In my experience they are hopeless.

The leasing company used to use them for servicing and they only dropped the oil and left the car stood around whilst charging them full whack.

The leasing company now do mobile servicing and, on one car, I complained to the mechanic that it was freezing in the car and it turned out Halfords had charged for new Pollen Filter twice and never replaced it…….

I first became aware of this vehicle last week when an advert came on the TV when I was at my Mates.

My reaction was erm OK its another weird Citreon, my Mate said ” WTF, it’s got a Dairy Milk bar stuck on the Doors ” 😀

I pay £275 for the Fiesta per month for that I get 30k mileage allowance, fully serviced and tyres.

For me it works but they always find some damage when they go back and charge for it.

Aye I know what you are saying.

At work, I never judge a book by its cover I’m just being the opposite with this.

Think I may find a way of pulling in and chatting to him and ask him a few questions as an interested fellow MTBer 😀

does anyone use the Vac4Life – £99 lifetime vaccinations thing – i don;t get how they run this so cheap??

My older Lab has this cover as my Mate bought it when he owned him and, despite me using another vets now, I still have his boosters done at the original place.

I think they run it as a loss leader and try to flog Dentals, Flea Treatment etc when you go for the booster.

It was always a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4×4 but recently its a Focus RS as that’s more achievable due to them being newer.

A Guy who’s a Mate of a Mate has Ferraris, Bentleys etc and they do nothing for Me, I’m a Chav at heart 😳 😉

We’ll its raining hard now in Bolton.

The Trails have been ace over the past few Days. I’ve only done a few 8 mile loops as I’ve been busy but I’ve used the time to get some cheeky trails in that are muddied upto the axles in Winter.

Let’s see what effect this Rain makes in the Morning.

I think that the photographer guy was a bloke who’s car I see parked up and he classes himself as a Motorsport photographer – sums it up really.

Too many clowns up there to even think about going at the weekend, the weeks not too bad during the daytime.

    Adrian Flux do this.

They quoted me for the Van and, when I came to insure it, it went up about £200.

Apparently they are ” live ” quotes. To me all insurance companies are thieves in suits.

I still insured with Adrian Flux as they were still the cheapest but its naughty.

Too much meat in the banger.
I had that issue so had to have my pencil sharpened.
Currently considering my options with the pencil sharper, and at 34, it’s kind of daunting!

    Same here 🙁

To be honest I didn’t know anything was wrong till recently, that’s what you get for staying with one partner for 20 years, and its kind of daunting thinking about it as everything is in full working order, it just doesn’t look right.

Also check the status of the insurance should the car fail and you want to drive it home for repairs.

I had a car that I was doing up and, when I asked the insurance about being insured for a prebooked MOT, they said fine as long as it passes. I thought they were taking the mick but they insisted it could be driven there but couldn’t leave under its own steam without a valid MOT.

Apparently its because an MOT fail means its not roadworthy. That’s not to say its roadworthy on the way there when they allowed it to be insured……

I just remembered another issue when I sent the wing.

I live across the road from a Industrial Estate that has a Hermes depot the size of a small housing estate and they won’t accept parcels at the depot.

Ended up taking it to the corner shop, the same one all the Hermes employees use on their way to work…….

    Stupid system.

I hit a pedestrian on a shared use (no cars) road a couple of years ago. She was in front of me, I called to say I was passing on her left and she stepped to her left. She did a bit of a tango

I’m a Driving Instructor and the amount of Students I teach who don’t know Left from Right is astonishing.

At the moment, I’d say half of my Students I have to point the direction for as well as saying it.

I’ve sent a few bits recently and they all got there but one, which was a Car Wing in a Bike Box ended up stuck at our local depot for 2 weeks.

I don’t know what happened as I just kept tracking it online and it didn’t move, but the buyer didn’t contact me so I’m guessing there was an issue with his side as he had paid for the delivery, all I did was print off the label he E Mailed me and dropped it off at the local shop.

Like has been said, they are spot on.

They do get there bang on time. I had a delivery due and, typically, it was due to arrive on the 1 hour slot that I was at work that Day ( work was quiet at the time ) and it was easy to rearrange online.

I went to the finish today and it was really good.

Sweetspot have really got things running really sweet and the facilities whilst waiting for the riders were good. The finish was really fast, but I’ve never sat at the finish before so it’s probably a standard speed.

I went to the Buses after, Cav came back and had had an issue with his bike and went straight into the Bus so I went to the Deathstar where Wiggo was cooling down. Bernie Eisel came and and then Swifty and they all came out and I got signed autographs off them and Sir Dave.

The Garmin Sharp bus misjudged a gap when exiting the Car Park and smashed the bumper off an X5 Police Car 😯 the AA guys were Cable Tying it back together……

I’ve watched the video a few times and yeah the bike was going way too fast but that driver simply didn’t see him properly.

I don’t like motorbikes but it seems the silver car he overtook had moved a bit to the nearside and he actually waved a thank you to it about 2 seconds before impact with the Clio so I’m just thinking he was concentrating on that and not the junction.

The video didn’t bother me, but the links posted earlier in this thread which show the Clio with no front end on shocked me that a motorbike and rider could do that much damage. If the bike had been slower, he would have been able to brake or he would have gone behind the Clio.

…plus they have THE WORST self checkout machines. Don’t even take £2 coins FFS.

