money was invented to spend. It is the only time it is any good, when it is spent.

Thats the first indication I’ve seen that the recesion is over 🙂

not many change there fork per trail at Wharncliffe Hora !

There is a vast range of trails. That one is new, steep loamy.. The one next to it has the 6′ drop offs, the one the other way is Peatys which is mostly rock… etc etc..

sucks how the FE have done this many times, Dalby, CYB, now GT. They ride on the passion created by the local cafe’s then when it hits critical mass cash in and dump the original people who created the success. Very ruthless and business like really.

but i do feel that retail has changed and its not all about sales anymore,

Hehe. Your not really that naive are you ? A business exists to make profit. If the business is perceived to be kind / sensitive / green / helping local farmers etc etc, then Joe public will think its alright to buy from the corporate monster.
tes is than it ever was with local produce / local sourcing.

Tesco have annihilated any profit in the supply chain leading to them.. all margin is Channelled to there share holders at the end… one vicious company.. small margins on large volume.. “Every little counts” !

I smoked 30 a day until 6 years ago.. When I quit, I used patches, determination, a new house with larger mortgage, and took up mountain biking to keep me from smoking… 6 years down the line, i’ve certainly spent more on bikes than I did on cigs… but I’ve had soo much more fun and I don’t stink like a dirty (old) pub anymore !

Two other things stopped me. 1, my wife is a respiritory nurse – does this spirometry test that shows your lung age vs actuall age… V scary to see that 10 years ahead of actual age.. today I’m beating my age by 5 years.

The other thing was Nigela’s husband dying from Lung cancer at 30 something and not seeing his two daughters growing up….I wanted to see mine growing up.

To be honest, I couldnt face being socially outcast as smokers are now, being kicked outside into the street to smoke etc.

Good luck to anyone quiting… its worth it.

We did that quad ride in the desert… I see on that pic there are few not wearing helmets.. we didn’t (STOOPID-we always do MTBing) my wife hit a jump, in low light it was hard to see, she launched about 6′ into the air, landed the quad but then it flipped and landed on top of her. I was sure she was ded, luckily it landed with the seat over the top of her back.. just about the only point that wouldn’t have severely injured her. She was cut and bleed and broke three ribs… not a nice flight home.
bit of preaching to the converted on her but, don’t let your guard down on hols and forget to wear a helmet… AND ride within your abilities on the quad bikes, they don’ manage a group in the same way hey would in the UK.

absolutely lethal on front in mud / peaty stuff, floated everywhere, went sideways. tried on back , reversed direction to that marked and not too bad on most terrain. Conclusion avoid at all cost on front unless dry

Same XP here.. almost died on Winhill greasy single track with it on front.
Fantastic at last years weekender on loose, rocky and trail centre type stuff. Also great in the Peak over 3 seasons.

I found overall more grip than Advantages, like a highroller but faster rolling.

I have the Lyric Air DH on my Nomad – Fanstastic Fork – on par if not better than 160 36s I’ve run in the past.

I’m realyl very happy with the Lyric, doesnt dive through travel, very plush from the start – really is like a mini Boxxer.

When I was in Dahab there appeared to be a regular ride heading out each week. I think one of the hotels were renting MTB’s or had an Activity day with MTBs each week.

MTB is more popular up in Israel, I bet if you head up to Elat there is riding around there somewhere.
