Yeh, I’ve just had the same issue – Camel back warranty not worth the paper its written on…. I really have no recolection of where i purchased it from, and what should it matter if there is a lifetime warranty ? I’m certainly not going to get someone I DIDNT purchase it from to warrent it !

Dear Simon
Thank you for your e-mail regarding your Camelbak reservoir, we are sorry to hear of the issue you have experienced with this product.
We would ask you to return the item to the shop from which it was purchased for inspection under warranty, any warranty claim lies with the retailer even if it was given as a gift or won as a prize. This also includes mail order and internet companies as the product should also be returned to them for inspection.
As well as the receipt a proof of purchase can include a credit or debit card statement or delivery note. If you have mislaid your receipt then please discuss with the shop further.

With kind regards

compared to how hammered they were for 2 y/o cranks.. they look like they will get another 3 years out of them.

Another question – since when has it been normal for kids to go into school to get their A level results?

We did in 1988

there just acting like normal kids.. you give give give to them for so many years, whitout question, or reason, or asking for anything in return.. then take it all away they will throw a tantrum.

My shares are down 12% in one day

shonky portfolio composition I’d say…

OK, maybe an over exageration at 12%… still its 3% now and dropping quick towards close… 3% is still a pretty Mahooosive amount of value isnt it ?

Yeh, no worries, when house attached to ours lay empty for a while a developer knocked on our door asking for next of kin / contact details, we passed them on and he did it up.. helped increase the value of our house.

OR..

Buy some Ceramic coated ones from this guy in states… no logos.. you can buy XTR M970 cranks from him pre-coated for $295

Ive sent some to him for coating, $90 + $33 post, then about $10 per ring if you want them coating too, awaiting there return but should look like below but M970s not those older ones..nice gloss black finish.

I did this to some part worn XTRs M970s the other day… light sandpaper, very fine and it took quite a while. This left a dull allu finish, which I then polished with a buffing attachment for my Drill with some polishing paste.

Polishing compound was this

Buffing bits like this.

At this price though… a better buy than Hope Hoops…

EDIT:There the wrong model.. sorry.

I also have some older Roval Traversee.. all well for the first 6months, then the rim got badly dinged.. may have just been one of those things but had flows for longer in same area without ding.. Then spoke broke at Wharncliffe on DH track.. again probably not that suprising.. and I’ve replaced the bearings twice in 14months of use..

There OK, but not as robust as Stans/Hope combo IMHO. They are nice and quite though.

would you get away with Crests on Evos ? lighter than flows. mine come to 1720g with yellow tape and valves.

So, what everyone is saying is that if you have the £12k sat around, then there a pretty good investment, and you help the environment at the same time = no brainer.

Downside is that if you move – then you’d have to have them de-installed and re-installed OR sell them onto the next owner – that could be a plus on selling your house as it generates a little income ?

So, there are limited forks available for these new bikes ? I guess most are OEM aswell ?

eeek hope no one reads Singletrack content...

When you’ve been riding a bike for a while you can start to get a little complacent in the way it rides. It all becomes a bit too familiar and you take it for granted. So I took my hardtail out for a ride. I was blown away by how much more difficult downhills, climbs, pretty much everything, was. You don’t know what you’ve til it’s gone. It was at this moment I realised this is the most favourite bike I’ve ever owned.

Ride your bike to other places….

I do / did, to wharncliffe etc… and did my time there digging the mud for the benefit of all and what did that bring us.. F’all.. there has been more trail development there since the legitimate WRC left and the unsanctioned building moved in.

I wonder how much mileage there would be in selling a permit to allow riding on any recognised trail in the Peak? And of course a similar permit to allow walking on any trail in the Peak?

I really think that has some mileage, given the right price, and that it all goes back to trail maintenance… its a gem of an idea.

Anyone who can afford a MTB that is up to riding in the Peak (Not hardtails) can afford £10,£20, £30 pa to ride there.

As for ‘a serious voice in the future’, that’s about something completely different which is the lack of any viable representative body representing mountain bikers.

Most valid point on the whole thread… and kinda the thing I was trying to inspire the creation of..

You know the mass trespass was only 500 people…… and look what it achieved.

a bit of a one to be honest.. I’m just very disappointing that I wasn’t told to ride better much sooner..poor effort forum.

BTW, I’m not a big hard tail fan..did I mention that ?

Is that not just the start of some crappy 80s movie with mtbing bits added to it ?
