Cotic Jeht Gen 2: First Looks (No Feels)

simmyFree Member
Depends on the Leasing company.
I was with one and they have now gone bust. At first they were fine about little scratches etc but, presumably as the money was running out, they got really picky.
As they were closing down, I put a stupidly low offer in for the car which they accepted so I don’t have to worry about condition now as I’m intending to run it into the ground.
simmyFree MemberSeems Cav was looking down then went straight into the Focus. God knows what he was looking at but he smacked his head on the wheel of that Quasqui in front.
There are a few comments on other websites saying the Tour is unsafe due to parked cars but those cars were parked fine. More of a concern has been the big gaps between the lead group and the peloton which haven’t been covered by the Police or Escort group.
On Mondays stage, at least 2 cars turned into the closure due to the big gaps as the motorists must have thought the race had come through. These videos have been posted on You Tube.
simmyFree MemberOn a Rivington night ride a couple of summers back, we were doing the cheeky from near the top of wilderswood upto the mast road.
Just over the gate, there is a wall with a kinda door opening and a man and women stood there like statues just looking out towards the pike. Absolutely **** myself as it was unexpected and they were completely still.
Another night ride climbing upto pigeon tower from the back of the school we heard the sound of a kids playground. It was about 11.30 pm and both my mate and I heard it. I was slightly ahead of him and thought I was going mad so I waited and when he caught up he just said ” yep I can hear it just get **** ing pedalling.
Heading back to Bolton one night along the middle brook trail there was a witch walking along and it wasn’t Halloween.
simmyFree MemberOn the back of my van, I’ve a sticker of a Turtle with ” moving as fast as I can ” quite appropriate for a 60 bhp 14 year old rust bucket. It does get some laughs occasionally.
A guy down the road from me has a T5 camper with ” adventure before dementia ” across the rear bumper.
simmyFree MemberMiserable so and so’s.
I went to Monday’s stage, parked the Van a few miles away from the start then Cycled into Clitheroe. My intentions were to leave about 15 mins before the start to get back to the Van before the Riders came through.
Misjudged so only got away 5 Mins before the start so had the benifit of a rolling road closure 😀 Everyone on the route was cheering me on , having a laugh saying things like ” go on you’re winning ” etc, was good fun and good banter.
simmyFree MemberMy RAC renewal came through this Morning, £251 for Roadside, Recovery and at Home and Mum is Additional member as well.
That just takes the Mick.
So I went on the AA website, £159 as a new member, RAC website, £165 for same cover.
Rang the RAC told them I’m leaving and they reduced it to £170. I’m happy with that as I’ve got Black Card cover so get discounts on other things but they just hope members will just not bother and keep paying £251.
simmyFree MemberMain MTB
Old School MTB
MTB in bits
Road Bike
Hybrid
Pub / lock up in town and not care about bikeStill fancy a few more.
simmyFree MemberDefinitely consider getting 2 as you can nip home to let them out and find guilty faces like this
As you can see, there are 2 beds but they always jump into 1
Inspire me, what’s yer dog called?
Just make sure it’s something you can shout and not feel like a bellend“TICKLES! TICKLES GET BACK HERE!”
Yeah, my yellow Lab is called Echo and I often have people saying ” Oh you’ve called him the right name ” when he doesn’t listen to me…….
simmyFree MemberAnything done by Taio Cruz.
Crazy Frog, Fast Food Rockers, Babycakes etc are just mickey takes and they know it. The disturbing ones are the ” singers ” who take themselves serious but are, in reality, rubbish.
simmyFree MemberRIP Bacon.
My eldest is about 15 now and he is really grey but still running about sometimes, eating like a horse and being cheeky but I’m dreading anything happening.
I’ve a Cat who is nearly 16 and he’s still a miserable so and so but I love him. My other Cat died a couple of years ago and she was only about 5. She was a absolute sweetheart, used to follow Me round the House, into the Street but never left the Pavement and cuddled up to Me like the Dogs do. Just found Her dead one morning 🙁
simmyFree MemberYeah, you are looking at about 15,000 miles just commuting without any use outside of that.
