Tim – what are the Mammoths looking like? I’ve been waiting for a HuDu replacement…

How about some Dillingers? I’ve sent you a mail btw…

    Mammoth…

As far as Exo or not, the Exo ones have sidewall protection woven into the tyre and weigh 5g more. The non Exo tyres have a more supple sidewall. Nowt to chose between them really.

They’re right nice. Plenty in stock, but all the Exo ones have gone.

    Look like Transformers too.

    Chris Porter would love that.

The 9:ZERO:7 sliding dropout frame will take 29+, along with hub gears, belt drive, derailliers, 4″ fat tyres too. It’s pretty versatile. The 190mm frames will all take 29+ too.

Doable, but you need a new air shaft thingy. Worth asking on fat bike forums if anyone with a 100 or 120mm fork wants to swap.

It’s an unsecured loan funded by the shop. The bike is yours to do with as you please. Warranty is down to the place you get the bike from.

If anyone wants a spin on a 9:ZERO:7, you’re welcome to try mine.

We sell quite a few of these to Vaya owners.

I’ve got the potbelly one on my workshop. You’re right in thinking the flue is expensive, but it’s a tidy heater and burns pretty much anything. Get one.

    Extra lolz.
Enjoy what you have folks, no matter what it is it’s awesome/shit/unrideable/amazing.

Do try them yourself though, before you talk cock 🙂

    Ridden one?

Hands up – who is commenting about the ride of the bike and has never actually ridden one?

You will find that the vast majority of people who have ridden a Maverick, actually prefer it for most kinds of riding – the stuff that most of us actually do.

As far as a come back, it would be great – the forks and monolink were so far ahead of the curve, they’d fit in quite nicely nowadays.

The Borealis Yampa is 3.1lb not a lot will be lighter than that. Add some HED rims and you’re in the sub 24lb complete bike region.

All the yellow ones are gone apart from one 58cm. We can do green in most sizes still though. Frame, fork, headset, two sets of dropouts (geared and singlespeed/hubgear), front mech plate and touch up paint is £950.

They are really nice and super versatile.

9:ZERO:7 runs with a 135 rear hub too, for extra easiness.

Have a word with Ron Fenton at STS Imports. They have a container come in from the US once a month. Sea freight is your only choice for anything like a sensible price.

The bolt has thread lock on it. Use a blowtorch or hot air gun to soften it.

Undo the other bolt and just rotate the cage until the tight one frees off. Fit a new bolt. Never, ever use a ball end to tighten or loosen anything again.

The vodafone thing at £5 a day is about as cheap as you’ll get.

Sideways Tim – any info on the other 29+ tyres that are coming???

What would you like to know?

Chronicle’s will be £59 or £69 depending whether you go for the 60tpi or 120 tpi casing. Due mid October. Not sure where the £100+ price has come from, but they aren’t.

This stuff is brilliant. Fit tyres, squirt on tyre/rim bead seating area, inflate to 20psi and jobs a good ‘un.

Lower pressure to 8psi before you go ride though.

Nana, what do you shoot? I’ve a Hoyt recurve, but haven’t shot for ages. My lad was National Junior Longbow Champion, but he got bored winning all the time, so the archery kind of fizzled out. I keep meaning to start again, maybe now I will.

Try archery. There’s geeky kit, singlespeeds, road and off road. Loads of clubs and competitions all over the place too.

    It’s yin btw, not ying.

Oh, in that case it’s a bad show all round.

I’m thinking more about the folks who are taking the gearing thing outside it’s remit. 28/42 fat bloke, big hill – loads of stress.

Not had any experience of broken ones, but were you running it with a massive low gear (40/42t aftermarket cog)? I can see these causing all sorts of problems in the very near future.

    SidewaysTim

Might be worth giving them a call – they do odd things every now and again.

My wife swears by her Alpkit one. Being a woman she’s always cold and being a scout leader, shes often camping. Never been cold in the alpkit though.
