thanks all.. O well, when the seat buzzz on the tyre she just shouts that she likes bumps ! Maybe they didn’t have Scandal 29ers in mind when designing them. I have bought a different mount as the standard one wouldn’t fit under the seat when on the set tube post.

Kirroughtree is by far the best of 7stanes however, you have to work hard at it, its a long trail and tough.. I think these days a lot of people want to the smiles for easy miles of Glentress Red.

hehe, that video is too represntative of what riding was like at the time. Look at the other vids on You tube to see more up to date looking riding.

I’ve had a set of Crampons since they came out. Whats that about 15months or so, ridden in the Peak and etc weekly, I need to replace the bearings in one side but they have lasted well.

Mind you, if you want zero maintenance go with the Twenty6 Prerunners with Ti axles- that don’t use bearings but bushings (not soft metal ones that wear !)

They grip as well as they look. I have heard of people breaking some of the pin mounts on them on rocks but it’s not too rocky here and I can throw the Welgo’s on for those rides.

I have with mine, I ride in the Peak, two of the mounts in particular have smashed off. And the pins are very week. I’ve replaced them with grub screws. That said, Twenty6 have re-designed them now, not sure if there as light.

I’m suprised how many people complain that bearings wear out… they do.. and you replace them.. its easy really. Whats tuff is getting a lot of wear out of thin pedals as the bearings are so small. Hence Canfield using two side by side.

    What Chariot say

How and when you use your trailer depends on some key points – what mode do you want to use and the duration, the physcial developement of your child (ie the strength in the neck and back muscles of your child eg can he or she sit on their own yet), the time of year eg is it warm or cold. Generally speaking as a very rough starting point you can consider taking your child out for walks at about 14 – 18 weeks. Gentle short bicycle rides can start at about 16 – 20 weeks. Skiing at about 16 – 20 weeks. Running and faster bicycle rides at about 20 – 24 weeks

around 8/9 months in a baby support (not the baby sling sold by Chariot) its different and is basically a Polystyrene formed seat that supported whole back. Its made by Weber.

If its Forestry it sounds about right, they don’t need our help now campaigning to save them from being sacked so back to the normal F&*(*”£$ the mountain bikers pattern.

I had a pretty good day marshalling on the nice left hand corner 3/4s of the way down. It was pretty cold and damp being stood there for 7 hours, though! It sounds like it was a great success, though, which is what it’s all about.

Hey Paul, good effort to the marshals who were up there on the coarse all day on there lonesome.. in the rain.. massive thanks to you all for watching out for us 😉

actually.. After todays ride I’ve changed my mind.. never ever ever use them in the wet… total shite !

Tyre that I really like.. sometimes. In the wet mud.. worse than any other I’ve found in terms of grip. For that Reason, even in the Peak, I didnt run them front when it was a very wet.

They grip amazing in dry / a bit damp… and actually a lot dragier on the rear than the pattern would make you think.

At Lee quarry one and front and back was fantastic.. grippy.. and didnt feel draggy at all.

Its supposed to be a high roller replacement, its very close on grip but not as all round as a high roller with any given ground condition.

Best brakes i’ve ever owened (and had Hope, Avid, Formula, Hayes) of varying types over 6 years

geetee1972, thats really intresting on the Rotor thickness, I’m running an Avid rotor on the front and have exactly the issue you describe, thanks for highlighting that. I can solve it now as its been bugging me for a while.

O, actually there not the BEST i’ve ever owned as I’ve just fitted R1’s and they are every bit as good as the Ones but lighter.

The one thing I’m maybe considering there worth is for Pensions, I mean if they can pick better funds, or monitor them regually, than I do.. That said, I bet they still only review once per year.

we stayed at a campsite near Ashbourne, right against the Tissington trail, you could ride 30mins into ashbourne, really nice park etc or the other direction to villages, all safely accessible via the trail. Really good biking / family centric location. Not sure if there would be 2 weeks worth of entertainment though.
There are a few sites, Callow top – Ashbourne Heights and Rivendale. All either on or just off the Tissington trail.
