fleetwood mac is your most recent and played playlist

I have some videos I’ve made that I’ve put on You Tube of local roundabouts which I show my students before we drive them. Showing one girl, I went into my You Tube history to get the video loaded and it was full of Fleetwood Mac from my Turbo session the night before.

Showing another student the controls of the car and I turned the radio on and it’s in Absolute 80’s or ” old man FM ” as my student called it.

That you’re staggered that people born this century are driving now.

I was going to put this as I realised this year whilst checking students provisional licences that I am getting old.

Saying things like ” wow, 2000 feels just like yesterday ” just gets a look of the student as if to say ” shut up ” :D

I’ve upgrade the wheels on the road bike so I use the original wheel for the turbo so I can get away with having 2 wheels.

Think I will get one of those Halfords once as, like I said, I don’t use it much just for a quick blast after work or when it’s really throwing it down.

9/11 I was working in a car sales place and Tuesday was my half day as I worked weekends. Came out of work, which was next door to home and Mum was talking to a neighbour who had been to America on holiday about what was happening in New York.

I went in the house turned the TV on and saw the second plane hit.

Diana We had a card meter for the electric and it was running out so had to go to a petrol station to get some credit. The radio was playing instrumental music which was strange and the DJ came on and said what had happened over night in Paris.

    Umbrage

Our local traffic police tweeted out some drivers had suffered umbrage from other motorists.

The company I freelance to train HGV drivers on bikes on a regular basis.

I’ve never delivered a course as we have an ex traffic cop doing it, but it’s always positive feedback.

It’s called safe urban driving I think

I was with the RAC for years and had good service when needed it but had a major fall out with then after they refused to come out to me as I use my car for my job.

Gone to the AA who will cover me for work as well. It’s about £15 per month, covers car, van, onward travel, my mum is on the policy as well. Home start, relay, etc.

Used them a couple of months ago and the guy spent ages with the car going through everything.

In that case, I’m guessing you will have got the full term upto the end of the policy.

Like you said in your OP, it’s best to call them as it will all be in the small print.

Is it possible to swop the insurance on the car you are using so you are the main driver ? Just thinking it may be cheaper than having to buy a banger if the insurance on the car you are using is nearly due for renewing ?

Did you cancel the insurance when the car was scrapped and if so, did you get a pro rata refund or was it in monthly Direct Debit ?

It is normally 2 years before the NCB cancels.

Lad round the corner from had same situation and had a crappy Fiesta or Corsa, can’t remember exactly, sat outside his house just so he could keep his NCB

I’ve just signed up. I reckoned it’s worth a punt as I normally buy a couple of scratchcards a week and get no luck on them so I’m switching to this.

The fact there are only 2 neighbours in it is a bonus :D

I saw a group ( herd !?!? ) of about 5-6 walking down the hard shoulder and grass verge of the M61 near the services a few years ago.

Thought I was seeing things so I went back and there they were. There was a Highways Agency traffic officer on the services so I told him and they put speed restriction on till the deer went.

The Highways guy said it was very common round here he had seen them run from one side of the Motorway, jump the centre barrier then cross the other carriageway

Who was it a few Christmas ago who got some kind of skintight jumpsuit type thing bought for them ?

They were persuaded to post a picture of them wearing it and Jamie photoshopped it into another picture with a jar of Vaseline and a glove on the table

Simmy, do you not think he might have realised how poor his manoeuvre was and was apologising?

Stumpy has wrote my reply for me

As far as I’m concerned, the driver may as well have stuck 2 fingers up.

Anyone else had another Driver push their way in then put the hazards on to say thanks ?

Had it earlier on the M60, I was outside lane and I could see this guy was going to barge over as I’d committed the ultimate sin of leaving more than a Rizla paper gap between me and the car in front.

He came in so I dropped back a bit more, I didn’t react at all, then he puts his hazards on and hand up as to say Thanks. This annoyed me more than if he had just barged his way in.

I’m not sure if I have read it correct about your set up but I’m presuming you have a space in the centre of the van behind the rear seats so how’s about a foldable cage that will fit relatively snugly in that area ?

It can be secured to the back of the rear seats. I’ve a Lab and he travels in my Vivaro in his foldable crate which is secured to the frame behind the drivers seat. It’s a big crate but folds up so its only about 100mm thick so it easy to store when I need the Van space.

A plastic cage will just be a PITA to store.

DVSA even have fully battenberged up motorbikes now, I don’t know if they just use them for Motorbike Driving ( riding ) Tests or enforcement as well.

Think the stopping powers are around the same as Highways England Traffic Officers. I’ve seen the DVSA Ford Galaxy’s waiting to pull the LGV’s into the weighbridge near M6 junction 29

They normally just go in front of the LGV with ” FOLLOW ME ” on the rear matrix board.

I’ve a Litium 3 from a couple of years ago, the bright green one. Got a Toppeak supertourist rack on it, SKS full guards

It’s now my go-to bike as most of my riding is road or gentle off road and it can handle it,

Not too sure about specs of bikes at the moment but, at the time, it was best spec for the money. Being lazy, I got Evans to price match the SKS mudguards with cheapest I could find online and they fitted them free for me when they were building the bike up.

Had a snapped spoke back in the summer and the lad in my local branch fitted another free of charge. Not sure if he was being nice or if it was because id obviously bought the bike there as is an exclusive brand but I offered to pay and he said no.

Mix of Wigan / Bolton / manc, depending on where I’ve spent most time.

Those towns are within 20 miles af each other but the accents really differ.

I went out with a girl from Australia 10 years ago when she was working over here and I developed an Aussie twang….

Got some waterproof sock, neck warmer and another pair of winter gloves. Just in case the other 3 pairs I’ve got fail. Well they are too cheap not to.

OP, were you moving or had you just engaged reverse ?

If you not sure if she was moving or not, if you wasn’t that will be important as she has hit you whilst you was stopped.

Edit – just re read you were moving so I’d say 50/50.

When she had calmed down how about seeing if she will just get hers fixed and you sort yours out ?

A guy I know has a Yaris that has at least 335,000 miles on it. I say at least, as that’s what it had last year on its MOT
    ( stalker  )

My car has been to a main dealer once for a recall where they had to replace a module that was likely to burst into flames.

The lady on service reception walked around the car with me to note any dents etc. As we were walking around, she noted how tidy it is. ” not bad for 105,000 miles ” I replied. She didn’t believe it had that many miles on such a young car so I just said ” aye, it’s still running coz it’s never been here before I have it serviced properly ”

Needless to say I don’t like main dealers.

My mates Dad used to work with Dave Spikey at Bolton hospital. I’ve also seen him in the vets.

I remember Peter Kay stacking the freezers in Netto in the late 90’s. At the time, he was working there and doing the comedy clubs at night.

    Phoenix nights was brilliant.

Can stand Paddy McGuinness though. Don’t know why but his voice grates on me.

I know millions were sold, but an H reg Mk 5 Escort.

It just felt crap. It was pale blue and had blue plastic interior. Had the CVH engine which was rough but reiiable but the gearbox went and seized solid, the steering never gave much feedback and had the turning circle of the queen Mary but the worst part was the brakes were awful.

As it was coming to the end of my time with it, the brakes decided they would start locking up the rear before the front wheels
