I’ve had 3 over the years (Mk 1 an 2) – plus had a quick pedal on a Mk3. Geo wise it’s similar enough to a Bronson to be plenty capable on descents/rougher stuff – but a but more poppy and fun on climbs and the level.
We (18 Bikes) have just got a Large 5010 demo bike, if you’re anywhere near us? We’ve got 2.8″ wheels on our Bronson and can swap those across too.
Or, if you’re handy enough to remove the linkages then you could post them to a dealer – we’d (18 Bikes) certainly be happy to just replace the bearings that way.
Bearings can be done via the dealer, or direct with Jungle.
It’s all pretty decent to be fair and £500k will get you plenty of choice. I’ve just moved to Bradway having been in Dore, Fulwood, Ecclesall before. Dore definitely has a bit of snootiness and a price premium that I’m not entirely convinced is justified.
for a bit more rural, consider the bits around Holmesfield/Millthorpe and the bits that lead off Rivelin Valley road too.
They weren’t happy enough to launch them – kept coming up with new ideas/functions and couldn’t quite decide where to draw the line with what to offer. Last they told us was that we should see for 2019 model range.
Fire me an email to info@18bikes.co.uk and I can keep you in the loop once they’re around and about if you like.
A wee bounce for this – folks, we need your cash. If you can throw a tenner in, it’ll make all the difference. Spread the word, share it on social media – pretty please!
We’ve had one of the older 31.8 versions for ages now, can chat to Matt about you borrowing that if you like. 35mm should be next month, so we’re told.
We’ve just (yesterday) had our first delivery of Wahoo through, very very impressed. Gone for an Element myself, the setup was a complete piece of piss, excellent. Had a 510 before that, which was ok – but I’d not go further than that!
hehe, interestingly enough – we (18 Bikes) have one in the very same colours. It’s a 19″. I was only thinking the other about how it doesn’t get used and ought to find a new home where it’ll get some riding.
glad to hear it fella, but Royal Mail take some of the credit too. I did make sure it got round to the post office in plenty of time for the collection, but they did the rest!
Hope do list a conversion kit as “12mm” which is the 135 x 12mm. If you recently bought Hope Pro 4 Hoops, they’d come with 135mm QR and 142 x 12 adaptors.
I am, but it’s Matt B who tends to wave the Tig torch, especially when it comes to Al. I’ll have a word with him, but we’re packing the workshop to move right now, so it might be August before we can take a look.
Alphaweld in Stoney Middleton/Calver might be worth a shout.
Fwiw, we (18 Bikes) are stocking a fair few DT rims and plenty of their spokes. I’ll aim to get those bits up on our website asap, but feel free to email us in the mean time for any DT bits. Madison can usually get things to us next day if we’ve not got.
We’ve been more than impressed with recent DT wheels that we’ve built up. We’ve used DT spokes for as long as I can remember! Happy to quote for wheelbuilds too :)
info@18bikes.co.uk but we’re closed Weds/Thurs for a funeral and then trade show.
To be fair mister poddy, I used to keep 27.2/30.9/31.6 and remember taking all of them to Peaty’s Bike Bonanza, where there was still very little interest. Reality is, we rarely sell a seatpost that’s not on a complete bike/bike build. For those few occasions, it’s a dropper.
