I’m in the same boat as I haven;’t been able to get an appointment in the last 2 years with my NHS dentist, and they’ve now removed me from their list because I haven’t been seen in two years!!

Too scared to call a private dentist due to the cost….

Why do people equate not wanting to have to put up with people’s poorly controlled dogs with mental illness?

I never said that. nothing of the sort.

The self righteous & self centred ranting, hatred/intolerance/vitriol to ANY subject that doesn’t align with their own view of the world… that is what I was referring to.

your’e going out of your way to pick fights on a cycling forum, and YOU have admitted you have “some pent up anger about this issue”. The level at which is manifesting is genuinely excessive. Also, FWIW, I could have written this reply to one of a hundred threads on here recently, it isn’t about dogs.

Yes, some dog owners shouldn’t have dogs. I think we can all agree on that?

But some of you really need to learn some tolerance, or seek help.

Mini logo complete 8″. Nothing else comes close. the trucks really are WAY better than anything else for comparable money. Properly good trucks until you get to independant/ace, but there a different kind of cost.

Also, padding. Lots of padding. Hips, knees, elbows, ankles, wrists, Melon.

I love snowdon, but have avoided like the plague for the last few years!!

As has been said, get the Sherpa from Llanberis – it works brilliantly and needs to be used more.

I’ve also stayed at Llyn Gwynant a lot; don’t underestimate how much it would add to a walk up snowdon if you walk from the campsite to Pen Y Pass. With kids it’ll add a minimum of… I dunno. but it’s longer than it looks – in length it’ll roughly double the length of the walk. For context, most people do Pyg/miners in around 6 hours, for me & the wife we can (walk) it in 3-3.5 including a rest at the top.

We’ve done some lovely circular walks from Llyn Gwynant – hint – cross the main road…

And, anecdotally, Mrs Fazzini swears that the new petrol E10 doesn’t last as long.

it doesn’t, your car will run something like 5-10% less efficient on it.

Winters Morning, saturday, 6.30 Am. There’s a hell of a headwind, and I’m doing maybe 3-4 MPH across a flat field, literally walking pace.  A Woman walking her dogs shouts at me from maybe 100m away, I roll over to her to check if she’s okay.

‘What you’re doing is dangerous and irresponsible! You’re going to hurt someone! you could kill a child!’

I literally had no retort, so laughed and carried on. She was the only person I saw in 20 miles.

I’ve done a T5 camper, and am into car audio – the car audio guys really go into this and their performance/cost winner is noico sheets from amazon, followed by rockwool insulation stuffed into every cavity.

The Noico stops the drumming/drone/resonance of the panels (aim for as much coverage as possible, but over 50% is next to pointless), the rockwool helps absorb noise.

With deading sheets, avoid ebay specials. decent brands taht don’t cost the earth are Noico, Dodomat and Silentcoat.

you’ll get the best gains from floor & wheelarches.

If you really want to quiet your van, look at mass loaded vinyl & foam.

See also ocicats, and I’m trying to think what the other domestic cat x spotty killing machine hybrids are called. I went to look at an ocicat somebody was keeping in a flat, and trying to give away. It was destroying approximately a sofa a day. I declined

Ocicats just look wild, but are 100% moggy. Savannahs are a domestic crossed with a Serval.

    Nar, not on Porpoise?

unless maybe hybridisation is how new species might occur?

It’s caused problems in classifying species – but no, they would be considered a hybrid of two species.

    simian

Firstly, ignore canis familiaris ‘breed’s as they’re unique in the whole animal kingdom in having teh widest range of phenotypes whilst technically still being the same species – blame millennia of domestication.

There are literally countless examples of viable chimeras that can can be crossed within the class mammalia, Horses/Donkeys/Zebras, Domestic cat/serval, Camelids, Bears.

As has been said, the genotypes will obviously need to be similar enough. The key is that the resultant offspring are rarely healthy or have naturally desirable characteristics. Typically infertile and flawed. The don’t exist in nature because; Evolution. That’s assuming the foetus survives to full term & births successfully.

