If it makes any odds the Hope 40t seems to work with any shimano cassette (Deore, SLX, XT certainly) and 32,34 or 36t in my quick ‘try it for size’ tests anyway.

Personally, I quite like having two chain rings and a front mech. Gives me a smashing usable range of gears and keeps my chain in check too 🙂

That jump from 15 to 19 is quite noticeable though. Try it yourself and see what I mean.

The customer wanted a lower bottom gear and was already running a 30t ring. The Hope 40 Trex did exactly what was needed. Find me a 28t ring that fits a 104bcd and I’ll recommend that.

I just did a 11-36 with a Hope 40t. Ditched the 11t. Makes more sense to me to lose the top end rather than a random useful cog in the middle.

This just arrived – it’s off for test first, but I can’t wait to give it a mediocre seeing to.

Strictly speaking the Mustang was what they called a pony car. Muscle cars were/are ‘full size’ vehicles with extra option power plants. Stuff like the Charger, Challenger, Chevelle, etc. corvettes don’t count as they’re sports cars.

Nope. Had a new Mustang in 2007, but that’s not a muscle car. I concur, that Chevy fits the bill, I’d love a Chevelle or El Camino. ’69 naturally.

Balancing the strength of the quad and hamstring is really important, I can tell when I’ve not done much riding as odd twists make the knee give way. Can’t jump, or change direction quickly but have snowboarded since.

Tore mine 15 years ago no surgery, works fine for me. Can walk, run and cycle, but not a lot else.

Have a go yourself, they’re quite simple machines, even though working on them can be a bit tricky in terms of access. Fixed ours a while ago – sweetcorn in the pump.

Sounds like a bargain to me.

That’s pretty much what we do for the classic. You get to drive the french roads a bit more, time it right and you miss the traffic, plus the eating is a million times better off circuit. We go to Arnage on the sunday, as it’s nice and quiet.

We have both options in stock. They do a flat sole and an spd version.
I can’t wear mine unless it’s below zero though as my feet get too hot.

Have a look at 45nrth Wolvhammer. There’s nothing warmer.

I’ve only ever been to the Classic, which has more appeal for me anyway. Vintage cars giving it the full beans is spectacular and they do a series of races over the 24 hour period, so there’s always different stuff coming round. We tootle down in some old cars, rent a house 20 minutes away and have a thoroughly splendid time. It’s worth the trip just to see the selection of metal getting on and off the ferry.

You’re missing the key factor, women. As a man I’d be happy with a proper shower, bog and basin, but what do I know!

White Industries have just started making a XX1 spider for the Eno crank. You can now mount a Sram chainring and have it wear out in just a few miles, according to current thinking.

As above, anyone can get you one. I’m ordering today if you want one – they are all available.

The new Mukluk is supposedly less ‘snow bike’ than previous, but the Genesis has been designed for riding in the UK. Not much to choose between them really.

The Caribou has a nicer spec for the money than the Mukluk, but both are equally awesome.

Is there a red bike category?

WD40 softens it right up. Messy but gets rid of the old stuff a treat.

Well, if anyone’s interested, it took an hour, bang on. Macc was dead, Mongleton was fine, Crewe was starting to get busy.

Excellent. Trying to get across/into Crewe in rush hours is a pita. Hope the interview went well.

Never mind those two, by the time you hit Crewe you’re ****.
Leave an hour earlier at least.

If it’s snow oriented riding you’re thinking of, then come and have a ride of a 9:ZERO:7. I ride mine everywhere, but they are supposedly a bit more snow biased.

Anyone know where SRAM X5 cranks can be purchased from for 100mm BB?

Loads of cranks options in stock, give us a bell and I’ll advise. 01270 883785

I’d recommend a 2x set up as you will start climbing silly steep stuff once you find out how much grip you’ve got. A 500g saving is pretty irrelevant in the fun stakes.

We have both in stock and I’ve used the Wolvhammers (not this year though). They are far too hot if the temperature is above zero, but when it’s proper cold they’re amazing.
The Fasterkatt is a better bet for a general winter boot, but be wary of the sizing.

4.7% duty and 20% VAT on the price of the frame plus shipping, plus a clearance fee for the delivering company allowing you to use their deferment service.

Currently leak free as we had our flat roof replaced last week. It’s no longer felt and chippings, but a rather kinky one piece rubber number.
