If there is one bike brand that I know inside out it’s Principia – and that ain’t one.

But £78.00 for a Trek OCLV isn’t bad either

At my Grandad’s funeral, they played a recording of him and his Navy mates singing ‘It’s a long way to Tipperary’

Recorded whilst on active duty in 1941, somewhere in the mid Atlantic. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

Me and 7 mates won £1.1M on the pools 11 years ago. We all used to be season ticket holders at West Ham and it was something we started to do in the pub before a home game. There were used to be 10 of us in the same syndicate for 5 years, but two pulled out at the start of the season.

ATB are renowned in the industry for providing an excellent warranty service. I’m sure you’ll be OK.

If not just tell everybody on here how unreasonable they have been and destroy their reputation

So you’re going to keep it then?

I’ve got the PCS-4 which is excellent. ChainReaction do them for about £200 which makes it a bit pricey but the clamp is excellent and the thing will last longer than me. It is more of a permanent stand though, the legs just pivot closed rather than fold up, so if portability is needed, look at the PCS-10

I happen to have a PCS-10 in the house at the moment as I’m keeping it for a friend to give to her husband for Christmas. Obviously I haven’t used it, but have put it together and I have to say it does look a quality piece of kit

Molly does ride a Pashley (the Princess)or at least she did until she was knocked off the bike and it was a write off…..you are an IT consultant -there’s a surprise.

Repack rider’s collection is easily the most exclusive and coolest on here and he’s by far the coolest rider.

    It is Charlie Kelly FFS!

    Anyway mine.

    Exclusive(ish)
Moots Rigormootis – I’d never seen another until I moved here!
Spot Brand Singlespeed – One of their first.
Principia Road Bike – Summer racer. Unique, built it up myself.

    Common as muck
Marin Mill Valley – It was a present, honest guv!
Focus Cayo – At those prices silly not to.
    Willier Escape – Winter trainer.

I’d say no it isn’t worth it and there is a lot of self affirmation going on here.

I bought a Moots 10 years ago but I cannot honestly say that it is noticeably ‘better’ that a good quality steel frame (my mates de Kerf for example, or even an old Tange Prestige frame I have)

Don’t get me wrong, a very nice frame and very well made. But ‘better’ no.

Uncle Fred – Funnily enough, had a pint in there tonight.

If you see someone at the top of the Val des Terres on a red Focus/blue Principia and out of breath, come and say hello.

Ploppants – Occupation Museum is still here. I’m sure they’d welcome your Grandad’s stuff

I live in Guernsey which is obviously a far superior island in every way imaginable

MTBing is virtually non existent unless you get into the race scene and then it’s OK, but only OK. Road biking on the other hand is great, including my daily commute along the coast to work. I rarely use my car now and in fact am thinking of selling it and going car free. I imagine Jersey would be pretty much the same, quiet roads, great views and 35mph speed limits.

One great advantage of living in the Channel Islands…well log onto CRC and change the settings/currency to UK Channel Islands.

Do you see what happens there?

Prefer a trainer myself, but rollers are good too.

I have fluid trainer and it feels very realistic. I’ve noticed the improvement more in my fitness than when I was using rollers.

She’s told friends that she is determined to live until Dave and George have sorted out the economy. Apparently she wants her State Funeral to be a proper affair with all the trimmings………she don’t want no penny-pinching half-hearted effort.

State funeral? When she dies give me the money and I’ll find 3 million people, give them a shovel each and we’ll dig a hole so deep that we can hand her over to Satan himself.

    What coogan said.

I overtook somebody today, not racing, I just happened to be riding at a quicker pace. After half a mile or so I notice he’s on my wheel and clearly going for it, so I sit up and slow down to let him pass. He doesn’t. So I brake to less than 10mph. He still doesn’t pass. This continues for another half mile or so. When we get to a hill I have to speed up or fall off. As I pull away, he yells w@nkar at me!

    WTF is that all about?

I miss the setting up a story and then dragging it out into a massive troll.

My favourite ever, was joining a Thailand dating website and pozing on their as a female. With some clever thinking I found several people from the forums on there and started chatting them up.

Over on the forum, using a freshly setup account, I started talking about this amazing girl I had met on this dating site, luring in the unsuspecting victims into discussing the amazing girl they had met on there as well (me)

Oh how we laughed at the end when I slipped up and went too far giving the game away. How I chuckled at the death threats and threats to my livelhood that they had been tricked into making fools of themselves.

Seriously? I’m guessing there is no Mrs Quirrel.

I like the road forum, though there are lots of ‘what road bike for a £1000’ posts there too.

The workshop sections are useful. The pro race cycling section is very entertaining, the regular posters do actually seem to know what they’re talking about and I’ve never heard of the mods bitching about their magazine readers on twitter.

Are you sure disc brakes is a good idea.

I was twice warned off adding a disc brake tab to a Ti Kona Hei Hei. Something to do with twisting forces being too powerful for the frame….can’t remember exactly as it was a while ago but do remember being told, if it hasn’t got a DB tab, it wasn’t designed for disc brakes