Some of these £129 per month deals on fiestas etc only allow 5,000 miles per year with additional miles about 9 p per mile…….
Maths is my weak point, but that’s around £900 ???
simmyFree MemberPersonally, I would go Bangernomics.
Look for something without DPF, Dual mass flywheel etc. Just make sure timing belts etc are upto date.
Be careful if you get a Van as, if you get a years No Claims, it may not be transferable to a Car in the future.
simmyFree MemberFull Week off to follow the Tour around, better get my head in gear and plan some routes and accommodation.
simmyFree MemberDriving Instructor is my main job, well the busiest at the moment.
Fleet / Corporate Driver Trainer – no work about at the moment.
By the end of this Week, I will be a National Standards Cycle Instructor as well 😀 going to do this on a Freelance basis.
simmyFree MemberI’ve got pinhole phimosis but, luckily, nothing’s too big to try to force through and is in full working order.
My mate keeps telling me to get the C done but doc says it’s fine and the link to that thread has put me off…….
simmyFree MemberThis is one of my favourites, not a major problem as you just give way but it’s the only place I’ve ever seen anything like this
On the other hand this, in my opinion, is a cracker. It’s not too obvious from the photo but it’s a steep uphill. Like has been said, the cycle bit is dodgy due to squeezing through and having pedal strikes. The main issue i think is the fact the give way is not on the same side as the build out. OK it allows uphill traffic to keep going, but why not just put the build out on the same side as the give way ?
simmyFree MemberLee has confirmed on his Facebook page that he has had to stop.
His stomach issue was just not improving and he was finding it too much to even pedal let alone reach a record beating pace. He hadn’t eaten proper since Monday so I’m giving him big respect for making it that far on an empty stomach.
simmyFree Member50/50
Glad about that, would have been embarrassing if I got one wrong. Having said that, good job there was no questions about stopping distances 😳
simmyFree MemberI started getting what my GP reckons are Migranes after starting at the Gym.
Like as been said, I was drinking enough but not too much so I put it down to simply just doing too much. I was doing 3 x Cardio sessions per week, couple of 8-10 mile bike rides a week and a longer ride at weekend.
Knocking back the Gym to 2 sessions per week has sorted it out at the moment so will have to see how I get on.
simmyFree Member5:10’s with plastic flats with toe clips for me on the road bike.
I don’t like it that much to spend money attaching myself to the thing.
simmyFree MemberLee is in Edinburgh now so, I’m guessing, he will be at JOG Today.
Don’t know how that relates to Ben Rocketts record, but it’s some going. Lee has been having stomach problems as well according to his Facebook page.
simmyFree MemberLike Matt said, I’m sure I’ve heard about the Corsa racks seizing up if not used regular.
simmyFree MemberWe flagged a Traffic cop down and he helped it along with his crowbar around the back of its head.
I can’t help thinking that sounds dodgy. What’s a copper doing with a crowbar……aren’t they suppose to carry truncheons ?😀
It’s was years ago and I think they had crowbars to get trapped people out of cars before the fire and rescue service had such good equipment.
simmyFree MemberWhen I was a Kid, a Dog got knocked over near my house.
It’s a busy main road and had been hit with some force. Poor thing was mangled but still alive.
We flagged a Traffic cop down and he helped it along with his crowbar around the back of its head.
The cop would probably get slated these days and they wouldn’t do it now anyway I bet, but in terms of the Dog suffering, it would have suffered a lot longer waiting for a vet to arrive.
simmyFree Member4 years ago I was 103 kg now down to 83.
Now that is a gradual loss 😉
I’ve lost fat recent but have put on muscle due to joining the gym and doing High intensity training. It’s a killer but the cardio side makes a Huge difference on the bike.
It’s still hard work as I always seems to push myself on the bike but, last weekend, I climbed upto winter hill mast finding it hard work and I only realised how much quicker I am when I reached the mast a lot sooner than I anticipated.
simmyFree MemberI find that people just don’t have a clue that they are too close. OK, you get the arrogant type who just want to speed but, like has been said, most tailgaters just don’t realise they are too close.
