true about Parkwood-1st phase is small though, Wharncliffe now has green light for funded development, The Peak on the doorstep… Sheffield could be a couple of years away from becoming a bit of a MTB Mecca (not that it isnt already)

Why does it make me shudder to spend this much on a boiler when my bike cost more ;-)

    simonm

When I opened up my Hope HID, the bulb is sealed…it has to be to arc. Sounds like your original Bulb cracked to get water in it.

so, we should have a 2nd branch in sheffield then?

Yes Si ! The number of people who drive out to your place from Sheffield is amazing, and that shows how far people will go for good service. Combine your good service with a Sheffield location, cycling distance of Student areas…..and a cafe… instant success

anyone done a straight boiler swap got an idea of prices (old one is only 1999, cheep twadle that builders stuck in a newbuild)

Mrtrotter, ive got same issue, opened up mine tonight and got the following research done.

I've narrowed it down to two possible bulbs off the Welch Allyn site. The ballest is B10N003 at 14v which runs a few lamps. There are two lamps that run off it. A 6 degree or 13 degree

There is a min order qty of $100 (not sure if that includes shipping) Each bulb is £28 at todays rate, plus shipping plus a possible VAT and Duty charge, so if Hope do it for £40 its not a bad deal.

Let me know what Hope say if you can please. If there more expensive, I'd be willing to order these from USA then ship on at cost to you.

Then again… how else do you stop a coil shock from getting to the end of travel….mmm.. I'll take a look at my DHX when I get home Dan, its got simular bumper on it.

Dont think they would design to use a squishy bumper Dan… kinda defeats the reason for that curnutt shock.
