Possibly, try it and see. But factor the cost of a tune/rebuild into the cost. Any tune specced by a manufacturer will be based on average values (& the designers opinion) so even with correct tune very light/heavy & fast/slow riders may benefit from s retune

Go for crown adjust it’s a lot less faffy.
Your lbs may be able to do a deal on some forks/ price match if they talk to the distributor & advise & fit all parts to save you the confusion/hassle.

Experts? Yep the forum is full of them ;-)
Yes you can swap travel on 2017 pikes by swapping the air shaft maybe able to get a debonair upgrade one too, or one of the other systems that increase the negative air chamber volume ( smoother initial movement) luftkappe etc.

Flat 6 sided socket, if you slip it’ll be a mess of a pricey damper tip cap..

Yes above, full service due every 12/18 month service really to keep them tip-top.
Air seal leaking +ve/-ve chamber/ through the inside seal head into the lowers ( the seals are in contact with dirty ( & small amount of lower lube) & you’re damping oil will be a bit degraded too. They’ll feel great when you get them back.

Love the fabric gripper bottles we do in the shop, bobbly top grippy bit, good bite valve and nice wide opening for cleaning

Love it, short travel hardtail, get to the front and nail it for first few miles to keep clear of the crowds ;-)

Roughcut all day, rl2 a bit rubbish tbh.
Saying that the roughcut isn’t as good as fox & rockshox higher end dampers, but if the price is good seeing as there seem to be silly deal on xfusion stuff atm.

Always change them as pain in the arse if slightly deformed.

Are Pearce up & running again after being robbed last week?

Looks like an unevenly worn eyelet bushing (du bushing) or misaligned eyelet bore in the shock.
A misaligned frame will cause uneven worn in bushings, have seen a few do this

Running drops upside is frowned upon in some circles mind you..

  • Ta, yes I did look at the revs ads the damper is tuneable, RCT3 have had and don’t Need a lock out hence the rc2 option.
Only other thing on my mind is that at that price point I can get a set of mrp’s & I know the build quality will be better…

Having read the whole thread & from what i’ve seen/heard from other sources i’m surprised anyone would associate themselves with the company or defend them in any way, what’s the deal Joe?

Not sure i’d Want to grease my fork Stantions as they suggest…
Sram butter is good for internal wiper seal lubrication

Could be a number of things, best to open them up & have a look.
My money would be on a rolled foam ring catching in the top bush, although could be damper issue.

Yes

Easier to post pictures off phone but does seem to be less stuff.
Main issue for me is the postal service, currently have wheel somewhere on way to me & a rebound knob somewhere on way to the buyer…

As above used rubber mate or tiles in workshop by benches or areas of heavy traffic, although this was for work workshops

Cheers for replies.
Yes exactly as above, struggle to walk more than a couple hundred yards at end of day without having to sit or crouch down, but embarrassing looking like you’re stopping to Poo yourself in town 😯
Bike seems fine on cycle trail or road, but stopped MTB & surfing as back potentially seizing is a worry

Oh! and make sure you start painting from the inside/back outwards ;-)

Sounds like you need another air chamber spacer ( token) to get the spring curve to ramp up more giving more support in the mid and end of travel.

Whatever you do avoid ronseal stuff utter utter crap.
Leyland paints are great though, but is key as in get everything hoovered repeatedly and scrub the floor with white spirit. I spent a few days prepping the floors in my workshops.
Oh & a light colour in best too for finding things you drop & general lightness.
You’ll also need to do a wash coat & a couple (minimum) top coats.

From memory there is just 1/4 turn, more than that and your forcing it past the limit of adjustment.
The long black adjuster poopscoop referred to limits the amount of rotation.

Are the Mattocs better than the sweeps as the sweeps I had (rl) and the metrics I tried with a roughcut damper were heavy and the dampers felt last than fabulous.
Sorry for hyjack but after a set of cheap fork myself but wouldn’t buy xfusion again
