I’m a Somerset based garden designer and builder. I charge £70 for a one hour site visit, £700 for a 3d render based upon a budget given to me by the client. I don’t bother with budgets under £30k and anything over £80k becomes too large for me to build with my one labourer.
Being the guy that designs and builds/plants the project works really well for me, we’re booked up all year and designing builds for next year now. I love my job!
I would imagine costs are far more in the south East though! Good luck.

What I wouldn’t do to be in your position. Go for it, it’s the best television ever made, in my humble opinion. I’m biased though, I’ve watched it 4 times!

We stayed in an all inclusive at Cala Tarida. It was a brilliant holiday, the kids loved it, so highly recommended. The cost of the same holiday is £1000 more expensive this year, so we’re off to Thailand instead!!

Just purchased and am very impressed with our new Outwell Drummond 7. The steel poles are essential if it’s windy and it’s huge inside, plenty of room for the 4 of us.
Got it for £580 delivered from Blacks when they had a 10% offer on.

Postcrete is essential, 63 posts isnt essential, its mental. If your decking is 1 ft above ground, then you only need 1ft below ground. You can therefore get 3 posts from just 1 6ft post. Please dont buy 63 posts!
Also, a bag and a half of postcrete per post will be fine. B and Q is the cheapest place at £4.10 per bag.
By the way, i’m a landscaper, and i’ve just finished a deck!!
I reckon it should take 4 days (2 guys) if your having it nicely finished with picture rail edges, 3 otherwise.
The price is probably about right, there will be profit in there, but there’s nothing wrong with that!!

Just did it. You should too if your current job isn’t rewarding. I’m a Landscaper. I get to design and build the garden, have full control over every decision made, and can see the results at the end of the project. Its ace and i love it!

Ive planted a lot of griselinia hedges around the windy brean / berrow coastline of Somerset, and i know they do very well in those conditions, but expecting something to grow 4ft in 2 years and not be a conifer is pushing it! You could mix it with Viburnum which will give a great looking hedge.
    Good luck.

I enjoy mine. Im a self employed landscaper, own the business, have one guy working for me. Nice. I dont enjoy the periods of no work, waiting for the phone to ring etc, but they get less and less. I do worry about the future, and having enough money to retire / pay for the kids stuff / spend on bikes, but its all outweighed by the quality of life.
I learned early that we are only here for a short while, and could be gone in a instant, so why waste it doing something you hate.

I’ve had some great rides on the quantocks already this year, even discovering some new descents ,but tomorrow I’m gonna throw myself down some very sketchy triscombe and cockercombe downhill runs. Just for the hell of it.
After a nice walk with the wife and kids, just in case it’s my last!

I’m just back from the bike shop where a mate has just bought the Whyte T129s. I’m seriously impressed by it, looks like the dogs b*******. I’m not usually a fan of 29’ers, but Whyte have made a seriously playful bit of kit with the 129.
I’m gonna enjoy seeing my mate crash it now over the next few rides, if i can keep up!

Pellet boilers , log boilers log/pellet boilers, are all eligible for the commercial and domestic RHI, as long as the boiler is on the compliance register.

Silverbirchdan, sounds like the company that installed your system hasn’t got a clue what it’s on about…
Why can’t you have cavity wall insulation? If it’s because you don’t have cavities then your property should be exempt to that rule…

Little confused there by the way.

Oh and I work for a company that has installed 200 of the darn things! There are a lot of companies out there seriously cocking things up!

No, weve got cavities, but in order to qualify for RHI payments, we need cavity wall insulation, according to OFGEM. What we now need is a RICS registered chartered surveyor to confirm our cavities arent suitable before applying. A totla pain in the arse.
The company that installed the boiler were ace by the way!

Hi guys and gals, ive followed this thread avidly now for at least a couple of months. Ive just invested in a c and b seen handlebar light but am looking for a helmet mounted option. Should i just order another c and b seen or go for something like this.

My mcz red 24 pellet boilet is eligible for rhi payments, however we cant get them unless we have cavity wall insulation, which our house isnt suitable for. Bloody gutted.

Yeah, how mad was that transition! I loved stage 1, and stage 2 was a bit of a blast, but could have been kept to singletrack instead.

Yeah, i found that tough too. Got to the top of stage 4 with 3 seconds to spare!! Only afterwards did i find out they messed the timings up for the sport transitions. Still really enjoyed it, there was some pretty steep stuff included that i hadnt seen before, and i ride up there nearly once a week!
Nice one Carlos, see you next year.

I love my Trance 1. Had it for 4 months now, and loved every ride. I came from a Hartail mind, so thats probably why!. It goes uphill great, and is a right blast downhills. I cant do jumps like you though!
    Go for it i say.

Ive just bought a Trance 1. Coming from a 26″ hardtail, the Giant is amazing. I can honestly say i do notice the difference in the 650b wheels. Much more stability, my front wheel lifts off the ground less while climbimg now, though that could just be the new Geometry. Its loads faster as well.
A great bike, i can highly recommend it.

I’ll be spending it with the inlaws. Well, you know what they say, if you can’t spend it with friends spend it with family. No, nobody has ever, ever said that. :(
