Coals more than likely refering to the stones atop the sauna that are heated up rather the heat source. I’ve seen wood or electric heated saunas, doubtless there are others.

It would be difficult for Finland to re-enact their heroic defence let alone Ukraine. They were (relatively) fresh out of a civil war, had a population more in tune with countryside and faced an army purged of many capable officers by the political officers. Plus their leader, Mannerheim, was Russia trained pre communist uprising and their very own Churchill.

As for NATO membership it is an ongoing discussion for decades. Whilst a cold war policy of officially not pissing of the big neighbour (Finlandization) prevented membership for many years there is still a fine line being trodden between flexing all available rights of an independent country and not wanting to actively antagonise the bear.

I think the best thing that Ukraine can hope for is they can give Russia a bloody enough nose to get them to the negotiating table. Unlikely given speed of advance but perhaps they’re taking a tactic out of the Finnish playbook of getting your enemy to overextend their supply lines and encircling them (Motti).

I thought the cauli rice I’ve had was surprisingly good – wife and I have just gently sauted a grated cauli with a tablespoon of olive oil.

Every time I head Stansted way I see signs for the Green Man run by the Galvin Brothers. Don’t know if it’s too far for you but could be an option….

Have an outwell stonelake 7atc. Got it from Allweathers. They have stopped doing camping stuff by the way and now focus on outdoor wear.

Pros of the outwell:
Space (kids call it the mansion tent)
quality
polycotton (doesn’t get as hot as polyester tents)
outwell/allweathers aftercare

Cons
size and weight of packed down tent. Takes two bags and put my elbow out first year I used it!
price (even heavily reduced it was expensive).

I’ve loved camping with it. We had 13 people in for dinner on last night of camping in July. Felt really luxurious with all the window blinds open. My tent just missed out on magnetic zips – shame!

Solved! Everyone loves a good luck story!

Thanks all for the replies. With a combination of face timing my sparkie mate who dabbles in plumbing and him contacting his plumber we had zoned in on the pressure reducing valve Untitled by Simon Darney, on Flickr on the cold inlet. It contains a mesh filter which if partially blocked can prevent system pressure from being topped up.

I removed the plastic housing and started to clean the mesh filterUntitled by Simon Darney, on Flickr and with a bit of jimmying managed to remove the cartridge as well. It dropped a shed load of debris, the spring Untitled by Simon Darney, on Flickr, on Flickr” alt=”Spring” /> was completely worn in places and very mishapen and I couldn’t even get it back on when I had finished cleaning to buy me some time. This meant a fun night with no running hot or cold water or toilets except cold tap in utility. We survived though!

At first I though I was going to have to install/have installed an updated version of the pressure reducing valve which due to being smaller would have meant some unwelcome pipework adjustments however, after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I managed to confirm there was a replacement cartridge available and found one in stock 20 miles away! Refitted cartridge, got some silicone grease to help get housing back on and I was able to re-pressurise the system a treat (2.5 Bar); en-suite shower on top floor is like a bloody power shower now and toilet cisterns fill up in seconds!

Hopefully that might help someone in similar situation in the future!

Hi All,

Thanks for the tips and hints.

It affects supply to all water on that floor so I think it rules out the shower on it’s own. I think if I turn a first or ground floor tap on while shower not running I can notice it’s slower but it does flow.

There is a megaflow tank and it highlights operating pressure is 3bar – about 2 bar more than I am getting to it at the moment.

It can be either I think. Sometimes nothing comes out, sometimes a dribble until it gets going. I think it can be warm before it fully gets going.

For an alternative recommendation I have used Bullguard for many years. Doesn’t appear to slow things down unlike my experience with Norton/AVG. Reasonable price (i buy a new product each year and just provide the code as its cheaper than the renewal) and I’ve had good support for the one issue I had to contact tech support for. I’ve never used windows defender on it’s own.

FTFY 😉

That’s partly true. However a big problem in Chelmsford is the councils mismanagement of the roads. E.g. allowing the army and navy flyover to fall into disrepair forcing its closure with no replacement plan.

Also the public transport is quite expensive, for example the park and ride scheme is £5 for two adults two children. However you can park right in the centre on Parkway for £2.50 for two hours and it’s a lot more convenient as you don’t have to wait for a bus (which at peak times are very busy). And I don’t have to pay an extra £3.60(!!!) if granny wants to come along!