Well my Friend works in Morrisons and they actually do take the £2 coin, it’s just the size of them fills the coin box up too fast so they put a note on saying they don’t accept them.

That’s not a joke, my Friend works on them checkouts. Unbelievable.

They are the worst checkouts ever.

The motorbike outriders are great to watch. Get near a junction and watch them intimidate the dumbass motorist who thinks he should ignore the closure

A great example here from a couple of years ago 😀

Like has been said, it’s normally 15 – 20 mins before the riders that they close the roads. The Police and Escort Group use a ” caterpillar ” method at junctions, unless they are crossing Dual Carriageways where they will just block the lot off.

    Example here

I rode the Liverpool Stage yesterday and its a neat little circuit that should hold up for a sprint finish.

I just went in and they were on the shelf – I didn’t reserve online.

Like I said, they are not online so I don’t know if they are available in all branches, but I’ve seen them in 2 here in the North West.

Used our Henry yesterday to Vacuum the Rear Seats of my Mums Car which were covered in Labrador Hair and couldn’t believe how easy and effective it was at cleaning.

Even cleaning the School car, which gets filthy, is easy and it will lift the Carpets in the House if they are not fastened down properly.

Lane hoggers are among the worst driving morons out there.
Not quite as bad as the slow middle lane hoggers who magically speed up as you overtake, then overtake you as soon as you pull back in and then slow down in front of you.

Or the ones who refuse to go in lane 3.

In the van, I sit at 55 – 60 mph, any faster and I use loads of fuel and its so noisy its unbearable.

So say there is a vehicle in front of Me whilst I’m in lane 1 and I’m catching up to it so I’m planning to move to lane 2 to pass. Lane 2 has a vehicle travelling at same speed as Me overtaking the vehicle I’m planning to overtake.

Dolly daydream comes flying up lane 2, slows behind the vehicle which is overtaking and sits at the side of Me so I can’t pull out instead of them maintaining speed and moving into lane 3.

Then, when the vehicle has completed its overtake, dolly daydream then floors it staying in Lane 2 until they catch upto another vehicle then they start all over again.

Just move to lane 3 and keep your speed…….

The mileage seems low for an hire car, they are probably not hiring that many out because 3 years seems a long time to keep a hire car.

The lease cars I use for the Driving School are kept for 3 years then sold on. I don’t keep them more than 18 months as you can tell they are getting tired as no matter what you tell the Students, they will always over rev, slip the clutch, catch a kerb etc.

    I wouldn’t buy one…….

    No eyelets at all ?

I’ve a hack bike that has the eyelets near the rear wheel and I bought some clamps that fasten around the seat tube.

Those may be an option of you have eyelets near the wheels.

The other day I took the van into the garage as it needed some welding on the rear crossmember.

The mechanic put it on the ramp and we looked underneath. We then agreed on a price and he went to check his diary to book it in so we went to his office and arranged the day.

As I was thanking him, I started walking out with a cheery ” no probs mate, cheers for that, see you Thursday ” when he had to point out to me that it was my van still up in the air on the ramp 😳

I’ve got some Michelin Pro 4 Grip on mine and they seem really good.

I had original Decathlon tyres on and came off mid roundabout so I’ve been more careful since even with the Pro 4”s on but they definitely feel grippy.

deviants post sounds like it was written about me.

I’ve grown to not care if someone has something better than me, if someone earns more than me.

I work for myself, charge my students a reasonable fee and run the business the way it works for me. Other people in the same line of work are often going on ” Simmy, charge more, bill em if they cancel ” well what I do works for me so I’m not changing.

One guy I know is obsessed with money and I’ve never met a more miserable, angry, frustrated person and he does the same job as me.

Yeah I do care about the people who care about me and I’ve only one real friend, but worrying about other people doesn’t interest me at all.

I’ve not always been this way and I have bad days were I feel really anxious, but that’s just human nature. I’m not religious, but we have these feelings as human beings and learning to understand them is a great help.

That should not read as being callous, but getting an understanding of emotions / feelings can help you manage them,

Good luck OP, there are brighter days out there.

There’s regular fly tipping spots round my local trails just outside Bolton, they have been like that for years.

Just inside neighbouring Wigan councils area on one of my regular rides, they have put a big gate up and it’s locked permently. They had a massive problem in that location and tried CCTV etc but they just came along on false plates and couldn’t be traced.

The gate is a bit of a PITA for the 2 houses on that back road, but at least they can get in and out now without coming round the bend and crashing into a dumped Fridge / Sofa.

    Tracker boxes all the way.

Teenagers should expect circa £2000 for insurance, which CAN go up when she passes and is not supervised.

I agree that all insurances are rip offs. Has anyone else heard of ” area excess ” ?

When I insured the Van, the cheapest quote had an extra £100 area excess. The Broker, Adrian Flux, said it was because the company they were quoting from must have had a lot of claims in my area.

The only thing I can think of the lots of claims must be the Roundabout near me that had nearly 100 ” crash for cash ” claims in a 18 month period. The guy at Adrian Flux asked me ” are you sure its that ” so I told him, put it this way, ITV sent a film crew out and did a feature on it for Granada Reports.

Yeah the Vets stuff is more powerful than stuff from the Pets Shop or Supermarket hence they have to check the Animal over to make sure they are healthy enough to take or have flea stuff etc on them.

Some of the stuff from other sources are just not as good so can work out false economy.
