So being dumb, just to be clear. I can basically run any MIDDLE Ring without spacers as my inner is an XTR Middleburn one ?

    Cheers.

The inner ring was definatley differnt, I know recently as I had a standard middle burn ring delviered and it was incorrect.

    cool Iain.

One point at Wharncliffe.. we were pissed as they started riding the trail that we had cut by hand in our own time..that’s not going to go down well with anyone.

And the range of riders was from Chavs on 25’s to fully suited and booted Enduro riders.

How about if they are riding illegally report them, if not stop moaning.

I do and have done.. Nothing wrong with trying to get in touch with a group of users (us) to raise the issue’s profile with the police.

When we had sever issues at Wharncliffe, the police said to us that the best way to get action was for everyone to report the occurrences to the 101 number. The police said that 101 number actions where scored by the frequency of complaints. More complaints = more likely to get action.

For me its more a question of environmental impact

Its worse than that.. they are outright breaking the law and simply getting away with it.
Its a free for all and they know they can get away with it scott free.

There is a safety aspect here that hasn’t been addressed. Its illegal for MOTOR vehicles to drive on footpaths to protect the non motorised from being killed ! As these people user more and more FP and Bridleways… at later and later times of the day, inevitably soon someone will be run over by them.

I dont get why we tow the line so much..

So, MTB riders are supposed to give way to walkers, walkers to horses.. Horses have the highest right of way on Bridleways.. Until it comes to Motorbikes on Roman road who just furking drive towards you and everyone has to get out of the way…. Thats my xp of them on that bridleway…

There is that whole erosion debate.. during which everyone IGNORES the MASSIVE trail the Motorbike riders have struck straight across the hill between Roman road and the higher bridleway.. just for fun..

Makes you want to give up slowing down for the other users as they don’t appear to give a flying ****. Why tow the line any more ? Lets take the footpaths…

nope, despite being a massive fan of travel adjust, I’ve taken advice / chatted to a lot of people over the last few weeks and went with fixed travel and trust the bikes geometry. There the latest RC2DH ones, 170mm travel shimmed down to 160mm maxle light.. Sat on the front of the Nomad they felt like a trail fork really.

Rode the Lyriks tonight Dan.. every bit as nice as 36’s.. maybe even a bit more “stand up” if that makes sense… charged through big rocky bits when I got the line wrong.. very very pleased with them.

I just wonder if trail centres etc are going to feel dead with big forks?

no… it will still be fun I’m sure.. I really DIDN’T hate Kirroughtree Glentress Red / CYB..etc.etc. becuase my forks were 36’s !

thats mad that someone could loose a whole Camelback and not notice… unless it was next to there car at the end of a ride and they drove off or something….

mmm, my recent build has 35mm forks on it and is still sub 29lbs Dan…

Get the big forks m8, When I had Alpine and ST4 on had 36s the other 32s. I would feel more confidant at Wharncliffe with a pair of 36’s upfront than 32s.

I bet you can still build the Tracer to 30lbs with 36’s on. Your old Reign was 33lbs and I never saw you die on the trail after riding all day 😉

BTW, take a look at some Lyriks.

Ive only got choice of one of these (!!! I know its a lot of tyres to have sat in the garage)

    2.1 Small block 8
    2.1 Advantage exception 60a
    2.3 Eskar S-works
    2.2 Captain S-works
    2.35 swamp thing 1ply 60a
    2.35 Nevegal
    2.2 Ardent

On a ST4, riding up in the lakes for the first time this weekend and just picking tyres off the wall to see what to use..

Front is Advantage 2.4 (I know big but fun and OK rolling)

Given its going to rain (suprise!) for the Rear I've got the choice of,

    2.1 Small block 8
    2.1 Advantage exception 60a
    2.3 Eskar S-works
    2.2 Captain S-works
    2.35 swamp thing 1ply 60a
    2.35 Nevegal
    2.2 Ardent

Was going to run ardent on the back if its dryer as I don't get on with it in the rain when its slippy (like in Grizedal)…

    Choices choices…

Considering these have only recently become popular.. there appears to be quite a few failures / rips.