Not thinking Chelmsford is more deserving of attention over other settlements but I know it so I’ll throw my tuppence in. Another factor not isolated to Chelmsford is the constant need to fill in every green space or brownfield site with more houses, retirements homes and flats with no thought to the road network and no wider plan or ability to tackle congestion. The kind of fixes they propose like a bus gate on to the Army and Navy do nothing to reduce traffic and just shift it to other parts of the City and generate huge local opposition. They also opened a new Aldi on the Army and Navy which exacerbated issues.

It’s always worth contesting even if you are in wrong. I have done it twice successfully (1 x parked over line of marked bay and 1 x overstaying my welcome in a retail park). There are some good guides on moneysavingexpert forums which I used.

Good luck.

Previously had a Bosch built in and now a Siemens iQ700. Really happy with the Siemens, good performance, quiet and I love the fact there is a reservoir for liquid soap and conditioner that it uses to dose automatically. Saves a bit of faff.

Just updated on my iPhone 7 128GB.

Battery life takes a hit initially for 2 days or so. Something to do with the phone performing a more thorough indexing of all items for search. Actually checking my battery performance its at 75% at the moment so that might have exacerbated the issue for me.

There is some controversy on damp surveys and assessments (I may have been made aware of it on these very forums!). Here is my story.

We had similar but from the other end as the seller. Our buyers homebuyers report picked up woodworm and damp. Our estate agent referred them to a specialist damp and timber contracter to do a survey but really it was a quote for work totalling £1200. Aware of the issues with surveying for damp and having had no issues previously I remanind unconvinced so spent some money on a survey from these peopleAcademy Remedial Surveyors. Their survey convinced our buyers to not request any remedial work be done before completion, saving us a grand at a crucial time.

So what I would ask if I were you is if the specialist survey is being undertaken by a person/company with an business interest in finding work to do?

I have one and I think it’s a decent stand in for a Thule. Looks smart and the roof bar clamping system makes it easy to get on and off.

Only issue I had was of my own doing – it can be opened both sides and I managed to open both at same time which made it flimsy and tricky to get back together again!

I use mine on an S-Max – no idea if it will be too big on a Sportage sorry.

Dyson V8 here. Works well but two potential issues. I occasionally get static from the handle when using which can be annoying. Also struggles on thick carpet, the powered head stops rotating. Have to use on lower power mode. Battery was starting to go and even though was out of warranty by a few months sent a new battery free of charge.

I can’t speak fort the performance but when I looked into switching from EE there was a big variation into what features were offered like EU roaming, wifi calling, tethering etc. with the other virtual networks. Helped me chose to stay plus negotiated deal.

As BT own EE they are pretty much identical – I just replaced my BT one with an EE one and only difference was the front.

One option might be to set up a WiFi mesh. I used the BT Whole Home one and must say has been very good. It gets to the corners of the house that aren’t reached by the standard router and as all my devices are connected mesh and not the router I didn’t need to reconnect everything when I changed router!

They are a bit bigger than I expected though!

Smax has 3 full sized seats on the middle row, but only the outer 2 are isofix. The middle will take a child seat, but it is using the belt.

No isofix on the 2 seats in the boot.

Depends which year you have. I have the new S-Max (2015 onwards) and it has 3 Isofix position across the middle row, with the outer two additionally being iSize seating positions.

Correct the rear don’t have Isofix.

All in all great car for families – we’re due 3rd arrival in November but I seem to be speaking to more and more families who have one and they all rave about them!

So when I drive my German registered car to UK, I’d be well safe, being limited to doing 60kmh in a 60mph zone

My motor has a camera based speed recognition system but it seemingly recognised I was in France and adjusted the warnings accordingly – impressed me!

Thanks all. Looked at installation manual and alas no pop out rollers so lift and heave it is. Like the sound of the upturned carpet.

Thanks for the reminder about the lines and restrainers – I had them in mind as I have inspected the back – Mrs Sidney dropped a wipe down the back somehow so I scoped it out then.

Think the gap underneath isn’t high enough for a trolley jack so wondered if there was something with a lower profile people have used….
