There’s the odd stream running down the middle of a decent or two, but we had a great time up there today. Go for it.

    Welcome to Somerset!!

Ive been exploring in Rowberrow for over a year now, and am still finding some amazing trails. All over the Mendips there are great xc routes, you could easily link a few together and get a 30mile plus ride without a problem.
Thats before we get started on the Quantocks!!

I ride a hardtail, but sometimes wish i had a full sus for most of the trails in Rowberrow, and Triscombe on the Quantocks. For all the other xc, i find my hardtail well suited.

Get out and explore, you’ll have a great time.

Or of course, theres QNAP. It neednt be hard setting it up, you might not use all the features, buts its nice to have them!!

Ive just replaced the horrible Minisun LED’s in my kitchen with the B and Q Diall version. A much better colour, but not a very wide beam. Happy though.

Excellent. I’ll reassure my wife then. haven’t quite got round to mentioning it yet as it’s her birthday. Don’t see why she should get all the presents.

Sharki, totally dont expect you to sort this. Good point about the wildlife. I may attack it with a pruning saw in the hope that i can remove enough side branches to roll it out the way. I cant see a divert appearing on this section as its a drop off to one side and a gurt climb up the other!!
Its such a good piece of singletrack that it’ll be worth clearing though, especially as slaughterhouse scares me with a huge drop to one side!!

    The left side singletrack descent.
Its an absolute mother of a tree too, right on the track. . Its gonna need major work to get it gone, so im a little worries that it’ll be there for ages.
On the plus side its made me explore slaughterhouse combe, which is bonkers.

Sorry to sound dim, but does this mean that its been flattened / levelled, or is it just a status upgrade for legal reasons?

I just head straight up and over the hill next to the quarry. Its a fun descent down onto shipham road!! Itll be great if the drove has been upgraded though.

Was my first time at an event like this. I’m still knackered after a good feed and sleep! I was surprised with the amount of uphill pushing involved, and probably did a fair bit of downhill on my backside too!
Good fun but really muddy which made it tricky to get some good speed on the steep downhill runs.
Sharki… If you got any pics of 168 or 169 I’d really appreciate it mate.
I thought the atmosphere was great, well done to the Marshalls.

Did a great loop from cheddar up to rowberrow over to crooks peak and back through axbridge on Wednesday. Everywhere was really dry, although we did miss out beacon batch, as it’s always wet up there. The odd puddle in rowberrow, but it certainly didn’t stop the fun!

Check YouTube for vids of rowberrow, crooks peak and cheddar raceway bridleway, a favourite of mine!

Just back from a great ride around the gorge. No traffic as the road is still closed. The ground is frozen solid and theres still a river flowing down black rock, though where the water is coming from I dont know! Velvet Bottom was great as always, and the run down into cheddar was really fast. Highly recommended, go for it.
