Yesterday at the end of my ride I had to pour the water out of my Five Ten Goretex boots, today’s ride finished with a cider in the pub beer garden😎 Got to love the UK summertime!

I find it much easier to ignore the PSAs now they’re all in one thread!

I’m sure I’ve missed out on stuff that I genuinely needed but overall I’ve probably saved some money🤣

Sun came out for a bit last night so I went for a short ride, lovely and quiet out.

I’ve also have a Rab Vital for what the OP describes. It does the job but I run hot and like to push my sleeves up, the Vital cuffs are a bit too tight to do this.

I’m only 5’9″,  I bought a large Ripmo AF based on the geometry numbers and I’m quite happy with it. I think a medium would have been too small.

Really good weekend and perfect weather as always! I rode very badly last year but I was back to my usual mid-pack performance coming in 75th out of 163 in grand vets🤣

Heavy rain tomorrow, showers Thurs. Think the sections out in the open will be dry but under the trees it’s going to wet still.

Big thanks to all involved, very well organised, excellent marshalling and signage.

I did it back in 2016 and had forgotten just how hard the route is! That first cobbled climb is brutal😱

Swapped wheels over, indexed the gears, shimmed my slipping seatpost with a bit of beer can and put on my new shoes for a sunset shakedown ride.

What’s incorrect about the phrase “illegally riding a footpath”

You’re not going to be arrested by the police and prosecuted for riding a bike in a footpath. It’s trespass though, which is a civil offence, the landowner can ask you to leave but that’s about it.

IANAL though but I seem to remember you were or are cynic-al, so maybe I have misunderstood the rules.

It’s not “illegal” to ride a footpath. It’s lazy reporting.

What do we think about the phrase “illegally riding down a historic footpath” in the 2nd link?

I am old, have full no claims, no points and mine is the best part of £500, which I suspect is to do with having a BD postcode.

“I’m surprised that nobody has said “probably Surron riders””

No mention of balaclavas in the description so unlikely to be Surron riders.

Listened to the PB podcast this morning and was inspired to spend all of 2 mins coming up with a team. So I’m in.

Is there any way to watch the action for free this year? Failing that what’s the cheapest subscription option?