I saw a woman this morning about 2 ft away from the car in front. That car turned off and she did the same to another car.
As a Driving Instructor, there are always things that the Students start doing or stop doing. Most at some point will try to tailgate and not allow 2 second or 4 second rule. When questioned as to why they are doing that when I’ve never taught them to do that the usual reply is ” oh me Mum drives that close…….”
simmyFree MemberMate had his works van broken into whilst his was working in a House on a council estate and all they took were his Jaffa cakes.
I once had an exhaust back box stolen.
simmyFree MemberV8 nah v10 diesel is the daddy.
My Mates got the 5.0 V10 Diesel. He was happy when the Diesel prices fell the other week……
simmyFree MemberI stopped having normal Coke when I wanted to lose weight so I’d knock the sugar on the head, now I can’t stand the normal stuff and I only have a Diet Coke every other week.
BTW, does anyone remember the clear Coke from the early 90’s ? Looked like Lemonade but was Coke.
simmyFree MemberCheers guys
I don’t get visual problems but do have sensitivity to light and, last week when it happened, I put myself in bed at lunchtime for an hour and felt better after.
simmyFree MemberMusic, into 80s stuff at the moment
Gym
Walking the Dogs
Messing with the VanOn my geeky side, old railways and watching bridges and new roads being built 😳 my mate takes the mick all the time out of me…
simmyFree MemberNo way.
I used to get a telling off if I didn’t nip back home every hour or so up until being about 14. Even then, the longer bike rides had to be pre-planned and family informed of where I was going.
simmyFree MemberI’ve never heard of Crossfit so I will have a look but firstly, if we are comparing prices, I’ve started going to a Gym that only does classes.
They are a couple of cardio sessions and a muscle one, 5 classes a day spread out over different aspects.
£49.99 per month, go to as many classes as you can handle and a one hour personal training session is included in that price. Diet plans etc and discounts at the health food shop are also included.
simmyFree MemberDunno how I feel about Froomey but, then again I felt like that about Wiggo till I had a chat with him at the tour of Britain and Brad a good laugh.
I would like to see Froomey race so, Sir Dave, get him in this years Tour of Britain line up. That Hartside summit will suit him.
simmyFree MemberRegarding the checkouts in Aldi, they have to open another checkout if they get 2 units beyond the end of the belt.
2 units is 2 lots of shopping. So one person shopping alone would be one unit, whereas a family of 4 with one lot of shopping would also be one unit so it doesn’t go off the number of persons waiting.
Think they have a system where they have one or two staff on tills with others out on the shopfloor as back up.
Also they have to get a certain amount of items through each checkout per hour. I used to secret shop there so I had to know how they worked.
simmyFree MemberJust arriving at the Test Centre for his Driving Test, one of my students took his jacket off claiming he was hot and I realised he was wearing a T Shirt with ” I’m with stupid ” written on it and a arrow pointing to his left.
He didn’t quite understand why I made him put his jacket back on……
simmyFree MemberI’ve known quite a few over the years.
A lad I’ve known 25 years now has always been the same, one better than anyone else. Recent ones are bought a Porsche for £5,000 so I arranged to see Him at the weekend to see this Porsche but, strangly he didn’t answer his phone and then came up with ” oh I sold that mate ”
CBA with him anymore
Another lad I knew reckoned he was a pursuit driver in the army, driving Imprezas etc between bases. ” 150 mph all way from catterick to brize norton ” or some other lies. .
simmyFree MemberWhere I grew up, now I’m 3 miles away, we had a guy who I knew murder his girlfriend.
Another young lad who I’d seen grow up got attacked by 2 lads, died and they got done for manslaughter.
( not linking the press reports as I knew these people and it’s depressing )
Where I am now, the bank has been done over loads of times and it’s like going into a tardis now when you wanna pay some money in as security is so tight. Apart from that, 2 cars nicked in the last couple of months out of our street and various scrotes trying car door handles etc.
