Mine went awol for a while. Got it back and am loving riding again now, all thanks to a Pugsley.

The one I tried was a pre-production version. Complete bikes will be with us in January. We will have a demo bike.

The Krampus feels a lot more nimble in steering terms than my Pugsley, but not as easy to loft the front end but I’ve only given it a brief spin. I was surprised actually that the stays on the Krampus are shorter than the Pug, given that the wheels are about 32″ in diameter (I think – memory isn’t what it used to be).

Basically, whether you keep up with your mates will depend on a lot ore than just what bike you’re riding, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be riding the Pug all winter.

Rode one today. Not an extensive test by any means, but it was nice. Like a bike. Bars were too wide for me though.

I’d try one first too, we have a 16 and 18″ demo bike and I’m 5’9″ and prefer the 18.

We don’t do finance, but if it’s any use, we’re selling our 16″ Pugsley demo bike.

We’ve 16″ and 18″ Pugsley’s for demo – will be getting rid of the 16 soon though – if anyone want to try them for size back to back.

They’re cross head dome screws, not hex heads, but that doesn’t really matter. Try and get some matching split washers while you’re there.

Looks just like our place that.

We open by appointment only on Wednesdays. That’s because it’s my day off, but if someone needs help or wants to spunk a load of cash I will try accommodate 🙂

The brake on that Specialized isn’t fixed on very well is it? Someone had better tell the owner, it might fall off.

Go and and drive one first. We looked at them a few years ago and after a test drive discounted it as an everyday car on the grounds that they’re crap, slow, noisy, vague, uncomfortable, slow, crap, noisy, vague and crap.

Just bought a 21y.o. Defender 90 though as our ‘other’ car – it’s ace.

Get one, but then again don’t.

Mark metioned something about a Royal Mail cock up yesterday, so some folks might get theirs a bit later than others I guess.
We’ve got a stack in store, very nice it is too.

Please can you pass this message on to everyone who knew Nick:

A funeral service is to be held for Nick at Ribchester Parish Church of St Wilfrid on Monday 11th June at 10.30am prior to a committal at Preston Crematorium.

Nick wouldn’t believe that he had friends, he needs to know that he did. Please come if you can.

There is a special request to all the mountain bikers. Come on your bike and in your cycling kit. You will be riding behind Nick on his last journey. And because this is Nick, it will start with a sodding great hill.

And to all, no flowers. Nick was worried about the fate of all the local bike shops who are struggling in the current economic climate. So instead of flowers or donations, go and buy yourself new gloves, or socks, or a new helmet or whatever else you think you need but couldn’t justify buying. But get it from your local independent bike shop, not some high street chain.

A final request, the service at the crematorium will not be formal, we would just like a few of his friends to stand up and share any good memories that they had. If you would like to do so, then please let us know.

    Thanks
    Kirsty

P.S. the caterers are panicking about the amount of chilli and flapjack to put on, so an idea of numbers would be great 🙂

Ah, might be telling lies there. Looks like they’ve changed their policy and some of the places are appartments now. The bigger villas are private, but will cost you more.

Have a look at Meon Villas. Can’t recommend them highly enough. They have a few places in Tuscany, one of which has two bedrooms, sleep a max of four pople and more importanly they all have proper private pools.

La Colombera on the outskirts of Riva, self catering appartments, with a fabulous restuarant downstairs. Awesome place.

Bit far maybe, but I’ve been servicing King hubs for knocking on 15 years. See if you get any joy closer to home, but give us a shout if not.

Sideways_tim – I think it’s more a seat of your pants type show than a precision planned event anyway

    That’s why it appeals 🙂
I’m busy trying to get black paint to stick to MDF at present. Might be resorting to the tradesmans favourite, duct tape, shortly.

I’ll be exhibiting this year with a few bikes and some White Industries kit. Quite frankly I’m poohing myself, but in a good way. I think.

I know nothing, really. My guess is that PT will try to license the designs to someone else, as was always the plan originally.

Had a look in my old Thomson bits pot and sadly there’s none left. I might still turn one up in an odd place, will post here if so.

Brittany is great for cycling. Very quiet roads, respectful drivers, canalside paths, little hills – perfect for a family. Trailler would be a good idea.

We toured there when Judith was 8 months pregnant – tells you how hard it is 😉

Pretty much ditto what Charlie says. It boils my piss when I try to order something and it doesn’t arrive for weeks. The reason I’ll never be a massive Internet web store is that if we don’t have it on the shelf, you can’t order it from the site.

I really do need to figure out a way of knowing what people are trying to order though, so I can get a bit more of it next time. However, it’s much nicer to have a little discourse with a customer, either email, phone or over a coffee…

I have the same deal. My wife dropped her iphone 4 and it stopped being able to charge or connect to the PC. We sent it to the scheme’s repairer (foneclinic) and they very quickly repaired it. Sadly although it would now charge and connect properly, it ceased to function as a phone. Quick email and Foneclinic had it back and then decided it was not repairable and sent a new one out.

Can’t really fault the service, but if it still works, I’d say live with it.

Ooh, edited to add, excess was £22.50 iirc

The evening our first was born, Judith did a (slow) lap of the Crewe BMX track.

Two weeks before the third one was due we were cycle camping in Brittany. Don’t sweat it – nature is great at taking care of these things.

Give me a call in the morning, I might have a stanchion kicking about. Deffo got new, maybe used.
Scored or worn air chamber can pop seals too. Needs a proper looking at.

Definitely not! You need a new dropout cup or stanchion. Please don’t ride it you might actually lose your front wheel/die/get bum raped etc…

Clean it up, let all the air out, take the leg out, clean inside the seal head and bush. Put the seal back in, put the leg back in, add a few ml of oil (about 5 is fine if you regularly service them) and *important bit* compress the leg before you screw the valve back in.

With the SC32 the spring/disc leg needs to be compressed to stop the seal from being pushed out by air pressure in the outer leg under big hits.

As of right now no one is able to say what will happen. Paul Turner has bought the company back and I believe he will try to license the designs he owns. That was always his plan and maybe now it will be easier to achieve.

We are still able to service forks and rear shocks, but a lot of small parts will no longer be available.