Moreover, geographic isolation and behavioural/physical limitations typically prevent them from existing naturally or at all… can you see a tiger mating with Tiddles? Could Tiddles then give birth to the kits? It doesn’t mean a viable hybrid couldn’t *theoretically* exist.

Have you considered that you may be a Chimera yourself? Current thinking is that homo sapiens interbred with Neanderthals.

It probably depends on the complexity/strength of the prescription too. I’ve astigmatism in both eyes and my wife is quite short sighted. only oakley genuine lenses didn’t give strange distortions or other issues.

After a lot of experience with relensing oakleys and genunine oakleys (both me and the wife), I’d say go genuine. Some non-oakley lenses were *okay* but the genuine ones are on another level. Not worth the saving IMO.

We’ve had working cockers before, and have a 6 month old now. The exercise you’ve described is NOTHING for a fit and healthy cocker.

Our last boy (died of a nasal tumour) was running 10K a couple of times a week at 13 years old, up to the week before the cancer took him and had been for 8 years before that.

He actually was on yumove from the age of 9 – good stuff, but no need for young dog.

but it might be moot if the insurance want to write it off and won’t let me keep the car….

They don’t have that right. Google ‘cash in lieu of repair’.

Dogs aren’t humans. Nobody should have to trade their own safety for the safety of a pet.

My dog is more tolerant than you, so I claim his right to be ‘human’ over yours.

I bought a car that had M4 LSR already on it.

Didn’t bother me until someone pointed out that whenever they saw it they read ‘Mr Loser’.

the pulley mod is a smaller pulley on the nose of the supercharger, which means it spins faster, creating more pressure.

Look at ‘Cash in Lieu of repair’.

    It works if you can meet a number of conditions;

    1. the car is not structurally damaged

    2. you can source & fit replacement panels from a breaker OR get it repaired, for what they’re willing to offer

you need to be 100% on this as once you accept the cash you’re on your own.

    The positives

    1. You’ll be offered the maximum they’d be willing to pay for repair (around 70% of the market value of the car).

    2. It won’t be recorded as a write off.

    3. the car is never handed over to the insurance company, it’s all under your control.

I’ve done it once, and it was totally worth it IN MY CIRCUMSTANCES (low value but immaculate MX5, damaged wing, door and wing mirror)

That looks like a lot of damage so think carefully.

I had to go back and read your original post to see if you even slightly indicated a desire for a child down the line, which you didn’t despite multiple people chipping in to tell you not to have any. Shocker people, there are folk out there who neither want nor desire children. There are even people out there who can’t have children.

Just wanted to clear that up!

    Fair point.

If it was in response to my post, I was trying to make the point that people would be shocked if someone didn’t take mat/pat leave after having a child/adopting, but people often don’t for dogs which are a *similar kind* of commitment. We both took 2 weeks off work (the most we could) when our pup arrived.

FWIW, my wife and I have a dog, and will never have children.

You have a new puppy, but it doesn’t sound like either of you have taken any time off work for him? Would you not take any time off if you had a child? sorry to sound glib, but the two are comparable.

Dogs can be the most wonderful experience, but they are a huge lifestyle choice. However, ALL puppies are hard work. Some breeds are worse than others – terriers are right *up there*.

The first few weeks ARE hard, especially if you’ve never had a dog/puppy before. It does get better, but you are going to be living with a terror 50% of the time. after tehy’re a year old it generally gets easier.

Are you ready for walking in all weathers for at least an hour, every day?

Training him when he doesn’t want to be trained?

cleaning up after the next ‘dirty protest’?

We have a 20 week old Working Cocker Spaniel at the moment, but he’s not our first, and we love him but, Damn, puppies try your nerve. Puppies don’t ‘come easy’ to anyone, you’re going to have to work hard for this to work.

    Good luck.
